Stunning location

As said by others this is a stunning location and didn't disappoint during our stay - beautiful sunsets over the sea most nights. You need to be an active person to really enjoy the immediate coast path and beaches or willing to travel elsewhere particularly if tides are wrong. Not a great location for family beach holiday I would suggest. Facilities in main block excellent but portacabins very poor quality in comparison. Agree that those on grass pitches appear to be second class citizens on this site. Grass pitches also seem smaller - perhaps size of units should be limited on these pitches? Forget the economy pitches for a caravan in my view - they are generally too sloping particularly if you want to put up awning. That said they have the front row view. Prepare for awning rage if you arrive in windy conditions! Wardens seemed friendly to me if you try to engage and almost too keen on keeping place up to scratch (perhaps a bit less noisy pitch mowing necessary during the day?) Wifi a complete waste of money - didn't expect great connection here but don't bother, enjoy the peace!

Wonderful

This site has virtually everything I would expect from a club site, brilliant location with wonderful views, very clean in all facilities and the grounds and very thoughtful and considerate staff. The first night on site at approx' 22.00 my partner had some very worrying pains in the chest I contacted a staff member who advised me what to do. Fortunately we did not have to proceed any further but I was approached the following day by the staff member enquiring as to my partners health. Overall comment on this site is excellent, both my partner and I want to go back. Well done.

Nice Place

This is a very busy site but then we did visit in the August school holidays. Fabulous location, stunning views & ideally situated for Tintagel Castle & Boscastle. The site is situated between the two & there is a coastal path that can be walked to both but be weary if you don't like heights as there are some shear drops on parts of the walk. Also make sure you have been training for a couple of months before tackling the coastal paths either way as there are some big climbs. All in all, a great site.

We came for the view

We have visited several times before but not for a few years. The current wardens were not as friendly and welcoming as the old wardens were. We were lucky to have a front row pitch with amazing views, although most pitches have a good view of the sea. Cannot fault the cleanliness of toilet block and site in general. Well stocked information room, very useful.

Stunning location but wardens not that helpful when needed!

We have stayed at this site before so knew how stunning the views were..both times we have been it has been really windy but think that's just been a bit of bad luck and the fact that it's right on the cliff edge (hence the stunning views!). Our only disappointment was the helpfulness of the wardens...well lack of...not upon arrival - they were fine...but unfortunately when my husband fell foul of a strong gust of wind which caught the mh garage door and hit him hard on the head causing a deep cut on his head I was left with no option but to seek the wardens assistance to id the nearest hospital ... It was 815pm so the wardens had officially gone 'off duty' so after reluctantly ringing the bell I was met with a less than enthusiastic couple who clearly didn't want to be bothered. After explaining the issue all I was told was either get a taxi or call an ambulance...they didn't know which was the nearest hospital and told me to check the info block (which didn't seem to have the info needed to hand anyway!), they didn't offer to help or administer any 1st aid ( albeit I am more than capable of doing so but not all campers would have been), no injury book filled in, they didn't even ask which pitch we were on to do any courtesy follow up the next day....when I did locate a sign by the shower block re hospitals it was misleading to say the least re opening times of local a&e's....anyway a long drive to hospital and deep cut glued we got on with our holiday...but sadly I was left a little disappointed with thes wardens, which to be fair isn't my usual experience of the wardens we have met at various sites.

Amazing views and walking but very busy

Having been here before we declined the warden's offer to go and find a pitch and selected one available from the map. The views are spectacular and the facilities clean. However, a number of the flap down seats were missing in the shower cuticles of the ladies and the water in the washing up area took forever to heat up. This time around we didn't find other caravanners to be especially friendly. Great place to stay for walkers - St Netan's Glen is in walking distance.

Stunning views

We stayed here for a week in August. The view on approach is breathtaking and was even better on the site. After a long journey travelling to the site I was disappointed to say the least that I was given a map & told to go & choose a pitch on foot. This site is quite hilly. I met with a very out of breath lady who was not happy with pitches that were left, but I marched on & found a lovely grassed pitch set back from the front. This turned out to be an advantage as the winds were quite bad through the night & we had a little shelter from the Hedge behind us. It would have been better if the wardens had a less stressful way to help you choose a pitch upon arrival rather than running around with all the other campers, also another shower & toilet block for the top field. Other than this we had a fantastic week in a fantastic location. We will be returning

Fantastic place!

We loved it here! From the moment we arrived and drove up the approach road to the site, we were stunned by the fabulous views. We spent 12 nights at the site and could have happily stayed longer. We were lucky to have one of the hard standing pitches on the front row and close to the main toilet block which was always kept very clean and tidy. The walks to Tintagel and Boscastle along the coastal path are stunning, if a little steep in places, but well worth the effort. Having read previous reviews before our trip, we were a little worried about the 'grumpy' wardens but the ones that we saw were always very friendly, helpful and greeted us with a smile. The site was very windy on occasions, particularly during the night but this would definitely not deter us from going again.

Underwhelmed

Beautiful views, but many drawbacks.  1). Facilities completely inadequate for a full site. Toilets don't flush very well. Only a few showers in main block and a couple more in portacabin. Had to wait in a queue to shower.  2). Nowhere near enough water points, and if having to go to lower pitches, for older people, steep hills to negotiate to dispose of grey water and fetch fresh. Why not have more standpipes on each level????  3). Cars have to stick to 5mph, the children on bikes here speed down said steep hills are a danger to themselves and other pedestrians and cars.  Again, fabulous views...
