Up and under

We stayed at Tredegar Park when we attended the 6 nations game (Wales v Ireland) and have stayed several times before. The site is ideally placed for visiting Cardiff with excellent buses traveling to the capitol every 20 mins. The bus stop for the number 30 service is about a twenty minute walk away at Cleppa Park. Apart from Cardiff there are several things to do within a thirty minute drive and the site is up to all of the clubs standards

Will be back

To get it out of the way we have marked the site down slightly because there is some road noise from the roads that border the site. That said , this is a wonderful and well maintained site, enhanced by its location within the grounds of Tredegar House and the facilities it has to offer. There is a good dog walk through the grounds and a great play area for the children. Access to local shops is an easy five minute walk through the grounds to a row of shops including the Fish and Chip shop and a Convenience store. Asda is only a mile away and Cardiff 25 minutes by bus . Please note though that it takes 15 minutes to walk round the outside perimeter wall to get to the bus stop ( no direct access from the site) The Shower blocks were to the usual CC Standards although the water pressure was slightly low. The information cabin was very good and the Wardens were extremely pleasant and helpful. The site is very conveniently located from the Motorway but if you are heading from England there is a Toll on entering. Albeit in a motorhome we only had to pay the car charge, fortunately as the van charge was into double figures! Unfortunately at the moment Tredegar House is suffering from some considerable mould problems and on our visit the heating had failed. Maybe wise if this is the only reason for visiting to contact in advance to see the state of the house for visitors.

First outing without a hitch!

First time out with with new caravan and great site to pitch up, plenty of space, and huge park to walk the dog. Bit of traffic noise from nearby motorway but not disruptive as some have suggested.  Will defiantly return when more time available as convenient for bus into Cardiff.

Great for dog walking!

This is a great location if you have a dog or active children, right next to Tredegar Park. The site is the usual high caravan club standard and although there was road noise, it wasn't that bad.

Great base for winter break

Very tidy site, warm welcome from warden and level pitch. There is a hum of traffic from the nearby M4 but we didn't hear this when inside the caravan. Well placed for visiting the attractions of Cardiff and the even closer Newport, plus the grounds of Tredegar House are pleasant.

Very convenient

This was our first stay at this site and I had read the previous reviews which were spot on. Good location for Cardiff. It snowed whilst we were there so whilst we would normally cycle or go on our motorbike, we decided to catch the bus. It's only a short walk to the bus stop which runs every 20 mins or so, we didn't have to wait long. This took us straight into the centre of Cardiff. This was also our first visit to Cardiff and we enjoyed wandering around. We may well come back at xmas for our Christmas shopping. The grounds of the house are beautiful, lots of walks available and I watched a squirrel play outside the van every morning. There is a background hum of the traffic but you get used to it.

Lovely, convenient site

Lovely site location in the grounds of Tredegar House.  Close to M4 which is good for location but does mean there is a hum from the traffic noise. Site and facilities clean and well kept. Wardens welcoming and helpful. Supermarket within walking distance if needed. Stayed twice and will certainly be staying again.

Excellent Site, flexible location

Great site for access to the cities of Cardiff and Newport. Good bus services close to the site. I noticed cycle routes pass by the site and there is plenty of access to cycling on the flat towards the coast or up into the Hills around Risca/Cwmbran. Access to the site is easy, being located close to the motorway. The proximity to the motorway does give rise to some noise, but it didn't bother us.

Lovely Welcome

Stayed here for Valentines Weekend and trying out our new van.  Close to home and easy to get to.  The wardens were really friendly and helpful and the toilet block was spotless even though the site was full.  The only downside for us was the road noise which was constant which is a shame.  However when the leaves are on the trees Im sure it would be less of a problem.  Lovely setting, our dog really enjoyed her  unplanned swim in the lake!  Wet dog in the van what joy.
