Tredegar House Club Site

It never ceases to amaze me that everytime I book into this site it always seems to be full. Talking to people, some have come from a great distance and others a few miles away. In general this is a typical well kept Caravan Club site however it is noisy due to both the A48 running behind the site boundary wall and the M4 motorway being less than a quarter of a mile away. The road noise is constant, more so when it wet but especially early morning. Nothing that can be changed but be aware. The one thing I think is dangerous is the lack of lighting on the gate into the park which is locked at dusk. There needs to be a security light of some description here. I appreciate that the Park is now operated by the National Trust but I am sure the CC could negotiate with the Trust to overcame what I think is a serious safety issue to users of the site.

Brilliant location

Spent 5 nights here earlier in April, site has not changed since we were last here 18 months ago, just as perfect.  We had a lovely view from our pitch, and just a few minutes stroll away was the 90 acre Tredegar Park, perfect for a little dog who loves to run and run!  In fact she remembered it from last time and began squeaking with excitement as we approached the site.  Friendly and helpful wardens, and a convenient spot for walking to the fish and chip shop and Asda, no need to get the car out of an evening.  We even had takeaways delivered to the gate!  Only surprising thing was the sound of traffic from the flyover - it looks miles away yet was a constant background noise - in my opinion still preferable and less intrusive than staying close to a road with intermittent traffic.

Excellent Site

This is one of our favourite sites and did not disappoint. Despite the wet weather the wardens have kept the site spotless. Unfortunately the site is spoiled by inconsiderate drivers cutting the corners on the road thereby leaving mud at the edges and on the road. All credit to the fantastic and friendly wardens. Our dogs love this site with the adjacent park. The park is wonderful to walk round and visit to Tredegar House shop is a must and they also have a coffee shop where you can sit outside (weather permitting).

Beautiful!

Had a really lovely stay at one of our favourite (and quite local) club sites over the Easter weekend. The surroundings are really lovely, beautiful walks and major supermarket a short drive or (weather permitting) a really nice walk too! Wardens were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Ideal base for local attractions

This must be the fourth or fifth time for us to stay at this site and we have not been disappointed once. It's easy to reach and very convenient for exploring the area. There are plenty of attractions nearby whether it be in Cardiff, Newport or slightly further afield. The only downside to the site, although it doesn't bother us too much is it's close proximity  to the main road and you have constant traffic noise, however, we live in a very quiet village in the countryside and we still return to stay here.

first time friendliness

This is our first ever caravan and to test it we stayed a night at this site and from the time we arrived at reception we were overwelmed with the amount of help, advice and friendliness we received from the proprietors and other caravanners. This site is clean and in an amazing setting being in the tredegar house grounds. It is in close proximity to Cardiff, the valleys, and about 3/4 mile off the M4 and An asda store is just 1/2 mile away.

Excellent wardens

Taking our first trip of the year to gauge if our motorcamper was operating as normal - we encountered a few technical problems.  No worries, thanks to Deb and Gerry Wallbank assistant wardens.  They were most helpful, nothing too much trouble and all carried out with a smile.  Thank you so much for your wonderful service.  A credit to the Club.

2016 February/March

Tredegar House is a good site although there may be a little road noise. Excellent for visiting South Wales and the easy access/closeness of the motorway means that it is possible to visit places a little further afield quite easily. The M4 'corridor' does, however get very busy. There is an Asda very close to the site, which makes shopping easy, and the site is located within the grounds of Tredegar House National Trust property, which means there is plenty of 'parkland' to use. The site is very well kept (as usual for Caravan Club sites) and is definitely worth a visit,
