Quiet and peaceful

Quiet and peaceful Site with plentiful walks from it around pretty narrow lanes and up and down hills. Hard standing area very level but no views from it which was disappointing. Good location for beautiful areas of Cornwall, and the main beaches of course!

Great to be back

Returned to our seasonal pitch after lockdown. The site was looking fantastic. We were met at the top of the site by a warden who explained the new check in procedures which when we proceeded to reception was all as he said would be. The new Covid-19 way of using the facilities was explained and is easy to follow. Hopefully everyone will adhere to these rules and help, everyone stay safe and make what is going to be a very different rest of the season safe and stress free for the wardens. Thanks for all the work you’re doing to make the site as fantastic as it is.

Lovely Wardens

It is a good site for people who can walk without any mobility issues. It is very well kept in a secluded setting and not too far from the North Cornwall coast. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, although we curtailed the length of our stay in favour of Merrose Farm, because, although the dog walk at Treamble Valley in pleasant enough, it was not really as suitable for our young and active hound!!

Clean and friendly site

Visited for t days early Sept. Great welcome and a lovely hardstanding pitch elevated above others in front of us. Not sure that I would give the same score if I had one of the many sloping grass pitches so have empathy with others who may not have scored as well. As to be expected, roads in many places are narrow. Shortest route to Perranporth is down 2.5 miles of narrow lanes, with few passing places. Or a round trip of about 8 miles, but that still involves a narrow road of a mile. One caravanner (who may have been staying on one other very local site) decided to come down the road an hour early. Just as well we were not heading out with caravan in tow as there would have been very limited chance to pass. (It would have been a 500 metre reverse for one unit!) Will stay again but would be keen to get a hard standing as very few level grass pitches, some would involve much levelling. Very well behaved dogs on site, it helped that the wardens placed signs constantly reminding owners. We do not have anything against dogs, in fact I met many on site and chatted their owners complimenting on their well behaved dogs with little or no barking or issues at all. But it is quite different on the local beaches, especially Perranporth, with most running around off the lead. Even some owners sneaked their dogs onto dog free beaches, which were few. Padstow seem to now be their adopted seaside with almost more dogs than owners.

A lovely well cared for site

A really lovely site, wardens were brilliant and helpful as well as keeping the facilities ‘top class’ Very peaceful and quiet. Good distance to Perranporth and Newquay, but! A very long walk there and back. It would be great if there were more hardstanding pitches, as someone has said, some of the grass pitches are sloping. This was our first visit, but, we will be back. Thankyou Wardens

Time for change

I have been coming to this site for many years to spend my main summer holidays. Most arrive early as its a lottery as to what pitch type you get, i.e. grass, hardstanding, under trees, sloping pitch or near park areas. After my experience this year of having to spend two weeks on a wet, damp, overused and smelly grass pitch i feel its time for a change here. The club should give the consumer, us, the choice to stay either on a particular pitch or pitch type, grass or hardstanding. By giving us the choice would determine whether we stay here or use another site with choice. This year I arrived very early and still got a grass pitch which was already wet and muddy on arrival, many pitches had been moved forward of their original position because of the conditions encroaching on other pitches giving a cramped feel. Weekenders arrive and have a better choice than people spending a long time on a pitch. I put my comments into the comments book and the reply from the warden team was "Cornish weather eh!!" not really the answer to this problem people are seeking If people were able to choose a pitch when booking and knew where they were going to be there would not be a need for the many caravans that arrive early overnight to get the best pitch thus alleviating the mad rush, subsequently if a desired pitch was unavailable then we can make that conscious decision if we go or not. We as a family love this site which is why we return year on year but i`m fed up of the lottery. Many people i know like a grass pitch as i do but do not wish to spend 2 weeks on a muddy and smelly pitch and would like the choice due to the fact that on this site all pitches are classed the same regardless of hardstanding or grass. The club would gain extra revenue by charging a little extra for a guaranteed hardstanding pitch if so desired. The club does this at many other sites so why not here? Due to this years experience i am considering going somewhere else for the first time in years.

Perfect for exploring Cornwall.

We have just returned home after 6 nights at Treamble Valley. It's a great site and well situated for exploring Cornwall. There are lots of great walks from the site and the helpful guide available from reception is well worth the 50p. We personally thought the shower blocks were clean and the facilities were well looked after. Lovely wardens who were very helpful and kept the site looking great. No phone signal which is actually a nice thing! Will be back!

Noisy and crammed in pitches.

Third visit to this site and will be the last. Pitches were very crammed in, and more and more caravanners seem unaware of other people's spacs. Noisy neighbours from 7:30am until past midnight, dirty showers because campers don't sweep them out or remove empty shampoo bottles. Staff were lovely but nervous about asking people to keep the noise down. Yapping dogs on most days/evenings. Very disappointing.

Very good site

First time at Treamble with our son and family. First impressions was the fabulous floral baskets, and the very warm welcome from the staff. Never before have we had wardens of the club that have gone the extra mile to help to put us together even showing us to 2 adjacent pitches. Normally it is go and find your own in other words - pot luck!! Facilities were always well maintained even though the site was full. The cream teas and pasties from the shop were delicious. Only suggestion to help ease congestion would be to arrange a one way system in and out the site as it is a bit tight especially for large outfits.
