I stayed at this site from 12th-17th May. Just me & the dog! I had wanted to visit this site for a long time & I wasn't disappointed. Directions were good & It's very kind of the Caravan Club to put a tank at the entrance so us campers know where to turn in! I had a hard standing pitch towards the end of the site, they are a very good size & there are plenty of service points. The site was very well kept, their excellent standard as usual. Straight out of your van & into the forest....bliss. Plenty of birds so don't forget to pack you bird feeder & plenty of seed. Little munk jack deer were a common sight both in the forest & on the site. It was very quiet apart from now & again some military planes but that's to be expected as you are on MOD land. I picked up a walk from the office which took me to the arboretum a lovely walk through forest & past lakes. Just a few miles away was Oxburgh house (NT) where I was made to feel very welcome. Dogs are allowed in the grounds but not the house. The day I visited they were cleaning the chandelier! (I know what you are all thinking!) At Godderstone is some water garden's where dogs once again are welcome. Well worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my few days & would highly recommend it, the warden's & other caravaner's were all extremely friendly.
Brilliant Site
Brilliant site in the forest, peaceful, quiet ideal for dog walking . Only downside it’s not open all year. Very friendly and helpful wardens Keith and Sarah. We would spend more time here if we could
Not suitable for motorhomes in wet weather
We booked a pitch for our motorhome over the Easter break. We arrived at 12:20 and only grass pitches were left. Most of the hard pitches were taken up with caravans. Having been towed out of a CL that morning we were reluctant to stay but was shown a raised grass pitch not too far from the road. A big mistake! It did not stop raining and the grass became waterlogged. When we tried to leave we were stuck. The male member of staff was most unhelpful and told us he was not allowed to tow us, all we needed to do was push it out or a local farmer might be able to tow us for a small fee. Our camping neighbour kindly offered to tow us out but no one had a tow rope. In the end we were pushed out by some kind volunteers.
We did go on some good walks and it is very peaceful, but will not be returning due to the attitude of the male staff.

Peaceful site
Very quite peaceful site lovely walks straight into forest dogs loved it
Site was kept spotlessly clean by temp wardens who were very friendly and helpful
Love this site
We had a great few days here. Walks straight into the forest that are well sign posted. Quite a way from anything else so if you want loads close by this isn't for you. Great chippy in Mundford just down the road. Site was clean and tidy. Great for quiet, relaxing, walks in the woods. No play area or facilities but that didn't reduce the enjoyment of our stay. Lady warden we saw was lovely lady, as is thier little dog!! Great dog treats for sale in the shop too, dog loves those!! We will be back. 😀
Yet another relaxing stay
We have been visiting this site since 2004 - when the hard standings were just part of a concrete road! This year we had a long weekend, 6th to 9th October, to just relax and chill out before storing the caravan for winter. As always the site was quiet and peaceful making it extremely conducive to relaxation. Looking forward to more visits next year.
Another lovely stay
Stayed at Thetford for 2 nights on our way home. This is a lovely non facilities site and its good to know that the club intend to make further upgrades this coming winter. The friendly and hard working wardens keep this site immaculate. They have added nice little touches like boxes of herbs along the reception fence line. Some nice POI's in the area. For us its mainly nature reserves at Lackford Lakes(SWT) about 15 miles away and the place to see Kingfishers, Wheeting Heath (NWT) 6 miles, the place to see Stone Curlews, Lakenheath Fen (RSPB) about
8 miles away, the place to see Cuckoo's, Hobbies and Cranes. Lynford Arboretum is a great walk with a dog agility course. Turn left in Mundford.
I stayed at Thetford as I wanted to take a camera in for repair and can recommend ACS on the small industrial estate at Watton.
Great Site
Stayed for one week over bank holiday . The site was very busy. Families seemed to be on the grassed copses rather than the hard standings. Lots of dog owners, however all well behaved. The relief wardens were very helpful. Well placed for visiting Hunstanton, Wells etc. The Arboretum in Mundford is a gem. One of the best CC sites I,ve stayed on for a while.
Lovely wooded site
We love this site, no facilities, ideal for more senior campers, and convenient for so many places to visit. The wardens, Keith and Sarah are wonderful. This is what it is all about!
