Beautiful walks

I booked for the weekend and didn't read that there were no toilet/shower facilities. This didn't bother me as I have a loo but I'd love to stay longer in future so a shower block would be great as I don't have facilities. The site itself is lovely for getting away from it all and just being with nature. Beautiful pine, oak, birch and others. Hundreds of squirrels and loads of deer and birds. It was lovely to walk in the forest. The lady who greeted me was very friendly and helpful If your kids love playing in the woods and making their own fun then this is perfect. I'll definitely return.

A really peaceful site.

Stayed here for a short week-end (as Incleboro Fields was full). Warm and friendly greeting with clear instructions given me. A really pleasant and peaceful site with an abundance of wild life. You must visit the only Desert Rat's museum in the world. It id free, open at somewhat irregular hours and run by a really charming gentleman who does know his stuff. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful site, highly recommended

This was my first visit to this site but it won’t be my last. The welcome received was very warm indeed and the location of the site is wonderful. Me and my dogs enjoyed walks in the forest and were fortunate enough to see Roe Deer during every walk that we took. The site itself is beautiful, tidy and clean, and so very quiet. Stepping outside the van at night you are treated to absolute silence apart from the occasional call of a night-time animal in the surrounding forest. Clearly the lack of toilet/shower facilities is a drawback at this site but for a long weekend it really isn’t any real hardship to use your van, although even that may be a challenge for families. I am very much looking forward to my next stay at Thetford Forest and strongly suspect that it may become a regular haunt for me and my four-legged fiends.

First Visit to this Site

This was our first visit to this site and hope it won't be the last. Very relaxing and peaceful with plenty of wildlife including squirrels and muntjacs, although still easy to get out and about in the area. A very good day out was to Bressingham Steam Museum near Diss well worth a visit as it includes a section on Dad's Army.

The most amazing site - absolutely factastic!

We loved the idea of visiting Thetford forest and was keen when we saw this site on the club website directory. It is every bit as good as it looks and is the best experience we have ever had caravanning! The site itself is spick and span, well organised with a superb layout. Everything is new, neat and in great order. There is a great little shop and reception too selling everything from excellent meats through to the standard domestic items. The surrounding area is amazing - British woodland at it's absolute best. Stunning nature all around you, muntjac deer openly visible everywhere you go with occasional sightings of roe deer. Bird life is abundant too. Superb dog walking all around you with well marked trails. We stayed for a weekend and left not wanting to go on Sunday morning. We shall be back for a longer stay at the first opportunity!

Love this site

We returned on the 25 July after spending 8 nights at Thetford Forest, what a lovely site. Wardens were so friendly, and even walked around the site in the evening. Great walks straight off the site, great for dogs. Only 40 minutes to the coast, so central for everything.

Great for dogs

A lovely quiet site in the middle of woodland. Able to walk directly into the forest from the site which is ideal for dogs (and there were lots on site!). No toilets or showers or play equipment so probably not good for families. Close to the road but we heard no noise from it.

Great Place

Enjoyed holiday as always. Great place to come with dog. So peaceful, apart from one man who continually let his dog run around off lead. Wardens are always very friendly and helpful. Will be back again as usual next year.

Weekend Away

This was a beautiful site. Peacfull. Great for dogs. My dog throughly enjoyed himself, as we did. The only down side was no toilet block, but we knew this before hand, for a weekend away was no problem. We also had the best weather, while everyone had thunderstorms, we had sunshine. Great location and easy to get to and find. Would highly recommend and visit again.

Perfect for a restful break......

I stayed at this site from 12th-17th May. Just me & the dog! I had wanted to visit this site for a long time & I wasn't disappointed. Directions were good & It's very kind of the Caravan Club to put a tank at the entrance so us campers know where to turn in! I had a hard standing pitch towards the end of the site, they are a very good size & there are plenty of service points. The site was very well kept, their excellent standard as usual. Straight out of your van & into the forest....bliss. Plenty of birds so don't forget to pack you bird feeder & plenty of seed. Little munk jack deer were a common sight both in the forest & on the site. It was very quiet apart from now & again some military planes but that's to be expected as you are on MOD land. I picked up a walk from the office which took me to the arboretum a lovely walk through forest & past lakes. Just a few miles away was Oxburgh house (NT) where I was made to feel very welcome. Dogs are allowed in the grounds but not the house. The day I visited they were cleaning the chandelier! (I know what you are all thinking!) At Godderstone is some water garden's where dogs once again are welcome. Well worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my few days & would highly recommend it, the warden's & other caravaner's were all extremely friendly.
