A third lovely visit

Picked this site once again due to close location to me. I like the fact that no mobile signal. Always a warm welcome from Gary and his wife. Very hard working friendly couple. There is a relaxed atmosphere here. There was a bit of rain over the bank holiday which formed part of my 4 night stay. I agree that some members don't look after the grass in wet conditions and just spin off leaving a mess behind for others . A lovely position for great walks around Rosedale. One great tea shop and many eateries around the village. Looking forward to my next visit already.

Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing.

People visiting the site need to be aware that this one is special! No toilet block, papers, maps or bread  etc for sale on site. All available in the village. That's not the club's decision but one down to planning conditions. We had no problems with the tv signal and had a fair range of channels but not all available at home. Great to leave the web and phone at home but for the desperate try the White Horse, 5 minutes up the hill.  Good food and drink there too.  Our visit coincided with two long spells of heavy rain.  Sadly, some members don't know how to use grass pitches when they are wet. Drive in a straight line and follow the warden's advice. There is plastic griding under parts of the site but some idiots had to do it their way, thus making the wonderful friendly helpful and extremely hard working wardens' job unnecessarily difficult. Negatives - members thinking it's fine to allow their dogs to wander around the site off lead leaving their deposits as they go, and wonderful walks sadly which abandon you (path markers and way markers) missing. Enjoy this one - maybe we'll see you there on our next visit.

Wonderful atmosphere

Our second stay at Rosedale - this time for a week at the end of August. For us, this is probably one of the best sites in the CC network and that is due to the lovely relaxed atmosphere created by the Wardens. When you arrive, it looks loved and cared for with a lovely display of flowers and carefully tended grass pitches. You can tell that the Wardens do everything to make the site as attractive as possible and it is a credit to them. There is a notable absence of petty rules and regulations and the prime aim is to make everyone's stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. In many ways, it's just like a big CL - with plenty of space around each unit. As others have said, the absence of any mobile signal is a bit of a pain but a quick drive up to the car park half-way up Chimney Bank gives a reasonable signal for essential phone calls. Rosedale remains one of our favourite sites and we will definitely be back again.

August bank holiday

Lovely visit to this site, staff very helpful and friendly, our first visit here but will definitely go back. An ideal base for walking and plenty of places to eat if you don't feel like cooking. Only downside is phone and tv signal, but this could be a positive if you're looking to get away from it all.

3rd visit

This was my third visit to this site and won't be my last. It's situated in a great part of the country within easy reach of the moors and coast so something for everyone. It's beautifully kept by excellent wardens a credit to the caravan club. The only down side I can find is the poor tv reception no wifi or phone signal I know the club can't do anything about the phone but it would be nice to get wifi and tv booster. Also not the best site to be on if there is heavy rain but that's the British weather.

didn't make the Rosedale show

Having got back from this site i thought i would write a note about this delightful site ,this was going to be our second visit ,but unfortunately when we were on site my wife became ill ,so i had to take her back home ,then i had  to come back to pick up the caravan,so i missed the Rosedale Show completely ,never less the site was as good as ever, and the Wardens were spot on. my apologizes to all concerned if we disturbed anybodys sleep during Thursday night ,and myself for taking down the Awning at 6 in the morning and packing up ,i had to leave early ,so i could not even say goodbye to the wardens . but i shall be returning to this excellent site ,and as all the reviews say a brilliant and well kept site and pubs/cafes and area are well worth a visit.

Our Favourite site for peace and quiet

We stay at this lovely site as often as we can manage as it's only about 1 hour drive from were we live and it's pure bliss. The site has really lovely welcoming wardens we have heard they are moving sites and we are sad about this as they are the nicest we've met. The site is well maintained with beautiful baskets of flowers and bird feeders. There is no facilities on site which doesn't bother us as it makes it more affordable. The only negative is that because the pitches are grass which is great in the summer in the winter it's a big problem and often pitches are unusable which is a shame. There are loads of walks off site my hubby walks our two boxer dogs legs off he loves going up Chimney bank I prefer chilling out on site. The Coach house pub opposite the site is Fantastic with friendly welcoming staff and locals and the food is very good especially the steak pie. The Milburn Arms is also a lovely pub /hotel with a Stunning beer garden the food is good also. There are two cafes in the village i prefer the Graze on the green as the staff are lovely they were quite rude in the other one. Location wise you have so much on the doorstep so the site is a great base and the fact there is no phone signal makes it better it's nice to get away from everyday life sometimes. We will be going back to Rosedale as soon as we can weather permitting as it is just lovely not much for kids to do like but there is a site next door which caters more for families

peace and quiet

We have just returned home with batteries fully recharged on this well kept site. The wardens deserve a verbal bouquet . We were the only ones on the site that were in a place which stopped us getting a tv reception. The warden spent quite a time in our van trying to pick up a good signal but with no success. It did not matter as the weather was good and the site forces you to relax. Thank you.

Third visit

This was our third visit to this site so obviously it suits us as a site and as a location. The site is always immaculate and well cared for by the wardens who are friendly and welcoming and very helpful. The pub across the road is very useful if you do not want to cook but you may need to book at weekends. The site location is convenient for walking up on the moors and along the old rail tracks around the head of the valley. Great location for cycling and running as long as you like challenging hill climbs.

Fantastic

We have been with the club for 5 years and I think this is one of the best. I should give it bad review as I don't want anyone to come. A lovely welcome from the stand in wardens and a lovely warm welcome from the weekly wardens, giving you time for a chat and any help needed. An all grass site, long and thin, pitches on both sides, left sun in afternoon and right sun in the morning, a small paddock at the end. A village site, a pub across the road, icecream shop and two cafes, another two pubs in walking distance. Small grocery store. The TV has a good signal. No phone or WiFi signal. No toilet block. If you go up the Rosdale Chimney to the car park on the right 4 mins in car, good 4G and phone signal if you want to. The coachman Inn opposite the site superb food, meat pie and chips for us, lovely, about £11 each,  Sandwich and chips £5 large portions. Friendly and welcoming, book a table it gets busy. We will be back.
