Recent stay

This was our first stop on our way up to Scotland. The road from Pickering was a bit narrow in places near Crofton. On arrival at the site we were greeted by the very friendly wardens the site was very well maintained all pitches are grass which was kept short. There is a road which runs by the site which can get busy week days between 7 & 9 in the mornings There is a nice well priced pub outside and the food was excellent. Would certainly go back to this site again

Good site

Just spent 4 nights ,there, loved the peace and quiet, some good sights to see round about,Scarborough, heartbeat country, the site is well kept,in the village theirs a toilet block that makes life easier, and shops, nice pub outside the entrance,tv can be a bit iffy, only problem we encountered was the sat nav took us the long way round to the top of chimney bank, which takes you down into the village,at a1 in 3 gradient,so we turned back, well worth a visit.

THE HOWARD ROSEDALE.

Had a fantastic 3 night break at this gem of site only spoilt by the lack of toilet/shower block and hard standings. When is the Caravan Club going to spend some money up-grading this site which is in a fantastic location.

Wonderful relaxing break

Just returned from a week at Rosedale and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is run in a very relaxed manner by the friendly and helpful wardens and this sets the whole atmosphere of the site. As others have stated, the road from Wrelton, through Cropton is a bit testing in places where it is narrow - especially if you meet an articulated lorry coming the other way as we did. However, although it was a bit toe-curling, thanks to a very considerate lorry driver, we were OK! That said, this shouldn't put anyone off because the reward at the other end is well worth it! No phone signal, as we knew, but if there is an urgent need to use a phone, a quick trip up to the car park on Chimney Bank gives a perfect signal. TV a bit variable for both BBC and ITV and a satellite dish may give better results. Although there isn't a dog-walk, on site, a ten minute walk along the public footpath behind the church and through the other caravan site gives access to open fields where our Cockapoo, "Meg" had an absolute ball chasing rabbits every morning (but didn't catch any!!). Not far from home for us and we will definitely be back.
