Have stayed on this site twice and haven't been disappointed. It is well maintained with the grass kept short and some lovely flower pots around the reception. We have had pitches in the section at the end and though it is a bit of a trek to the water etc. they are lovely spacious pitches. Some are a little uneven so you may need leveling ramps under the wheel.Great for walking, there are lots of walks you can do from the site both long, short, hard and easy. Really nice pub/restaurant on the way up to chimney bank, The White Horse Inn,, they do a lovely home cooked Sunday lunch. I would avoid the pub across the road from the site, it is very like a 'club house' for the commercial caravan site close by. The village around the village green is only 5 mins walk and there are some lovely tea rooms there.
Great*****
Great wardens -Anne and Gary are excellent
Great site - tidy and clean
Great service - help and mats provided for a grass pitch
Great location - Quiet and peaceful
Great walks - circular walks with well maintained stiles and gates
Great- no mobile signal
Great - lots of different places to eat
OK so a shower block would be nice but if you know you don't have one and it's a must then don't book to come here but you'll miss a treat.
Great for walking
We stayed here for a couple of nights on a trip North. A great place for walking directly from the site: there is a booklet of walks available from reception. Very easy to get up on the moors (added bonus is that you can then get phone reception!).
There are no toilet/shower facilities but the service point is very convenient.
It's a short walk to the village store but they don't stock much and the shop in reception at the adjacent campsite is better.
We would stay again.
If driving north the route over the moors is easy for a motor home.
Haven for Relaxation
Well kept site ,clean and very tidy our Wardens were superb and very accommodating. We had various species of bird at our feeder and always had a good night hoot from the resident Tawny Owl. Road noise is there but not enough to put anyone off going to this scenic site. Tea shops and Inns in walking distance. Great centre for visiting the Steam Train from Pickering to Whitby with stops to "Heartbeat" country.

Lovely Site
Thought this was a lovely, well looked after site. There was a warm, friendly welcome from the wardens. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend. The site was full but we found it to be very peaceful and quiet. The sounds of the river, cows and birds far outweighed the sounds of the road. Really enjoyed our stay - despite the typical bank holiday rain :-) and will certainly visit again if in the area
Fantastic site
We had our first visit to this fantastic site over the bank holiday weekend.
All we can say is what a fantastic site which is one of the best sites we have had the pleasure to stay on.
Both the site and its wardens are a credit to the club, in fact the club should be so proud of the wardens as they are both helpful and very friendly to everyone.
Thank you so much for our break and we will be back very soon.
Superb site with great staff!!
We stayed two nights and are new to caravaning, the site is quiet but close to Rosedale village and another site with a childrens play area, we have a young child.
The staff went out of there way to help us with a pitch, directions/suggestions for the area, and really made us feel comfortable.
The site is well taken care of and quite beautiful itself and in such a great place especially for walkers.
Good site in a stunning area
This is a pretty site in one of the most picturesque areas of the UK. The warden are the a delightful couple, who were friendly, accommodating and as helpful as any we have encountered in the CC. Although there was a little traffic noise, it did not bother us. The opposite, which was not the best for food that we tried in the area, was quiet in the evenings, although we did not stay over a Saturday night.
Fantastic little gem
Just returned after 1 St visit of this site, staff are very friendly and helpful, lovely pub across the road that serves food at reasonable prices, will definitely be booking to stay here again.
rosedale
We stayed 3 nights here. The wardens are absolutely dedicated and friendly and understand the issue of motorhome on grass so help with tyre mats.
It's a beatiful and picturesque site but Saturday nights are noisy when the pub over the road have a live band. It went on till 12 then we had to put up with the revellers leaving.
