Wonderful site wonderful wardens

The site is well suituated for the Peak District. Lots to see and do. The wardens were great the best ones we have meet in the CC. Nothing was too much trouble they were warm and friendly, the toilet block was very clean and the site well kept. Thank you. A credit to to the Caravan club.

Nice site

Nice clean site with very helpful wardens. We had a blow out on our way and had to cancel then once our problem was sorted we rang to see if we could go after all this wasn't a problem even tho we arrived after 7pm. There is a bit of road noise. Showers spotless. It's about 2 mile walk into Belper but not many footpaths to get there so beware. There is a lovely pub about 15 minutes walk they do nice food and you get 10% off the food with a voucher fro CC reception. You can walk (yes we like to walk) to the train station in ambergate the train goes to Matlock Bath however beware it's a very very steep hill going down so there was no way we were going to walk back up no matter how much we enjoy hiking but you can get a train back to Belper and a taxi to the caravan site is about £4 so it was handy for us

Excellent site

Five stars all the way !! Spotless ,best showers I've been in,great hot shower. The staff are amazing and very helpful. They directed us to the nearest pub and how to get to Belpher walking. We will definitely be back to enjoy the views from the site. The shop stocked most essentials and I did use it. It was a nice quiet site and very peaceful, just right for a relaxing break.

As Perfect As Ever!

We have been to this site on a number of occasions because its just so handy for the Peak District. On top of that the site is always immaculately kept and the wardens go out of their way to assist and help you enjoy your break. I never fail to be impressed as to how attentive they are. From the site it's a lovely view down the Amber Valley but it really needs to be seen to be appreciated. I would really recommend you give it a visit, especially if you are in need of peace, quiet, and relaxation!

Excellent stay you need transport if only got your Campervan with you. We will be booking again

No 1 site for us

An excellent site where the wardens were both helpfull and friendly. The facilities were excellent in all respects. in particular the Information Room was the best we have come across. The area provides a great variety of "things to do" for all age groups whatever the weather. A 'five star' weeks caravaning for us.

Good site for lower Peak District

We visit the The Firs two or three times a year. It is an excellent site for visiting the lower Peak District especially for those who like walking although there are no footpaths in the immediate vicinity.   The site itself is being immaculately kept and the number of service pitches has been increased.. There are no children's facilities so not particularly good for families although nearby Matlock has several attractions including the Heights of Abraham with its cable car ride and caverns.  The city of Derby is 30 minutes drive away.

For one night only!

Had a lovely one night stay at this site. The one night only refers solely to the amount of time I could get off work to squeeze in a night away!  One of the smaller sites we've visited. We didn't have children with us so cannot comment what its like for families. The toilet block and washing facilities were excellent. It is a nice peaceful site and what makes it were the friendly wardens.  An absolute credit to the club.  We don't want much entertaining when we are away and this little haven provided the peace and tranquility we crave. It has also opened up our eyes to the wonders and beauty that Derbyshire offers. Oh and did I mention the pub just a 10 minute walk away?  Large beer garden and dog friendly. Didn't have food there just drinks. Home and refreshed and a great short break away. Ready or the next one now!!

Charming site

The Firs is an excellent site not at least from the best wardens I have come across on a CC site. They kept the site in an excellent state and was ever so helpful and friendly with good sensible recommendation for places to eat around Belper. The site is very well maintained although there is a a bit of road noise if you are close to the adjacent lane.
