A lovely site

A great site with probably one of the prettiest reception we have ever seen - worth a visit just to see the flowers (Aug) Just a stones throw away from the town, it is great for a nice meal or drink in the many pubs and restaurants. It is also great for a stopover on a longer journey as literally 5 mins off the M5. PEACEFUL AND QUIET in school holidays. We will definitely return

Wonderful Site

I know this site is convenient for travellers en route to other pastures but it is a fantastic site for parking the car / motorhome and relaxing for 3 or 4 days without the need to explore further than the town with its unique architectural style and easily accessible  river walks. The site is well run and beautifully maintained. The wardens are friendly and helpful. There is a large turnover of Vans and people and this seems to add a vibrant air to the site. We have stayed at the site at least once a year since we started caravanning / motor homing in 2005 and will continue! Luv it! Luv it! Luv it!

Ideal location/stop over

This site is ideally located just off the M5, perfect stop over if you are travelling down south or up north, this does seem a very busy site with campers only staying the one night, facilities are dated and shower cubicles not particularly big, however always clean and plenty of hot water. There are no dog walks or children's play area but there is a very large park just outside the main site entrance. We pitched near the exit on the left hand side, very nice flat pitch, only gripe is it backs on to the local Rugby club so be prepared for the rowdy kick out time!! Perfectly located for the town that has an abundance of shops, pubs and antiques, the local farmers market on Saturday is well worth a look round this is situated in the car park by Tewkesbury Abbey. This is a site we would gladly stay at again.

Great short stay

Just back from a lovely 3 night break at Tewkesbury Abbey site. We wouldn't normally use club sites at peak times but had some site night vouchers to use and we hadn't been for a few years so took the opportunity. The first impression you get is what a pretty site it is - the floral display at reception must be the best of any club site we've used. The pitches are all grass and the layout is pretty standard for the club. Toilets and shower facilities are a bit dated and in serious need of refurbishment, but were always clean and we never had to queue. There is no play area or dog walk on site but there is the huge Vineyards Park adjacent overlooking the abbey itself. There is a play area for young children, a fitness centre for older ones and it's a great area for exercising dogs - as long as you can keep them out of the river, that is! There are any number of walks along the riverside path which can be done direct from the site and no end of interesting buildings in the town itself. The wardens work very hard to keep the site looking good; the grass was a bit long but then it's regularly full at the moment so it must be very difficult to get cutting it. In contrast to the last reviewer we saw no problems with dog mess or peeing at all - there was a steady stream of dog owners walking out of the site into the park every morning and every evening.

If your not keen on dogs - its not for you

The site was completly overun with dogs.Members where letting their dogs pee on the pitches also dog poo was  not being cleaned properly. Some members had up to 3 dogs. At times what should be a pleasant site was spoilt by constant barking of dogs This site was a dog toilet and would I would not recommend for families who like a good standard of hygeine.

Picturesque Location

We stayed at Tewkesbury Abbey in July and enjoyed the location with easy motorway access and good directions. Wonderful surrounding scenery and very easy for village/town centre walking and local amenities. Great views of the ancient Abbey from almost anywhere on site. The pristine, well kept site is a credit to the hard working wardens there. We would definitely return to this lovely site.

Nice stop over

This is a very nice site. We enjoyed a 2 night stop over on the way back from Cornwall. People and Wardens very friendly and helpful. Great playing field for the kids with a park. Only draw back was facilities like the shower blocks are very dated, no baby & toddler room. Abbey bells ring throughout the night as well, so don't forget the earplugs. Apart from this it is a lovely site and place to visit.

Overnight oasis

Read every review, they are all spot on. We stayed overnight on the way to Devon, well worth a longer stay, the sight is every thing reviewers say, the town is on the doorstep and is well worth seeing with shops like Haywards Hardware store, amazing what you will find. The Abbey is an absolute gem and unlike many of its comparative treasures it is  free to enter but deserves a substatntial donation. Restaurants are abundant and cater for all tastes. We will be back!

Tewkesbury Abbey

Stayed here on the way back from Devon. A very easy site to find just off the M5 and within easy walking distance of the town. All pitches are grass and no problems for our motorhome. The Abbey is situated very close to the site and well worth a visit. Most pubs sell a reasonable selection of real ale and draught ciders plus good food. Facilities are as you would expect from a CC site, so overall a good place to pitch up for an overnight stop or a longer stay as required.
