Excellent site

Stayed for a couple of nights in mid October and were very impressed with this spacious open site with it's modern facilities block. Plenty of showers and toilets with contactless flush! Just a few minutes walk into the charming old town with lovely shops and restaurants. There is also a bus stop at the top of the road by the Abbey. Lovely views of the Abbey which is well worth a visit.

Fantastic Staff

Stayed on campsite 14th to 18th October. There had been considerable rain the previous days before our visit. We had walked by the side of the main rivers ( Severn and Avon ) and noticed the water level was high. The river Swilgate next to the site was also slightly higher than normal. On wednesday the 16th we had some rain and thought no more of it. The next evening we went out for a meal and on our return we noticed the swilgate level was very high in fact the water had gone into the field behind the abbey. I visited the toilet block at about 11.20pm and returning back to my motorhome I noticed there was quite a lot of people out and about and that some of the vehicles were moving. The site had started to flood. The campsite staff were marvellous. They organised where all the affected vehicles could be moved to safety. What could have been serious they did this with a friendly word and a smile on their face. Next morning they were up early checking on everybody and giving us a map on how to get off the site through the emergency exit still being friendly and smiling. On leaving the site they were at the gate to make sure we were all ok. Thank you to the onsite Tewkesbury team

Fantastic site central to Tewkesbury

This site is in a fantastic spot so convenient for Tewkesbury and therefore walking g distance to many pubs restaurants and shops a gorgeous town to wander around and stroll along the river also many places a short drive away to visit during the day - but wr just love the fact wr can walk out in the evening and in 5-10 minutes we are in Tewkesbury centre 😀

September 2024

We have visited this site on many occasions previously but never experienced closure due to flooding. The staff members could not have been more helpful, working in the small hours to check & ensure the safety of campsite guests Despite our visit having been unavoidably cut short, we thoroughly enjoyed the time we had Our refund was processed swiftly & efficiently The Abbey is a wonderful place to visit & highly recommended.

Great site in a great location. Poor WiFi.

This site is in an outstanding location. 2 minute walk to the town centre and right next to Tewkesbury Abbey. Also close to a huge field, great for dogs. The toilet/shower block is excellent, very clean and plenty of showers and loos. Closed for cleaning during the afternoon which in my opinion is much better than the more usual morning closing times at many other sites. Pitches are a good size. The negative of this site (which, to be fair applies to every other club site we’ve stayed at over the last 12 months) is the poor WiFi. We have paid for the premium WiFi plan but we had very unstable, intermittent access to the internet. We were only on site for one night so the poor WiFi didn’t present too much of a problem but it would have been a significant issue for us had our stay been for longer because we rely on WiFi access. The club really needs to address the WiFi problems, despite the upgrade WiFi access is still poor.

Practically in the town centre

Really spotless site and facilities. Beautiful flowers by reception. I did drive around a few times before finding my pitch even though reception staff had advised the map was a bit misleading - it may have been easier if there was another pair of eyes (I camped by myself). Despite the site being quite busy the facilities were never cramped and it was really quiet at night. Fantastic to be able to walk into town within a few minutes. Sadly missed the river trips as they aren’t available Mon and Tues at this time of year. Amazing to hear peregrines in the sunny evening, apparently they had nested on the Abbey.

Best site I’ve stayed on

This has been the best site that I’ve stayed on this year. Booked for one night but stayed for three. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. There were easy walks to do from the campsite and the shops were just a couple of minutes from the site. The Abbey was just next door so a lot of history to digest all in all a wonderful pace to stay I will definitely be going back there.

Excellent stop over site - wished we'd have stayed longer!

Stayed here many times in the past but not since their refurb. Great welcome, lovely wardens and such a pretty, clean and tidy site. Loving the new hardstandings, large and clean. New shower/toilet block and it's 5*. Bins & recycling near entrance and plenty of water points around the site. We stayed with friends (their first time) and they loved it too. Easy walk into town and lots to see and do in and around Tewkesbury. Sadly we only had one night on our way up to Snowdonia but we will definitely be back. Not cheap but you know what you get with the CAMC.

We will be back!

Our first visit here, but what a great site! The location within 5 minutes walk of the town is unequalled and there are riverside walks very nearby. All of the facilities are raised well above the ground due to the frequent floods and the electricity posts are really tall too giving the whole site a very different "feel!" The facilities block is very modern and well maintained and the whole site is well cared for. In the evening Tewkesbury Abbey Church is illuminated and looks over the site; in the daytime it welcomes all visitors, so open- minded even our dog was allowed to go around inside the magnificent building with us. A good cafe too. Lots of very old buildings and interesting shops in the town, plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants too if you wish to use them.

Great location and facilities

The site is flat, well-maintained, and laid out. It's easy to get around and to access the MoHo Service Point - which is very good. The showers, toilets, washing up and cassette waste facilities are centrally located and only a short walk from any pitch. They are very clean and spacious. Hairdryers provided. Good accessible facilities too. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The reception has an info room with bus timetables and local attractions. There are a few essential items on sale in the Reception Area. Check in and out was easy. Location is perfect for Tewkesbury town. The site is a stone's throw from the Abbey and from there to the town centre which has all the shops, cafes and restaurants you might want. The Abbey is small but very lovely. The Abbey bells are beautiful (extended peals twice on Sundays :o))) but not too early. No gripes with the CAMC set up or staff but I do wish some guests would switch off their engines while checking in instead of letting them idle! It's not necessary and if you're on pitches 5,6 etc as we were, it could get pretty unpleasant. There is a planet to save!
