We spent 3 nights in after some wet weather but the grass was Ok for our camper, though some pitches had been closed as too soft. The loos and showers were fine and plenty of hot water. After many weeks spent inFrance we found it a little strange to have to use keys to get in and out of the shower blocks. We wondered if this really was necessary, it would be difficult for a small child to pop to the loos on his own as the key hole was positioned high up on the door. The very formal pitching instructions were also a bit off putting. The instructions on the electric hook up box were not very obvious and as we had not seen this form of hookup before we were struggling to hook up for a while before a kind camper pointed out the instructions ( in faded lettering). Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.it is in a good position for the town and for driving further afield.
Nice location but site is not the best.
Used as an overnight stop it is in a nice location with the the Abbey etc but with all grass pitches in a known wet location and a lot far from being level does not make this site one of the best . Oh and don't leave your outfit even slightly within the arrival gate area or stand by for a lecture from one of the female wardens even though you would have got the biggest fire engine through the gate. pathetic really !

Wonderful location, lots to do
The site must be one of the best located of all the Club's site, in the shadow of Tewkesbury Abbey and a very short walk from all Tewkesbury's shops, pubs and restaurants. The wardens work hard to keep this busy site clean and tidy, no mean feat with all grass pitches if there is heavy rain, but they did it. Other reviewers seemed a little dissatisfied with the shower blocks, but having come straight from a French campsite to this one we had no complaints. There is such a lot to do in the surrounding area, whichever direction you travel in. Just outside the site is a great field for dog walkers and a good children's playground. We will be back next year!
A great holiday
Tewkesbury is a very nice location with the Abbey close by and the Westminster chime day and night.
We had a lovely time but as there are lots of pitches off road it can get a bit muddy. No hard standing.
The shower bloks are the old style which is fine. It seems that the club has given up on mop and bucket which is a pity as the squeegee is not adequate to clean the shower as it just colects the dirt.

Fantastic location
A beautiful setting with plenty to do in close proximity. Fantastic for motorhomers that want a walk-to location. A great park just outside of the entrance if you are a dog owner or have children, we have been twice now and haven't been disappointed! I gave it 5* for families but don't have children so unsure of facilities in the village other than the park itself - maybe that should be an optional field??????
Great Location but Upgrade required
Used this site for a one night stop over heading south but wished we had stayed longer. It's a stone throw from the Abbey which is a must to see and only a short walk into the village Clean well kept site and a credit to the staff even though the club with all its money has failed to update this sites toilet block. Will be returning but not until the club spends some of the members cash on it. No dog walk but not stated in the info .
Club needs to start saying whether there is a dog walk on site or not
TLC needed
Just back from 3 night break.... Well positioned site for a short stroll into Tewkesbury.... Care is needed when choosing pitch as some are on quite severe slopes. The site is generally well kept however the shower blocks let it down.... They are dated but that isn't a problem, we felt that one clean a day was just not adequate... With each shower block supporting 70 pitches... Unless you went directly after cleaning, the facilities just werent clean i.e grass and debris over floors, empty loo rolls thrown on floor & on several occasions toilets left unflushed & dirty.... I do appreciate the club cannot be responsible for how some people leave them, but feel they need regular inspections & TLC throughout the day. We did feel the site was fairly quiet & peaceful & had no problem with the Abbey Bells... A bit of neighbouring loud noise at the weekend but it is close to town & public areas. We had no problem with staff being jobsworth as previous reviews have stated, In fact we found them friendly & very helpful, a credit to Caravan Club staff....
Lovely site
Stayed here for one night on our way south. This was one of our favourite sites. Although there is no play area or dog walk on site, it is situated right next to a lovely open space with excellent play facilities for the kids and great for the dogs. Being next to the abbey, this is one of the more picturesque sites.
The town itself is lovely and a short walk away. The site is very well maintained and clean. The toilet blocks were perfectly clean if a bit dated.
We would definitely visit for longer next time.
Care where you pitch
We have used Tewkesbury numerous times and love the town and the nearby Abbey fields and play areas. Great for stop offs on longer trips down south. This time we pitched behind reception rather than further into site. This was a mistake as behind the hedge is the entrance to the park. Very noisy on Friday night, locals swearing after a good night out etc! Also very loud music until midnight from the town pubs. Dont let this stop you, lovely wardens and clean site -just choose your pitch carefully. Recommend local Wetherspoons; I was sceptical but food and real ale excellent value & quality.
Needs a little TLC
A well positioned site which is let down by the toilet blocks. The facilities were clean but rather tired and not what we have come to expect from the Caravan Club. At peak times the showers in block 'B' reduced to a mere dribble.
