Great site but

We stayed for 3 nights ,the wardens gave us the best welcome we have ever had,but there's 2 problems the toilet block is way to small for the size of the park and we had a noisy night due to a band playing in the cricket club next door, but don't be put off the abbey is stunning. Going back to the wardens they've done a great job on maintaining the site

Excellent location for Tewksbury

We stayed at this site for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were pitched on grass in the middle of the site which was convenient to the one toilet block. Having a motorhome, there were several signs dotted around the site warning of soft ground and for motorhomes to avoid those pitches. The staff were very welcoming and in one particular staff member, he went the 'extra mile' to identify an electrical fault on our unit which has since been rectified. Thank you, Sir. The facilities on site were kept clean and tidy and suited our needs. Nearby is the town with a pleasant walk from the site to town centre, passing the impressive Abbey. The town offers an abundance of quirky shops, pubs and cinema. We will be back!!

Could & should be much better

Over the past month we have staked at this site twice, once when visiting friends in the area and more recently one night on our way to South Devon. The Wardens are friendly and helpful and hard working. the all grass pitches must take a lot of looking after particularly during the wet weather we have recently encountered. The facilities appear to be short in numbers and are in desperate need of an upgrade as "firedamp" stated in an earlier post. The Town and Abbey are great and the nearby Wetherspoons, serves decent food at a reasonable price. Would use again but CC you need to look at an upgrade of the facilities before long!!

Lovely weekend not far from home

Just home from our first visit to this site, even though we only live 10 miles away in Evesham.  The location set by Tewkesbury abbey was beautiful and picturesque.  Five minutes walk from Tewkesbury town which is steeped in history.  Weather spoons is a no go if you have a doggie even in the garden so we went over the road to a a very old pub which welcomed dogs and even gave them biscuits.  Had a lovely afternoon chatting to other caravanners/motorhomers.  Tewkesbury town is lovely and has the usual shops and a Saturday market,  morrisons, tesco and aldi.   The wardens on the site work extremely hard even on Sunday's mowing, trimming and has a beautiful floral display by the office.  Yes the area outside the site is a little noisy at nights but suppose you are in a town and some towns are probably the same but we had a fab time and only 15mins to get home.

nice site but.....

Nice site but we felt that there was to few toilets for the amount of people staying for the men there are two toilet blocks one has two toilets the other has three and during the morning between 10 and 2 one of them is being cleaned so at times you are down to two loos for about 100 people . the site is clean the staff are excellent and cant do enough for you on the Saturday we stayed there was teenagers in the field next to the park drinking and playing very loud music other than that the holiday and the stay was excellent

Sadly disappointed

Having just unreseredly recommended a site this one is another matter. The Wardens are friendly and helpful and I am sure hard working but the age and state of the facilities must make their task difficult. They are in desparate need of updating. I also felt that there were too many units crammed in to what is a relatively small site and for the available facilities. That said the site is in easy walking distance to the town and Abbey

A little run down

We stayed here for just one night, it should have been three but it rained so hard, we were worried about getting our motorhome off the pitch. It would be good if it had some hard standing then we might have been able to stay longer. The shower block is looking a bit tired and in need of a complete overhaul, compared to other Caravan club sites it is quite poor. We have stayed at some private sites recently and tnese put some club sites to shame. It is in a really good position enabling you to walk into town where there are some great places to eat.

A lovely site, well placed, if a bit cramped.

Visited Sept 2013. Great position, central, with friendly wardens and a lovely flower display. The site does have a crowded feel though, with none of the open spaces seen on many cc sites. The shower block is also small, but immaculately kept. The Abbey clock and bells are such a mellow ring, we loved them. There is however the ever present distant drone from the M5, not loud but it’s there. Tewkesbury is right outside the site, a lovely town, full of history, an important area in the War of the roses, with some 300 listed buildings, many interesting, overhanging medieval ones and the lovely Abbey all close. Not forgetting the beautiful river and watermill and walks around to the marina. A great open market on a Wednesday and Saturdays get your fruit and veg there! Lots of local shops in the town, and Aldi and Morrison's a short drive away. Very good cycling in the area and lots to see nearby, but no small roads until you get well out of town. Overall a well kept and very well placed but cramped cc site.

Back to Tewkesbury

Always enjoy this site even though it's very busy. Knew I'd had a good night's sleep as I heard the Abbey bells ring twelve times at midnight and that was it, out like a light! Have family connections in the area so like having a walk around, the Abbey meadows are perfect for a stroll with the dogs. It's worth going over to the mill at Severn Ham behind the main street and joining the Severn Way with miles of walking to enjoy.

great site but arrive early

we stopped for three nights in early June en route for home we arrived just after 12 and were glad we did so this site is busy!! everyday more than half the site left and a new lot appeared this was very entertaining if you were staying, but dont arrive late, we'd see people do several laps of the site trying to find a pitch and this is a large site! as other reviewers have said this site is great for campers as no car is needed to visit the town. great riverside walks too. even with the caravan clubs high prices this year this is one to consider
