Visit to Tewkesbury

We had a lovely one night stop over in Tewkesbury Abbey site,The only downside to this site is it ia all grass pitches, which is not good in very wet conditions, but we were lucky the sun was shining. The site had a good toilet block, clean as you would expect from a club site, wardens were helpful, and site is perfect for visiting the abbey, and easy to walk into  the town.

First Visit

We used this site as a 2 night stop over and were delighted as so central to the Cathedral and town.  The site is very well maintained, and there is a beautiful flower display at the office entrance plus herbs to use for cooking.  The wardens very friendly.  The facilities perhaps not the best we have used, the hot water was hit and miss depending on which time of day you went, but overall very pleased and would definitely stay again.

Great center of Town site

We had a great 4 nights again on this CC site we came for the weekend of the Medieval Festival, it was a great site as you can walk to the battle site and any part of the town, the staff are very good and always helpful, the flowers at reception are to be seen as they are a pitcher at this time, (well done) Tewkesbury is a place that has a lot going for it and things to do and see.

Stopover

We stayed for one night on the way to Minehead and although the toilet block is old fashioned it was clean, very good positioned site for walking and exploring surrounding areas, would return, friendly wardens.

Dissapointed is the best way to put it!!!

Were should I start on this one... Arrived here for a 3 night stay got the pitch set up on initial arrival it appeared to be a ok site fairly busy, close to the centre of town we were on pitch 10 which personally I would advise anyone to avoid for 2 reasons one being the tv signal there is very poor I suspect the trees blocked the signal and two there is a drain at the rear of the pitch near the pitch marker and on occasions it stunk! There is a car park on the other side of the fence and which some of the locals would frequent as late as 3am revving up cars and motorbikes and being very noisy. The shower blocks are the worst I have seen on cc sites they are very outdated and not sufficient for the site. The wardens were very friendly and helpful here but unfortunately the site is not what I expect from the cc. Would not return here.

Needs updating

Stayed here on an overnight on the way to Somerset. Third visit in 5 years. It needs a revamp including hard standings. The recent rain had taken its toll and it was quite boggy in places. Toilet facilities are kept clean by the hard working wardens but they are battling a lost cause as the facilities need an upgrade. Lovely location although the adjacent roads are tight to drive down as the locals seem to want to park anywhere including double yellow lines. Until the last trip was thinking of using it as a base for a week to explore but don't think I will bother. As I say clean and tidy but tired. Good overnight stop though!

7 night stay JULY16.very enjoyable

i have been a regular annual visitor to this site for many years and love the location, however the amenities are in urgent need of a well overdue update.the water pressure is absolutely "ABYSMAL" it took an age to run enough water to wash some dishes.Having spoken to the wardens it appears that they suffer the same problem.Even the toilet cisterns take an age to refill.***PITY OUR CLUB CANT AFFORD TO PUT "WATER PUMPS " IN PLACE.*** The wardens are really great and hard working, the floral displays are again a credit to them. All being well i hope to return again next year,BUT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A SITE UPGRADE SOON..

Excelent Location

Overlooked by the Abby & only a short walk into town this is a stunning location. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Site is very clean & well kept. The site was dry even though we had lots of rain leading up to our visit, The only thing that lets the site down is the toilet blocks which need updating & expanding (to small).

Perfect

Stayed 2 nights at this site 08/07/2016 very easy site to find and the location on the edge of the town is perfect. Easy to book in the staff are very friendly and helpful, the site was busy so took a while to find a pitch. Ground staff very polite when cutting the grass and edge. Very clean site well looked after and the facilities are excellent, it dosen't matter where you pitch you will be close to the facilites. I was worried that there isn't a dog walk on site but I shouldn't have as when you go outside the gate 20 meters and you have the biggest dog walk. the Crossaints whihc are baked in the morning are a must. If you look on the web there are only 2 pubs that accept dogs but the staff advised us to go to the bell which is a very nice pub with good value food. the abbey is just outside the site and well worth a visit. All in all canot fault ths site or location will be returning soon.
