Convenience scores over facilities

Easy to access from the M5 so an ideal site en route to southern resorts and ferries.  Great also as a base for exploring the Cotswolds and Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Forest of Dean. We found lots to do in the area, and Tewksbury itself is a charming town. The site is well placed for an easy stroll into town for shopping, eating and drinking;peaceful enough for just relaxing....what more could you want from a site? Well caravan club- this site would benefit from extending the facilities, which although adequate, fall behind many other sites visited. The staff at Tewksbury are friendly and helpful...we love it here!

Tewksbury

First time, so first impressions. Good access and good location. Wardens very good . The site is uneven and the wardens did their best to move the pegs along so as to park the 'vans on the bare patches left by folk not lifting their groundsheets. Some of the pitches are awful as they are too close to the road and sideways on, some didn't seem to have much space between and the tent pitched were under tall pine trees. The water pressure is low, it takes an age to fill the water butt. The toilet block is bad, clean but bad, it not only needs doing up but extending, there is room on both blocks. At the moment the site is one of the "cheaper " ones so I expect once they refurbish it , it will become expensive like the others. Out side the site is a play park and a big field for the dogs and kiddies. The bells are not too bad , they do go all night but only as loud as a chiming clock. the evening they did the bell ringing was a bit much but it was only one evening. The weather was good so no worries about the site flooding, however if it does I believe you get a two hour warning. It is used for a stop over by many many people as it's just off the M5.

Good location

This review will sing the same most others, the site is in a very good location next to the abbey (it's an abbey there are going to be bells ringing), more importantly it is a busy site with a desperate need for investment from the caravan club, loose slabs around the toilet blocks, toilets whose cisterns won't fill quickly enough to re-flush and very very dated but generally clean as can be toilet blocks, the pedestrian entrance is located in the middle of the entry and exit gates with no marked walk ways which must be a accident waiting to happen, however a piece of red and white tape and a black board instructing pedestrians did appear while we were here so maybe it nearly did. Overall a very nice site well maintained by the polite wardens but in need of investment from the club and this could be a perfect 10 site.

Great Location, however you have to like church bells all night.

Amazing location next to Abbey in a amazing town however you have to like church bells all night. Toilet facilities little dated and are in desperate need of refurbishment with more showers, but most importantly very clean. otherwise a great site within walking distance of a good range of restaurants & pubs. So relaxing and great to watch the coming and goings everyday of people passing through. Staff so very welcoming and attentive. Looking forward to returning. Good site

Busy the day we got there. Had to wait for a shower. One of the blocks ran out of water which became unusable. Great location for the Abbey and Town. Regardless would stop there again. Good facilities and well maintained. Good and very pleasant staff.

Outstanding site

This site is a gem. Close to Tewkesbury, it is well worth a visit. It is well maintained and in a lovely location. I do not recognise some of the comments on previous reviews. We were there on a busy weekend and whilst it was full, it did not appear crowded. Showers and water were hot. The facilities are well kept and in my opinion more than adequate. May be we caravanners should concentrate on leaving the facilities in a state we would wish to find them. Clean sinks. Clean toilets. To often sinks and toilets are left in a disgusting state by the previous user. It takes little effort to use a toilet brush and wash the sinks out. It is not the wardens job to clear up after us!

One night stopover

Stayed here on a Saturday night. These site is first class, clean and well kept. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. A short stroll takes you into Tewkesbury town with a wealth of pubs and restaurants. Only negative was noise from teenagers from the open ground next to the site later on at night . But I suppose it was a Saturday night and the fact that the wardens gated the site entrance at 11pm, made the site feel secure. Would stay here again for longer.

Recent Stay

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the site. Well looked after, despite being very busy. Located so close to the town centre was a bonus as we could use the local buses to enjoy days out in Gloucester and Evesham. Lots to enjoy in Tewkesbury, too. Loved the floral displays outside the shop/office - well done to the Wardens.
