what a great site

Tewkesbury is an absolute gem. Within walking distance of the town and all its amenities. Although it's a family site it's so quiet in fact you can hear a pin drop. Amenities are spotless. Staff were a pleasure. All in all ......fantastic site and we will be back.

1st Visit to Tewkesbury

On arrival we were guided into the waiting areas so we could book in. Booking in all OK except a bit surprised the wardens didn't indicate the available pitches on the site map. So its a bit of a mystery tour finding a vacant pitch especially being our 1st visit. Toilet facilities although older are kept clean and tidy. Grass cutting could be done when pitches are vacated so the grass looks neat and tidy. Overall a busy site (especially weekends) but a great location and we intend to visit again.

Good for stopover

We stayed just one Saturday night on home ward journey so only used as a stopover, we were going to go to Broadway but at over £30.00 a night they had no chance. This site is very well placed as it's so close to the town centre and well within walking distance for most people, however the noise from around the perimeter at all hours will deter us from visiting here again. We were woken throughout the night by shouting and swearing and were so glad to get home for a peaceful nights sleep. This is obviously no fault of the site but not what we want from a facility.

A very pleasant stay.

We were recommended to the site by friends who met us on site. You can not wish for a site situated closer to the local town ammeneties, however the hustle and bustle of the town did not impinge on the site. Dog walks a dream with acres of space to be enjoyed by the dogs and their owners. The site its self is prone to flooding but the friendly helpful staff will guide you in the right direction. A very secure, friendly and well maintained site, joy to visit.

Odd place but ultimately enjoyed it

I'm going to explain my ratings.... overall is just an averaging out of the rest ... I hope that's clear to all. So why? It would have been a lovely peaceful site with the odd crack of leather on willow and abbey bells aside (I loved both of those) but there was clearly a housing estate behind us and all hours of the day & night we had loud & obscene language or cars / bikes being driven in what seemed to be an aggressive manner - so 2 for peace & quiet. Facilities & cleanliness get 3. It was clean but why do the toilet blocks need to be shut for 1.5 hrs at what I consider prime mid-morning time? Also, I'd expected to be told my pitch number instead I was told 'find any free white peg' bit random and at busy times I could see folks driving round and round...! The pitch we ended up with was fine though but wifi clearly was weak in this corner and to be charged £10 for extremely poor reception & login problems is beyond the pale - personally I don't see why wifi isn't included in the cost and if you want more then 2 devices then you pay. As a network engineer I don't buy the line that it's expensive to install and maintain. I know it's a set and forget system. Location gets a 4 because it was a lovely place to be and good for families is down at 3 - really need a half point then it would be 2.5 and this is because there is nowhere set aside for families to let their kids stretch legs without running through someone else's pitch. .... it may sound like I didn't enjoy it - as a family we did. We loved Tewkesbury, loved the cricket noises and loved the Abbey and its bells and east access to other places... didn't enjoy expensive and $%^& % wifi, cramped pitches, random choice of pitch or the unwelcome noises every day. Would we go again? No but only becasue we try not to do the same place twice.

Great site

This was the first time that we have used this site. Very easy to get to from the south if England. Very friendly and helpful wardens. Although the toilet blocks are a little tired, considering that the site was full most of the week that we stayed there, they were kept clean and if there were any problems they were dealt with quickly.

Brilliant site, shame about the noise.

Friendliest wardens I have ever met. Lovely clean site, beautiful setting. Really easy 5 minute walk to High Street. In the shadow of a beautiful Abbey. Extensive dog walks right outside the gate. Play park and fitness park 2 mins from gate. So what's the problem? There are tracks /footpaths around the outside of the site, if the weather is warm the park gets busy well into the night. 2am last night, shouting, foul language for about 20 minutes. It's now 11pm and still noisy. Would I come back? Yes but only in the colder months.

Charming

We visited the Tewkesbury site not sure what to expect. The weather forecast was rain, and we had read that the site floods! On arrival the staff were very cheerful and helpful, tell me that the site floods when the rivers burst their banks ( so as long as there are no flood warnings things are fine) some of the pitches do hold water , but the site is so well maintain that any pitches holding water are marked out of use. We really had no need to worry. The toilet blocks are very clean but dated, the site is beautiful in the shadow of the abbey. The staff are friendly and helpful. The town is on the doorstep of the site. There are some lovely dog walks around the historical location. We are a middle aged couple with our labradoodle and we will definitely be back.

Good location

A well managed, tidy site. First time visit and its a busy site. But understandably so. Its so well located, close enough to motorways to drop into going north or south. Comfortable, but pitches may be tighter than some other caravan club sites. Minor criticism would be "why the need to cut grass on Sundays" when its so peaceful ( some may disagree with the noise from the bells from the abbey next to the site......which we love!)  Otherwise a delightful stay.  We will be back.
