First time here........

And hopefully won't be the last! The staff are friendly and approachable. They warned us about the shower block on the way in, but i have to say there wasn't an issue, they were always clean and we didn't mind the 70's tiling 😀 The only issue was in the evening on the public carpark next door, young people "razzing" cars around, trying their best to do doughnuts not very successfully! When we mentioned it to the staff they had already contacted the police to hopefully crack down on it. So you can't really hold that against the site. All in all we had a lovely few days in glorious weather and hopefully will be back.

Lovely site, good location

We stayed here for 3 nights and found the site to be well kept and looked after. The wardens are friendly and always working. Nice to be so close to the town. We will defiantly be coming back.

Nice site, well located.

We stayed just for the weekend. We found it all clean and tidy (never looked at the toilets/showers etc) and also liked the convenience of being close to the town. I understand the site is closing later this year to be upgrades. Gravel pitches, services pitches etc. We'll look forward to returning to try that out. Handy for the abbey, concerts etc.

Lovely Site

We stayed here in April for an overnight stay as we were on our way to Somerset. Not only is this a nice site but we managed to stay here for free as we had a voucher to use, extremely good of them to take the voucher as we were only there for the one night. The site is well secure, clean and staff are very helpful it is also good for a nice walk into the town where you can find almost anything . Nice places to eat and drink and a visit to the Abbey is good to. We will definitely go back there for longer.

Outstanding situation, located in a tradtional English market town

The sites location is within an easy stroll of this country town. The site has large grass plots, is extremely clean and well organized with a very welcoming and friendly team that both greet you and offer advice for your stay. Literally within 100 yards is the marvelous Abby which is an architectural marvel steeped in history. Restaurants, pups and coffee shops are abundant within the traditional high street with its many original Tudor buildings that include 3 excellent Museums. Markets are held in a square twice weekly and the canal barges and river trips are available on the river Avon with the usual locks, weirs and marina all within a stones throw. There is an excellent modern arts and entertainment center which offers a range of films, plays, operas and arts on a regular basis which are all well advertised. This is without doubt one of the best kept secret location in the country, with so much to do in the immediate vicinity and so much more to do within a short drive or bike ride. Please do not tell everyone and spoil it!

Great Site ... But

This is a great site in a great area - with friendly and helpful Wardens. The site is within walking distance to the small town centre and is only a short drive away from many of the attractions of the surrounding area. Two drawbacks:- 1. As many others have said, the toilet blocks are in dire need of an update. The Wardens keep them very clean but the blocks themselves are well past their best. My view is that the money the Club spent on the recent "re-brand" would have been better spent on improving this site (and others) - but that's a different topic ! 2. The Church bells ring every 15 minutes - even through the night. On occasion, they kept me and my wife awake ! If I made that sort of noise at night (or in the day for that matter), I would deservedly be up on a charge. However, you should not let the above two points stop you from visiting.

The season has started

First stay of the season and this site works so well for March with its location. The weather did make the site very soft and many of the pitches were unavailable, particularly for Motorhomes. But, the staff were excellent, even helping us to get off the pitch at the end of the week. The location is perfect with only a 5 minute walk into town, well served with buses and restaurants and the Abbey is a must see. Just one negative - the toilet blocks were not up to the standard we are used to and the refurbishment can't come soon enough, and then we'll be back.

Lovely Site, grass a bit soft.

This is our first site in our motorhome, we stayed for two nights The site is easy to find and the staff are very pleasant. Even to grumpy people who've just got out of a motorhome after a 4 hours drive. The staff were helpful, if a little chaotic in finding the pitch. It would have been very helpful if the electric boxes had instructions on so you knew how to turn them on (plug in and twist the plug to the right, to unplug press the red button and unplug). The grass was quite soft so after finding a level after a day the motorhome had sunk in a bit squiffy. The toilets and showers were clean and well laid out. The location is in a lovely location less than two minutes walk from the very centre of Tewkesbury with a proper market town with shops, restaurants and pubs close by. The Abbey is visible from the site and makes a nice backdrop at night. I would be very happy to stay here again.
