A magnificent site

Never have we received a more lovely welcome; an accident on the M5 made us 2 hours late for the defined check-in time; the lady Warden took it absolutely in her stride and came over from her motorhome to let us in. Another warden (her husband) helped us out with an electrics issue when leaving so from start to finish this was a fine example of human kindness way beyond the call of duty. This site is wonderfully situated - we had wanted to visit the Abbey for years and were not disappointed. The shopping was also good and very close. It is without equal for dog-walking facilities - just opposite the entrance is a vast park where they can romp around without leads in perfect safety. We would have given 5 stars for everything (we only awarded 4 for peace and quiet) if the mower had been a little quieter but in fairness there was a huge and immaculate area of grass. What a lovely experience - thank you Mrs and Mr Warden!

Weekend stay

We stayed here for two nights and what a fantastic time we had. The location couldn't be more perfect for walking into town and to the Abbey. The staff at the site however really did make the stay. They were all so helpful and friendly, checking in and advising, they really couldn't do enough. We've stayed at a fair few sites and the staff here are the most helpful and cheery we've come across! As with other reviewers, the toilet block could do with some updating, but it was always clean. Fabulous stay and 10/10 to all the staff there!

Easter in Tewkesbury

We stayed for a week and had a good time. The site is in a beautiful location and is so convenient for the town. The facilities are dated but so well kept by the very friendly wardens. It was busy over the holiday and there seemed to be more dogs than people on site. I got fed up of people walking dogs on very very long leads. I suggest the club asks dog owners to always keep dogs on short leads on site. Sort of spoit things for us,

Overnight stay

We stayed just for the one night on our way home from visiting friends the site is convenient for motorway connections and close to the town. It's an easy walk into town where there are shops and cafes Tewksbury is I lovely place and worth a visit. The site is well maintained but the shower blocks really need to be brought into the 21st century - the shower cubicles are quite small as are the toilet cubicles but they are spotlessly clean and as with all club sites there's always plenty of hot water to shower. Wish there where some hard standing pitches as we motorhomeres seem to prefer gravel to grass but all in all a good site.

Below the Expected Standard

This site is in an excellent location, overlooked by the Abbey and a few minutes stroll into town. Tewkesbury has a fascinating history, dog friendly pubs, marina, interesting shops. It is, however, easy to overlook that the CMC site is aged and the toilet and shower blocks are well below the standard expected of Club sites, even the EHU bollards have seen better days. The site is due for refurbishment in the coming winter but the club is continuing to charge prices as if it has full standard facilities. We have marked the overall rating down due to this and due to an encounter with an over officious warden who seemed to be a throwback to the old days where they could order customers what to do.

The bells

Practically camped at the foot of the abbey is beautiful until you want a Sunday morning lay in. The bell ringers go on for ages. Situated in the middle of a council estate lends for an unsavourable view from the one direction. Wardens are great very helpful. No tv coverage where we were. People with sky dishes or masts like the Ifle tower probably managed ok. Probably won't stay here again

Nice site - a shame about the unexpected neighbours!

We stayed from 6.4.17-13.4.17. The staff were super - friendly, efficient and supportive, especially when several travelers' caravans turned up part way through our stay and encamped on the rugby club car park next to the site. The staff made safety and security an immediate priority; rightly so, as having been able to walk our dogs safely on the Vineyard park adjacent to the site we were unable to do so once the travelers had arrived - it was not pleasant to have sticks and stones thrown at us and the dogs for no obvious reason! It may be worth the Caravan & Motorhome Club, the Rugby Club and the Town Council getting their heads together to try to prevent further disruption. The site was very clean but the facilities are dated. When the upgrade occurs it would be worth considering installing a dog shower. The site itself was peaceful but the adjacent rugby club does mean some fairly raucous background noise at times! The shop is well stocked and the information room very useful.

Excellent relaxing site

Stayed at Tewkesbury site for three nights. Very well maintained site, toilet/shower blocks very clean, heated. Some may say they need updating but everything you need is catered for. Friendly staff, essential groceries available, Tewkesbury has plenty of shops etc. Pub meals very good, plenty of take away shops. I will be returning to this well cared for site.

Lovely relaxed site

Staff helpful and friendly, super close to town so great for those with disabilities to access all the local amenities. Lovely to have a grassed site with no hard standing- easy on the eyes (and the feet). Weather was stunning - which always helps 😀 Looking forwards to our next visit
