What an excellent site. Fantastic location for Tewkesbury and the Abbey. Brilliant off site dog walk with acres of fields (and a cooling down river🐶)
Spotlessly clean well maintained site & toilet block and very friendly, helpful wardens. - Oh yes and an amazing floral display on the office wall area😁.
We’ll definitely return.👍🏻.
Peaceful it ain’t
Everything up to the usual standard of Caravan Club. Brilliant location. Wardens friendly and helpful. Good for dogs as parks just outside the site. Our first time here. Settled down on Thursday, hottest day of year. At approx. 6 pm, Abbey bell ringers started. It’s nice to hear church bells, but these went on until 9.30 pm. Had breaks of about 5 mins, thought they had finished, but then they started again. The next day, someone started practicing their recorder for approx. An hour, and they really did need the practice! That stopped and then the local cricket or rugby club had an outdoor presentation and party, which was loud and a lot of cheering. Although not near to us, when going to reception or the toilet block, there was a group who were playing loud music, you might know the type, no tune just bass blaring. The last night, the pitch two along from ours, decided to have a gathering, loud talking, laughing and swearing starting at about 9.30 pm and ending at 4 o’clock in the morning hence very little sleep. On leaving, we informed the wardens and they did say that we could have contacted them 24 hours, the number was on the back of the site map which we didn’t realise at the time. Obviously the bells and the cricket club are out of their control.

Twee and fab for old codgers
Well my wife had her first hot shower here since the refurbishment.
The new facility block is modern but unfortunately only has access from one side only.
On our side you had a long walk around all the pitches. There should be easy access from both sides hence the blackboard warning at the gate about not walking through (quite rightly so) other peoples pitches.
Overall the newness is twee and the site has lost a lot of its old character.
However it’s neat very clean and friendly with hard working wardens who never sit still!

great location
Used as a stopover from Chesterfield to south Wales. Easy to find and easy to access from M50/M5. Site good for walking into Tewkesbury and accessing bus services.
Wardens very friendly and helpful and have clearly worked hard to make the site look lovely with all the flower displays and maintaining all the on-site services. I much prefer toilet blocks being cleaned after dinner, as was the case here, as closures mid morning always seems to be when I want to use the shower.
We were on the new multi purpose pitch and didn't feel cramped or hemmed in by other people's outfits.
We wanted to stay a few extra days and wardens tried hard to keep an eye out for cancellations but sadly there weren't any before we had to make the decision to leave as planned.
We will definitely be back to explore the area a little more- if we can get a pitch !
Thank you to all the wardens- you do a good job !
Great location booking difficult
We have stayed at tewkesbury a number of times the site is well maintained and very close to the lovely town that is full of friendly people
The wardens are excellent
On the negative side because members can book ahead without paying a deposit the site gets booked up
As long as people cancel with 72 hours notice it is OK but this means that new bookers have only 72 hours notice to try to plan their trips.
We could only book 4 days as the site was full but we wanted to stay 8 days so we were constantly looking for late cancellations which we eventually managed to get but had to change pitches 3 times.
I am sure that taking a deposit on booking would reduce the number of cancellations and reduce block booking making the site more available to more members
Almost every site in the UK takes a deposit but not the caravan and motorhome club

Visit every year
We are participants in the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival and have been using this site for a few years now. The site is clean and tidy and peaceful. The wardens are always friendly and helpful. It is situated behind the ancient Abbey and just a very short walk into the medieval town centre. We have 2 dogs and many of the pubs in the town are dog friendly, and there are lovely areas close to the site, where dogs can be exercised and there are disposal bins at the site entrance.
Stop over enroute to france
We chose this site as it was in between Yorkshire and Plymouth for our hols in France, excellent facilities and close to good restaurants.
On the way down to Plymouth we encountered a problem where our caravan came off its hitch, abig thank you to the fellow campers who assisted getting us on our way.
The return trip was delayed by road works so we arrived late, but as we had phoned ahead staff were available to help when we arrived which was very much appreciated so thank you
Great site with a brass band playing in front of the abbey and sun shine around.wll use again

Lovely Site; Excellent Location
Stayed here for two nights on our way home, so a perfect stopover point.
Perfect location, not far off M5 and very close to town centre.
The Abbey is right on the doorstep and worth a visit. Dogs are allowed inside.
The town is close and very quaint with a selection of traditional style black & white pubs. Most welcome dogs, with the exception of the Old Hop Pole, a Wetherspoons establishment, where our way to the beer garden was barred and told in no uncertain terms that dogs weren’t allowed.
There are nice walks by the river very close by.
The new shower and toilet block is very good and very clean.
Plenty of waste areas, all having a separate dog bin.
The pitches are quite close together although I’ve seen worse. It wasn’t a problem as everyone was very friendly and we got to meet some great people.
The landscaping of the site is quite good and will be better once established. We loved the creative use of old plastic bottles, cut open and planted with flowers fixed to the wall by reception. Top marks for recycling
Staff are very friendly and constantly working on the site keeping it clean, tidy and presentable
Overall, a lovely site in a great location
First stop on our 2019 Tour
We chose to visit this site to break our journey from Sheffield/Chesterfield to South Wales. We booked two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The site was so friendly, the facilities immaculate and Tewkesbury is nice if you just want a mooch around. The weather was lovely which was a bonus. And the wardens were great. The only down side was finding somewhere decent to eat. We ate at The Bell. We were the first to be served at around 6pm and the food was just about lukewarm. We hate making a fuss but when the waitress asked if everything was ok and we mentioned the food was cold she looked at us with surprise, walked away and that was the end of that. Regardless of this the Tewkesbury site is one we will add to our long weekend list.
Great site
We love Tewkesbury Abbey site for a number of reasons. Firstly, it really is a five minute stroll into Tewkesbury, unlike many sites that claim the name of the nearest town, no matter how far away that may be. Secondly, we love grass pitches but take on board the last reviewer’s comments especially when the site is prone to flooding. The site had been flooded when we stayed but the ground was drying out very quickly.
Tewkesbury is a lovely little town with many walks nearby which are easily accessible from the site. There is a choice of two river trips, one around the town and the other to the Fleet Inn about 3 miles down the river, we took the latter and walked back (after a spot of lunch).
The facilities block on site is quite new and absolutely immaculate. There are plentiful showers, toilets and privacy cubicles, I never saw a queue, even though the site was pretty full. It doesn’t take too much to make me happy so I cannot understate my delight when I discovered the facilities block is cleaned during the afternoon, yes, when the minority of people want to use it. I would give Tewkesbury Abbey site 5 stars for this alone! Well done the site managers.
