Clean amd tidy site.

138 pitches. Long walk to shower block along the one way road. See visitors book on site for comments, why no walk ways across new plant beds? Expensive site.

Great site for stop over

Travelling from west Wales to South Yorkshire is quite a trek. This site was perfect. Close to M5 , easy access, fields for dog walking, clean facilities. It was very busy when I stayed and the pitches were quite close together so would not be suitable for me and my two cockers for a longer stay. We need more space and less intrusive pitches. Pity I had to be told by an overly officious warden that I needed to move two feet further away from the peg. He also made it worse by calling me “love” while he was pointing out my parking error. Would use this site as a stop over again. Nothing much to shout about in Tewkesbury.

Amazing wardens

We stayed here last weekend 31st May arrival within 2 hrs I was at the Gloucester Veterinary Hospital as my dog was run over by a cyclist in the park opposite. Hugh thanks to the staff on this site for their concerns and the help of Debbie who although she thinks she did nothing she probably saved my dogs life as not knowing the area I didn't know where to turn to. I hope the people who manage the sites read this as the staff on this site can't be bettered. Thankfully the dog is going to make a full physical recovery just going to take time mentally as he is was in hospital for 2 nights. I am coming back to Tewksbury on the 7th July so hopefully I will be able to put a proper review then. P.S Mick you are a legend sir

New facilities but now somewhat spoilt

Although this site has had a lot of money revamping it, the site has been spoilt in our opinion. There is only one toilet block now, so anyone pitching around the edges of the site has a long winding way to walk to the facilities. (Horrible for families with children in the wet). All the fully serviced pitches are directly around the facilities block ! Why? Could they not have been dispersed. Now the site has a crowded feel to it when nearly full, with some pitches very small, (still regulation legal). If pitched on the public footpath side of the site (from town to housing estate) there can be much noise from the public using this at all times of the night. The site is in a fantastic position in relation to the town. Just walk outside the gate and there is the Abbey and the high street with plenty on offer. The wardens are lovely so are the floral displays. Shame these changes have been made without apparent consultation with the users. Rod & Mary

Fabulous

We stayed here for the first time. Checking in was easy really nice friendly wardens. We had a grass pitch which was nice & big. The site is lovely and clean the facilities immaculate. Loved the outside of the reception the flowers in old plastic bottles looked so nice. Location was great 5 min walk into tewkesbury which was nice . We went for a walk which was nice. It did help with the weather. We would definitely come back.

Great choice for the Bank Holiday

This was our first visit and booked for it’s location close to Gloucester for theTall Ships Festival. Bus service excellent although very busy on a bank holiday Saturday. The site provided everything we required. A good pitch with room for a car and awning, super clean wash blocks and no need to queue as there were ample showers. The wardens were friendly and efficient with a nice sense of humour. The floral display was the best I have seen on a club site the ingenious use of plastic bottles for potting took recycling to a new level. The location and it’s easy access to the town centre means that shops, pubs and restaurants are all only a short walk away. There are some pleasant walks close to the river and the Abbey well worth a visit. A site to return to and despite its location close to the town, surprisingly quiet and peaceful.

Concern

We have recently returned from a wonderful few days at this lovely site. The Wardens were excellent, friendly and extremely helpful. We did try to get a Service Pitch but were told none were available, which is fair enough as they are becoming very popular. We had a great pitch which was very handy for the toilet block and the service point. However, I did become somewhat frustrated to find five Service Pitches being used by Motorhomes, which were only connected to the Electric Hook Up. I hear what you say that if they wish to spend the extra money so be it. But is this fair? When members like us would like to be able to use the full facilities of a Service Pitch, but prevented from doing so. This is not the first time I have seen this happening.

Good Site

We visited in our caravan for a mid-week break at the end of April. We had booked a grass pitch and chose No 14 which was flat and firm. We nosed-in to catch the sun on our awning for most of the day. We estimate the site was 75% full with the various non-grass pitches very popular. We did not find it too crowded (we’ve stayed at Cheddar!) but noted some pitches would be quite close (nose-to-nose) when the site is full. The site has the great advantage of being in a town with plenty of eateries and shops within a short walking distance. Details of some excellent leisure walks which start from the site can be obtained from reception. Being within a town the site is surrounded by town features (houses, car park, playing fields) and some ‘external’ noise is inevitable but at no time was it intrusive or bothered us. The new toilet and shower block was as good as any (and better than many) other Club facilities; never too busy and always clean. If proximity to the block is important, don’t confuse line-of-site with distance to travel – the planting is/will be very nice but represents a significant detour for all visits, including washing-up, etc. A cut-through would have been nice (and avoided the need for signs about walking on planted areas and others’ pitches) but would have cost a couple of pitches. Complaining (along with others here) about the door handle may seem trivial but it is difficult to operate, especially with small and/or arthritic hands. The issue could so easily have been avoided and could so easily be now corrected (please). We considered this to be a good site which is well maintained by a team of friendly and helpful wardens and we would stay again if in the area.
