one night

Having been at Baltic Wharf for a few days we decided on 1 night on way home.choice of pitch quick sort out and in to town. What I thought was a nice meal at Nottingham Arms.Back to site and 4 hours later really ill never been so bad.Really nice wardens (mick & jo).Opened gates and 999 crew soon arrived.Very calm and helpful,Dont know what we would have done without them,a credit to the caravan club, appreciated not having to rush to leave at noon, came to check I was okay as we left.dread to think if I hadn't got to toilet block when I did !!!.

Catherine n Graham one of our favorite sites

The one thing I was very disappointed with was the WiFi, I was going to get it for a year, but decided on a week, Glad I did it was Terrible kept going off cudnt get on, I know its not the Clubs but it goes through Club, they promote it complained but got absolutely no where, "Air Angel" it has happened before with another Club same thing, so be warned go to Costa!

First visit and won’t be our last

Had a great three days at this site on our way to Cornwall. The site wardens were some of the friendliest we have ever met and the facilities were kept spotless. The band system worked well too. The site’s location is great being so close to the town and the Abbey. Plenty of walks along the river and the walk around the Ham is a must. We cycled to Gloucester Docks via the NCN 45 which was easy/moderate and took in plenty of quiet roads. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely site

One of the nicest sites we have stayed at. It is wonderfully located near the beautiful Abbey. It is well looked after by really lovely friendly staff. Tewkesbury itself is charming and welll worth exploring. There are also some lovely nearby walks.

Full House

Love this site and the wardens are great. Its my second visit since Covid restrictions and the toilet block rationing was working well except at peak times. The new facilities are to a very good standard but I wonder whether the Club did the right thing building one central facility block on such a large site. Its a very long walk from many of the pitches to get a shower etc. Also noted that the ramp designed, no doubt, with disabled in mind, is at the opposite end of the building to the disabled toilet. So it's long journey for anyone in a wheelchair once they get up the ramp.. The site was full throughout my stay and I noticed a number of units circling the site looking for pitches. This is one of many sites where it's difficult to book a pitch with the increased popularity of staycation, and its a site that welcomes non members. Maybe this site along with many other popular sites should become 'members only? Despite being full the site was quiet and a great place to relax in a lovely setting

Nice open site and good location for the town, walks and buses

Our last visit to this site was just prior to the re-fit and make-over and we were very pleasantly surprised at the outcome! A little more open than we remembered having lost a few of the trees but overall the site had a really nice feel. Even with the present restrictions and the site being very busy the wardens had a smile and a warm welcome! We went with a hard standing pitch and the paving blocks may not be to everyone's liking but it makes siting your van very easy and obviously with the flooding potential it makes sense as do the high level electric points. Agreeing with the previous reviews the town is sadly looking somewhat tired (as many are) however there are lots of eateries to choose from. There is good walking from the site either along river banks and fields and also short walk following the 'Battle Trail' is very interesting. The main facility building looked well kept and thought out although with the present situation we opted to use our own. Will certainly be back.

Good location, but more hardstandings needed

Pleasing to the eye site, well run, and ideal for Tewksbury. Town has seen a lot better days looking at the buildings, but like many smaller towns is looking run down. Good eating locations close to site, bus regularly to Cheltenham which is worth a visit. Pitches were another matter...hard pitches by far in most demand, and looking at some of the well boggy grass pitches not surprising. More hard pitches needed especially at this site as is prone to waterlogging. Otherwise good site, would go back, but not in any hurry...shame really.

Perfect for us

Arrivals are dealt with efficiently and with with a smile, and the site at the time of our stay was well maintained. This being our third visit to the site we had a good idea where we wanted to pitch and found pitch no' 50 available. Close to a service point, it suited us very well, and as we use our own facilities the distance from the toilet block didn't bother us. I think we were lucky because I believe there were 64 departures that day, so there were plenty of pitches to choose from. During our three night stay, we did see some arrivals driving round in search of a pitch, so as mentioned by others, I see this does happen, but it is a very busy site so it should come as no surprise that choice of pitch might be limited. We can only speak for ourselves, that we had a lovely, peaceful stay, and will visit again in future.

Strange layout

We have just spent 5 nights on Tewksbury Abbey, on arrival we were met at the gate by one of the friendly wardens who asked us to find a pitch & inform reception, that is were the fun began! Due to the odd layout of the site a lot of the grass pitches are hard to spot first time around & even second & third! We eventually found a pitch we thought would be ok, but we were proved wrong after a few rain showers & wish we had brought the welly boots The pitch we chose backed on to a public car park that was visited most evenings by the local boy racer club for drift practice, this mostly only lasted for a couple of minutes except for our last night when they decided to stay a while longer (0030) to listen to blaring music & sing along to Rick Astley, “Never going to give you up” Which I found very bizarre! On the whole it’s a nice site, very well located for Tewksbury Abbey & the town, a good site to cycle from with some nice flat routes
