Just back home following a weeks stay with our granddaughter having visited previously in the 2017 school summer holidays . We found both sets of wardens very helpful and friendly. Yes, the toilet block is showing its age, but was still very clean and serviceable and no doubt will be vastly improved once the forthcoming site renovations are completed. The many children on site were a credit to their parents and all children seemed to be playing nicely with each other and enjoying being able to ride their bikes in a safe environment, whilst respecting the wishes of adults on holiday. I am sure our granddaughter wasn't the only child who preferred to stay on site and play with her new found friends rather than go out for the day. The children were very polite and courteous when spoken to by adults. Our only gripe was the vast number of members who totally disregard the 5mph speed limit around the site. If members drove in 1st gear the 5mph limit is not a problem, but you could hear cars moving into 2nd gear and on many occasions 3rd gear which indicates that they must be traveling at least 15mph to 20mph. The site was quite busy with mostly grandparents and their grandchildren and from my observations it was these senior members who were the worst speeding culprits. When we did venture out we went to the lovely sandy beaches at Sandilands and Sutton on Sea. On departure our granddaughter asked if she could come again next year which I guess is the best recommendation the site could have.

Where to start.
This is one of the best sites that we have been.
It was lovely and peaceful but the children all played together.
The facilities are not the most modern but they all worked perfectly. Never had to wait for the shower and always plenty of hot water.
Facilities were always clean.
The beach is about three quarters of a mile but I would recommend Huttoft Car Terrace you can park you car vitully on the beach. Dogs are welcome.
The sea was lovely and warm and safe for children once out past the steep slope at the top of the beach.
Skegness raceway good for a night out watching the stock cars
For a great dog out try Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre plenty to do including a Lancaster Bomber and a set up of bomber command. Great value for £21 for a family ticket, our boys loved it.
Lovel site
This was our third visit to this site, and we were not disappointed with the cleanliness of the site, and the wardens were very friendly and helpful.I hope they don't spoil the site with the refurb and try to cram more vans in.
the only complaint I have is the speedway around the site from the children on their bikes and going in and out of the pitches, surely the speed limit applies to bikes as well it was very dangerous and nobody in charge said anything.
Sutton-on-sea lovely
Enjoyed our two night stay and wish we had booked for longer. The site is due a major refurbishment in September and expects to open again in July next year. Already booked a longer stay when it reopens in July 2019. Looks like there will be a new toilet block, improved site roads and new fully serviced pitches in the middle. Please do not ruin this lovely site by cramming as many units into it as you can. Our recent visit to Tewkesbury Abbey by example was a very disappointing experience after refurbishment. Meanwhile, a lovely site team with a well stocked reception shop. The staff work extremely hard to keep the present facilities clean and presentable and were very approachable. A 20 minute walk to the beach which was delightful. A dog walk on site during the refurbishment, even if small, would be most welcome as the local roads are getting quite busy especially in the early mornings and evenings. Looking forward to our visit next year.
July 2018
Whilst this is a standard Club site with all the usual facilities, our holiday was ruined by constant dog barking. The number of dogs on this site was excessive. The van next to us brought five dogs that barked constantly and at the slightest provocation. Further along was another van with two dogs that barked constantly, the owners seeming to find this pleasurable. After speaking to the wardens we moved to a pitch at the other end of the site but two vans arrived shortly after, both with dogs that barked constantly. We also witnessed some dog owners allowing their dogs to urinate on vacant pitches instead of taking them off site. We reported all this to the Club but they don’t want to know. In response they said the Club tries to provide enjoyment for all but clearly it fails to do this by prioritising dogs enjoyment over humans. It has to be said that most dogs on the site were well behaved and quiet. It’s always the irresponsible few that spoil it for everyone. We will not be using this site again.
First time out with new caravan
Chose this site as it is closest to home and wanted to check out new caravan. Was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities although they could do with an update. The site was handy for trip into Sutton itself which was very busy as the weather was very good. Only downside was the number of pigeons which liked to wake up quite early and walk across the van!
July stay 2018
I have been going to Sutton-on-Sea Hawthorn farm site for over 20 years but it become quite relaxed and dirty, it’s a dog friendly site however the dog owners are not child friendly letting their dogs foul the grass tied up at the end of a 20 foot+ leads . The wardens are very relaxed with the site rules regarding dogs, regardless of the germs they carry and its affect it has on children.
( Toxocariasis can cause serious illness, and can even lead to blindness. It is caused by a parasite, known as Toxocara Canis, also commonly referred to as Roundworm ) Its a shame because this use to be a beautiful site, a lot of private sites restrict the number of dogs per caravan and also the length of leads but that said its not the poor dogs fault its their owners.

Well kept site
Easily accessible site near to Sutton on Sea beach, with small enclaves, and generous grass pitches. Wardens very friendly and helpful. It was quiet at the time of our visit as the schools had not broken up, but the warden assured us it is not usually noisy during school holidays. Yes, washroom facilities require some cosmetic updating but the facilities available are of the usual club high standard; they were very clean. Appears to be geared towards families, although we visited without children so cannot comment personally. We walked via public footpath close to the site to Sandilands and then along the prom to Mablethorpe, which was a lovely day out; about 6 miles. Plenty of information on the local area on site.
Well Done Pete
We were recently at the site, we are regular visitors, and we have two dogs both of which are always secured as per club rules.
Unfortunately one caravanner thought it quite in order to let his dogs run up and down the back of the vans urinating all over the place and eventually leaving 'you know what' which I trod on and walked all over the awning and van carpet.
The matter was reported to the site warden, Pete Rushton, who dealt with it in a prompt, discreet and very professional manner.
As Caravan club members we should make the site wardens aware of any problems, they like us enjoy a nice peaceful, well looked after site. They are discreet and your complaint will be dealt with anonymity.
Thank you Pete it was appreciated by all I am sure.
