If you like a site where they have simply tried to cram as many caravans as they possibly can to the point where your position on pitch is paramount for fire regulations, where every window on your caravan overlooks several other caravans this is the site for you.
The reviews state the site is clean, well, with the income they generate from the amount of pitches they’ve crammed in I should hope so.
The site is right next to the motorway so constant noise, there seemed to always be a caravan or car alarm going off and everyone had a small yappy dog.
It seemed to attract a particular type of clientele who were more concerned by what everyone else on the site was doing than simply enjoying their “holiday”
This is by far our least favourite site of all the sites we have stayed on.
Clean and pristine site
Stayed here this weekend for 2 nights. Really straightforward to find just off motorway. There is a little road noise but not excessive and couldn’t hear it when inside the van to sleep. Lovely clean facilities on site. Loads of options for walks from the site into the country park. Either the 4ml loop round the loch or through the woodland areas. Toby Carvery within a 5min walk from the site gives options for breakfast lunch and dinner. Great site for a last minute break.

Very well kept, but suffers from road noise
The site was easy to find and immaculately kept with spotless facilities. Easy walking distance to the Country Park. Unfortunately the sound of the nearby motorway was all too obvious. It's a useful stopping off place, but not really for a holiday.

Somewhat disappointed.
Somewhat disappointed with the nearby road noise on site, not the sort of site to enjoy peace and quiet although ok for a stopover or visiting the attractions in the area. My wife and I were disappointed by having to point out to staff regarding the hand sanitizers being empty or none operational on numerous occasions. We eventually gave up for our last couple of days and decided to use our own sanitizer. As previous reviews regarding some of the visitors on site we had transit Van's driving slowly around the site having a good look around at other cars and caravans which made us feel very uneasy. I had used this site for a one night stopover previously having purchased our caravan locally and wanted to return to this site. Now due to our recent experience we shall not be returning any time soon.
Excellent site spoiled by totally irresponsible people who should not have been allowed on site
We have stayed on this site in previous years and been very happy. It is very handy for our travels to Scotland from England and back again and allows us to have a pleasant break.
This time however it was totally ruined by totally inappropriate behaviour by a number of people both adults and children. At lease 5 twin axle caravans towed by commercial panel sided vans were allowed on site. It was obvious they were in business, all the men left in the morning and returned later in the afternoon. I concluded they were members of the ,Irish Travelling Community' based on their accents.
From that time they arrived the toilet facilities were totally abused. Not flushed, no attempt to tidy after use and repeatedly blocked by toilet paper. I think that was a 'good game' by the children. My wife said the ladies toilets were also left in the same disgusting condition.
I personally saw the condition of a male stall immediately after use by a male adult and it was disgusting and unusable, and he didn't even bother to put a mask on.
We were very glad to leave after our 2 night booking. We would have left early if our booking was longer.
Very, very disappointed in the management of the site and unfortunately this experience will affect our decision to return. It will be interesting to compare with the other C&MH sites we are booked into.
Returning Motorhomer
We stayed here 3 years ago for 2 nights stopover on return from the NC500 and found it a very relaxing place.
We planned our Borders tour to incorporate Glasgow, The Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and Strathclyde country park, we were not disappointed this site offers so much its a great location with facility's that cant be beaten, Easy access and great wardens.
Very clean.
First visit to this site, the place was spotless as expected from a club site, pitches a great size and level so no messing about getting the van level.
The site areas (grass etc) were kept in great condition as there always seemed to be someone cutting the grass! The toilet block was immaculate every time I visited.
There is a fair bit of noise from the surrounding motorways, so if you're used to a quiet area then you will notice it. Although this should be expected when you see where this site is located. The country park is a 5 minute walk with great paths around the lake with several places to stop for play areas or food.
As per other club sites, the Covid restrictions are well sign posted, however I don't think I saw any of the wardens wearing facemasks while out on the park or talking to other campers.
The play area is very small with the swings etc missing, so you would need to go to play areas off site.
A nice site but we won't be booking it again.
A Glimpse of Glasgow
More than happy with this site. It was well laid out and a convenient stop off for the city centre. A special mention goes to Phil who went above and beyond in helping us out with a little problem with our motorhome - the chap is a star! If you want to go into Glasgow, we would recommend getting a taxi (as recommended by the site office) - it costs £15 each way which works out about the same cost as the train, albeit your motorhome does not have to leave its pitch. Will definitely use this site again.
Great overnight stay
Stayed here for one night on route to the Scottish Highlands. Pretty, very clean site.Loch nearby for a pleasant walk. Ideal for overnight or longer if you are wanting to visit Glasgow. Some noise from the motorway but didn’t cause us a problem.
Freindly
Site nice for walks especially around the loch.Very busy though day we visited also there is the funfair which is aside of loch.Downer site seemed full of travellers who felt necessary to drive around the site in a transit sometimes not obeying the traffic way to drive.
Staff were great but felt not much could do to manage the travellers
