We always stop here for a couple of nights on our annual Scottish trip. A beautifully kept site, clean and tidy. Great for walks roung the lochside. Yes there is motorway noise but didn't affect us. Well worth a visit.
First Time on The Site
Fabulous Site.
Facilities and grounds maintained to a very high standard.
All the Wardens were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Thank you
Stop Over
Good location being situated close to the mway. The site is very well kept and the staff knowledgeable and pleasant when asked for help.
We live in a quiet village, so the background road noise was a little disturbing to us that are not normally exposed to it.
Our first use of the rubber band system for the facilities, which once you remembered to take/collect it, worked really well.
We would certainly use the site again.
Easy to get to!
Site is very well located - straight off the motorway. Tesco less than a mile away for supplies. Facilities were great and pitches were a good size. A bit of noise from nearby motorway but nothing too bad. Did find the warden patronising when telling us how to pitch - they presumed we were young an inexperienced when we’ve actually been members for nearly 5 years. Would recommend

recent stay
Not a lot to say.
Great customer service from start to finish of our break.
Staff very friendly and always had time to talk to you.
Site was spotless.
Facilities great.
Will return
Great to explore scotland. Good stop off point.
A very well laid out site. It's our first trip to scotland in the tourer, a long 5 hour drive but we had a great trip.
Site has very easy access from the M74 however a huge pothole on the access road !
Some really nice touches made by the staff onsite. Arrival is easy and logical, WC Blocks loverly, but its very dark a tnight finding your way accros.
Weather for us was amazing. The plots were large and easy to set up, but little privacy. It was alwasy fun seeing units arrive and depart, with the usual tiffs and tantrums ( we were no different )
Toby Cavery is a short walk away which also do take away. We didn't personally enjoy the food but it's okay as a one off.
Coronavirus Precautions
I keep my caravan in storage at "Strathy Park" and this makes it very easy for me to spend the weekend here ( only 35 mins from home.)
We spent 3 nights here last weekend 14th, 15th and 16th August,
The wardens here are doing a fantastic job during these difficult times keeping us all safe, what a pity some people just don't seem to care about the rules regarding social distancing and using the facilities!!!!!!!!!! Several times people just didn't bother with the "rubber band system" especially in the ladies toilets/showers. Here they are restricted to 3 persons at any one time but every time my wife used the showers there were at least 5 people in there together, and one time a lady entered the block with 5 children with her and not a band to be seen!!!!. i went for a shower at 6.15am on the Saturday morning, too warm to sleep so I thought I would avoid the busy times and go early. On arriving at the door I noticed all three hooks were being used so I sat on a post and waited for around 15 mins till a man emerged, took HIS band from the hook and removed the other two saying you should just go in, THERE'S NO-ONE ELSE IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some idiots had been in and failed to remove the bands on leaving.
COME ON EVERYONE!!! HOW EASY IS IT TO FOLLOW THE SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS,DO YOUR BIT AND HELP KEEP SCOTLAND SAFE.

Well located and definitely worth a visit
First visit to Strathclyde Country Park which is an excellently run and very clean. The serviced pitch has plenty of space for the van, awning and car but you do need at least 3 metres of waste hose to reach the grey drainage point. Toilets and showers in excellent order and kept clean and well maintained at all times. All other facilities are well maintained and there are plenty of them. Flexibility is the name of the game during the COVID outbreak but this has been well managed at this site. There is plenty to do and this is a great base to springboard from. We found no major issues or problems at this site. Look forwards to visiting once again.
Love this site
We have stayed here over the years since it was taken over by the CAMC. Its so handy for Glasgow with a quick taxi ride to Bellshill train station then onto Glasgow city centre. Yes its close to the M74 and A725 which are very busy roads but the traffic noise is not as bad as some reviewers make out it to be, ear plugs are not needed!! we have stayed on noiser sites away from main roads. The new road leaving the M74 makes accessing the site even easier. The facilities are first class and always immaculate, lovely and warm too, the wardens are always helpful and do a brilliant job of looking after this site. We have stayed here when some of the pitches have been closed, due to being water logged, that's what happens when you caravan all year round, but again not as bad as some reviewers say, the night we had no electric with the temperature in minus figures was one of our most enjoyable stays. The local eateries are great, Toby Cavery cheap and cheerful and and easy walk from the site or get a take away delivered from Bothwell, we can highly recommend a Chinese from there. We thoroughly enjoy staying at this site and cannot wait for our weekend in August.
Apprehensive but delighted
Having regularly driven past this area, this isn't a site I would really have chosen but the only option for a long weekend as everywhere else was booked up.
However, the site turned out to be pretty much an oasis of calm and tranquility just off the motorway which was a nice surprise! (You can hear the motorway at night but it's steady drone of background noise rather than anything that would disturb you).
All staff were great, site and facilities were spotlessly clean and we loved walks around Strathclyde Loch and Country Park. Some bits of M&Ds (not the main park) were just starting to reopen which we enjoyed with our kids. Drumpellier Park(about 15 mins away) is also worth a visit and has a great playground.
Only complaint was the kids playground on the site was closed which strikes me as an unnecessary precaution when playgrounds are now open everywhere else.
