Very good site

Ideal hardstanding for motorhome. Excellent facilities and very helpful wardens. My three year old granddaughter loved the playpark where she could meet other children. Facilities including cafe at the park adjacent to the site were excellent. The walks and cycle routes round the loch are very family friendly.

Disappointment (Hopefully temporary)

Could not recommend the site at the moment. The morning we arrived the roadworks changed vehicle routing around the nearby island and we had to drive for miles on a detour to gain access. As a light sleeper the noise of the lights generators on the roadworks and nearby traffic kept me awake - left the site in need of a good night's sleep. My advice: Stay away until the roadworks are finished. On a positive note the toilets and showers are the finest I have come across on any caravan site - anywhere.

Somewhat Noisy

this is a great site - location just off M74, and less than 15 minutes into Glasgow. facilities are top notch. my only comment would be the noise coming from the VERY major roadworks being carried out on the motorway junction less that 400 yds from the site. it would be great to be warned about this before booking. it looks like the works will be on for some time- even into 2017!! it seems a lot of people use the site as a stop over on the way north or south.

Great site

This is a great site with good hardstanding pitches, clean warm facilities and helpful wardens. The site is well positioned for travelling out to all the attractions and also a great stop over point travelling up to the Highland. We will certainly be staying here again.

Excellent site and helpful welcoming wardens,as you would expect on a club site.Handy carvery a stones throw away with lovely staff to help the night go well.This site served us well as a stopover on our way to the highlands.

lovely peacefull site

very well presented good sized pitches , clean facilities ,only one thing I would add is a chair /bench in the laundry room would stay again

Nice site

Stayed here for the second time since CC took it over, only stayed for one night and would return for longer. The site was very quite when we stayed so had choice of pitches. The wardens were very friendly and helpful so no complaints there. The only thing I could find fault with has nothing to do with the site or wardens more the CC rules. They have a white post for you to line up with to keep the same distance between units, what I dont understand is this post is stuck about 1/3 from one side and 2/3 from other meaning part of your pitch is wasted, so why cant they stick them in the corner of each pitch and all units would still be the same distance apart and you could use your whole pitch.

Great base for exploring Scotland's Central Belt

Usual high quality Caravan Club Site in a great location for exploring the Central Belt of Scotland. Only a couple of years old with a spacious and airy feel. Roadworks on the nearby motorway are causing extra noise and some delays in accessing the site at busy times, but these are temporary and therefore not of any real issue. Highly recommended if you are wanting to explore the area.

Convenient and friendly site

I stay on this site a couple of times a year when visiting the area. The wardens have always been friendly and helpful. The facilities are good and kept clean. Unlike one of the previous reviewers, we did not notice any problems with travellers but we were only staying for two nights. The Toby Carvery had run out of meat when we got there at about 7.30pm - not the first time this has happened to me. This is disappointing as it is the nearest place to eat although I believe the Holiday Inn does have a limited evening menu. The site is convenient for travelling to Glasgow by train and is also a convenient place to stop off on longer journeys.

VERY DISAPOINTED

We visit this site 3-4 times a year, but this time I had the worse visit ever. 4 Travelling families were on the site and made it very difficult to enjoy or feel safe on the site. Their dog kept barking and it's mess was not cleaned up. The amenities (showers etc) were left in a bad state. A yellow transit van was continually going around the site as the person was using the laundry facilities as a business, and I was unable to do my washing due to it being in constant use. It was very clear that these people were living in their vans/caravans which is not the purpose of the site. Even to be told that the family were coming back to hopefully have her baby born there. I think it is up to the Area Manager to tackle these problems as the site wardens appear to be unable to do anything about it. I will now have to contact the wardens before coming to stay on this site. What a shame the Caravan Club do not tackle this problem as the site will soon be over run. This is not what I pay my membership for. Otherwise the site is usually a very well run site and I would have given it 5 stars all round.
