Welcoming site

Convenient site for travelling around west side of Scotland. Easy access to the motorway links. Site was really clean, shower and toilet facilities were spotless. Only problem was the noise of the motorway roadworks, went on all not long and not easy access to and from the site with the roadworks happening

10 days of summer

Our 4th stay here as the location is very convenient with direct access to the M74. The current overnight junction closures mean the noise levels have increased until the works are complete. Our 11 year old French nieces came visiting and loved the play park and the family outdoor meals in the sun. Rascal, the cat loved hiding in the bushes during the day watching the world go by. His 6th stay away. He becomes very relaxed probably because we are relaxed. The wardens were fantastic when we asked if we could leave the van in the Late Night Arrivals for 2 hours whilst we dropped the girls at the airport. All in all, another memorable event.

Excellent site!

Needed to be in this area for event, was unsure what to expect at Strathclyde park so near funfair etc.  Needn't have worried, beautifully laid out side, immaculately cared for by a lovely, smiley dedicated couple. Roadworks mean little bit more noise than usual as trees have been removed at present, imagine it will soon be very quiet again when it's done!   Spacious, well placed stances mean you are not hearing your neighbours every move, or conversation in the awning...??  Will def be back here, as so much more of the lovely park to explore, can ignore the entertainment /funfair,  as much more park and woodland to wander  around in peace away from noise.  Loved the little touch of pots of herbs growing at office door, with sign saying please help yourself!   A delight. ??

All round great site - would recommend

A really convenient site for accessing Glasgow. Excellent facilities and site kept to a very high standard. Pitches laid out to give more privacy than other sites. Very pleasant site staff. Some road noise but made up for by easy access to Strathclyde park - great for walking/running and other sports.

Will be a brilliant site without the roadworks!!

Really enjoyed our stay here, the site is lovely and clean and the wardens very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent dog walk and it couldn't be handier for the country park with all its attractions. Glasgow's just a 15 minute drive and we enjoyed a couple of visits there - the Science Centre is excellent for kids of all ages. Also went to Edinburgh a couple of times to experience the festival - that's about an hour in the car. The only drawback for us was the noise and disruption of the road works on the motorway which started early morning and went on all day - we learned to live with it though, it didn't stop us sleeping and didn't detract from our enjoyment of the site. All in all, it will be a perfect site once those roadworks are finished!

August visit

Very clean and large site near a country park. Plenty of eateries but a lot of road noise which wasn't helped by building work was going on whilst we were there. Good for a stop off if travelling on.

Great site

Great site even if noisy due to road traffic. The best practice they have is to clean the toilets between 2-3pm in the afternoon when everyone is out unlike most club sites who tend to do it 10-11am when they are needed to most once people get up. Unfortunately a have to knock a star off due to 1 staff member urgently needing a customer relations course due to being abrupt and not listening.

Excellent facilities, great location, will stay again.

Great site for a stopover when travelling through Scotland, or to visit the local area, which has so much to offer. Wardens fantastic. Fantastic facilities, new and modern. Brilliant facilities on water park just down the road. Lovely visit from site to Falkirk to see the Selkies at Helix Park and Stirling and visited family nearby. We will stop here again. There was some road noise, but not too bad as site in dip and protected from trees.

Strathclyde Park

Very well kept and well laid out site with plenty of spaces between the ample sized pitches. On the plus side it's right next to the M74 and ideal as a base for exploring the Central Belt. Right next to the country park there are also excellent facilities for walking, cycling and some water sports. On the downside it's right next to the M74 so expect traffic noise. This is exacerbated at the moment (Summer 2016) due to the extensive roadworks in the area that continue through the night. Indeed if you drive a few motorway miles in any direction you'd wonder if there are any cones left anywhere else in the country.
