Short break in Stonehaven

This is one of the best sites we have used. It is an excellent location next to the beach and the famous Stonehaven outdoor heated pool close by. A number of very good restaurants and fish and chip shops close by. An excellent base for touring the North East of Scotland. The insight facilities were modern and very clean and the staff were most helpful. First time on this site. Well worth another visit

Good access from AS90 and next door to beach and easy walking to town

This is a new site to the club - only 4 years old. It is next to the beach so you can walk all the way to the Harbour and also into town without getting out the car. We had a fully service pitch on hard standing which was excellent. The wardens resident and locum were very helpful and friendly. It was good that news papers were delivered every morning by ordering before 4.30 the previous day. The site is with easy access od Aberdeen, the various tourist attraction in the Dee Valley. Do visit the Farm Shop and Cafe 10 miles south on the A90.

A Very Clean Site

This a very clean site, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Weather can be a problem at times being so close to the coastline. Noise can be a problem being so close to major road and also residential roads at early morning. All problems aside this is a site that I'd recommend as it is easy to access from the major roads.

A bit bare.

We were surprised when we got to this site to find it so close to the beach, outside the barrier of the site and your there, great for families and dog owners. Site itself looked a bit like pulling onto an industrial area, very bare and sparse not a lot of trees or hedges, which makes a site warm and welcoming. However the shower and toilet facilities were clean as you would expect from caravan club and new which also helped, we did see some strange behaviour from a group of three men, who we presumed were foreign visitors to UK, going into the ladies facilities and again a German family of male and female members doing the same, if the site gets a lot of foreign visitors they maybe need it to be explained to them a little more, that in the UK all facilities are separate. The site is very close to food outlets which is good and if you walk a little further either along the beach itself or on the path you can get into town within 15minutes, where you have a good selection of shops and places to eat. There is also an indoor swimming pool just around the corner and an outdoor pool which wasn't open yet when we were there. All in all a good site.

STUNNING SITE.

For several years now we have visited the Q/E Site in Stonehaven, this once Council owned run down site wasn't a place I would recommend to anyone THEN THE CLUB BOUGHT IT A FEW YEARS AGO AND FLATTENED THE PLACE TO TRANSFORM IT into a lovely quiet, peaceful, clean, tidy site in a stunning location that makes our 7 hour drive to Scotland every bit worth the while. The only disappointment we have is having to leave, so thank you once again to the new wardens this year for keeping up the high standards the previous wardens set and we hope to see you again soon.

Enjoyable visit

This was our second stay at the QE site and once again the site was immaculate with first class facilities. Wardens were very friendly and helpful and the location is excellent, just far enough away from the town centre to be peaceful but close enough to be within walking distance of shops, pubs etc. and the beach is only a few yards away which is a bonus for walking the dogs. I have marked the 'peace and quiet' box as 4 stars, only because there was building work going on at a house just behind where we were parked and we must be unlucky as the same thing happened when we stayed at the opposite side of the park last year. Obviously this is outwith the control of the site and it didn't spoil our stay at a very enjoyable location.

Great site and location

Lovely site with new facilities, well maintained and lovely hot showers. The location is beautiful and you can cycle along the beach promenade from the site to the harbour. The kids had a great time and managed to cycle up to the memorial next to Dunnotar Castle.
