Although this site is at the end of a slightly tricky road ( from Kingsbridge to Torcross is quite narrow and twisty particularly through the villages on the road) it is without doubt worth the slow and steady drive. Beautifully kept by courteous and unobtrusive wardens. It is easy walking to the sea or to Stokenham village where there are great pubs ( but you must book). The site is peaceful, there is a little bit of traffic noise from the road on the top side of the site but not really a major issue. The Fish and Chips from the visiting van on Tuesday are a must have delight. The facilities were spotless. The wardens were working hard to keep the grass pitches usable but the two nights of torrential rain during our stay made it difficult. The hard standings drain well and are spacious. A lovely little spot
wished we could have stayed longer
Lovely site with plenty to do nearby, although in a motorhome you tend to have white knuckles driving through the lanes. We visited Hope Cove ....stunning. Again this is a site where wardens were coping with the wet conditions and trying to meet everyone's needs. We certainly were not bothered with dog or traffic noise. The farm and village shops are both very convenient and Kingsbridge has motorhome friendly parking.Wardens were courteous and facilities were clean. We would have stayed longer if there had been room as we had some difficulties following a mishap in the MH.

Too many dogs
Dog friendly site with up to 3 in some vans. Off the lead, barking and yapping. Footpath fouling spoils a lovely site
A special little site.
Not an easy drive due to narrow roads but warm welcome and lovely relaxed site. A 15 minute walk to the pebble beach and good bus network and lovely farm shop as well as two nearby pubs are all pluses. Challenging cycling due to the hills. We cycled to Salcombe but I wouldn't recommend it, although Salcombe is lovely. However the walk to Beesands and a visit to the Britannia@the beach fish shack is more than worth the effort. We only had 4 nights and left looking forward to a return visit.
August 2015
lovely and typical CC Site... spotless facilities and as always very helpful staff. Great location for a base for visiting the local area, main approach to the site needs caution as their is several narrow roads a few miles towards the site, this being said all the locals were very friendly drivers towards caravans in a nd around this area. Torcross Beach less than 3 minutes drive from the site, Mackerel fishing from this beach is very rewarding with buckets and buckets of Fresh Mackerel to catch, another lovely beach just less than 10 minutes away is Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth is only 15 minute drive away with a great Park and Ride system also with all the normal supermarkets there for your supplies. Would definitely visit here again.
A less well known part of Devon
We had not heard of the 'South Hams' part of Devon until some former neighbours moved there and told us how nice it is. If you are nervous at towing the approach roads from Kingsbridge, which are single track in places can be a bit concerning, however the location is well worth the trip. Dartmouth and Salcombe are beautiful vibrant places to visit. There are water sports, fishing, excellent National Trust places to visit, beaches and many places to visit within easy reach. As always the Caravan Club site is well looked after by the helpful wardens. It is well worth taking the service bus to ride to Dartmouth as the views from the bus, along the coastline are amazing. We have visited this site about 10 times and never tire of this amazing part of the country.

A week in all weathers
The site is in between the villages of Stokenham and Torcross, the latter being the seafront. We had a mixture of hot sunny days and torrential rain, so experienced a wide range of what the area can bring. We loved Torcross beach, the car park is £6.50 for the day but you can drive down and take everything you need right to the beach. The fantastic Start Bay Inn provides beers and great fish and chips, there is a cafe, a shop and toilets, so everything that's needed for a super beach day. There are so many beaches and coves to explore either by kayak or driving, take a good map and get out and explore. There are lovely towns to drive or bus to, our favourites were Kingsbridge with amazing independent shops and Dartmouth, for a boat trip and shopping. You can walk to The Church Inn and The Tradesmans Arms from the site, open all day at weekends and split sessions on weekdays. We had two dogs and everywhere we went welcomed them inside and out, except the Start Bay Inn on the beach, but we ate outside so no problems. The farm shop/brewery right next door have themed weekends through the summer. We had a very good paella and flamenco night on the Saturday. They list events on Stokely Farm website. The site was extremely well kept, clean, floral and tidy. The wardens were super, so friendly. Overall we enjoyed the week immensely, I downgraded the quiet a little as we pitched too near the children's play area, the children spent every evening screaming, yes enjoying themselves, but it was too loud and invasive for us, sorry parents!
Start Bay
Start Bay is a lovely quiet site clean with friendly staff. There is a safe path to the local pubs which takes only seven minutes. In the opposite direction is the beach just half a mile and just round the corner is a farm shop and micro brewery perfect if you don't want to move your motorhome! We will be back.

Lovely site
We stayed here for 5 nights in August , on arrival the friendly warden showed us the available pitches and cleared the way for me to reverse on .
The site is well maintained with good clean facilities.
As it was nearly full we had limited pitch choice and had a flat pitch nearest the road, there is some noise here during the day but from early evening the road was quite quiet !
The only dissapointment was that the beach wasn't as close as hoped and a day visit there would probably require getting in the car to take everything needed but it was fine to stroll down in the evening with the dog for a few drinks on the front , probably a 15 min walk .
There are lots of other great places to visit whilst staying here , our favourite being Salcombe.
The access road which is mentioned in other reviews wasn't as bad as expected, it is very narrow in places and is about a 5-6 mile stretch through several small villages but there are lots of places to pull in so don't let this put you off !
My main reason for choosing this site was the expectation of the beach being almost onsite , this was not the case and my only reason that I wouldn't return again !
Great place in South Devon
Arrived on Saturday and was slightly late due to car trouble and wardens were most accommodating. Many Thanks. Our second time here great site ideal for discovering this beautiful coastline. Would recommend this little gem
