We returned to this site after a number of years. The site looks great we pulled onto the site and relaxed immediately. The wardens were always approachable, hard working and very friendly keeping the site very tidy and clean. The central wildlife areas were very well attended to which encouraged birds, squirrels and rabbits which were fun to watch. Being next to Fineshades wood it is ideal for dog walks and a fun place for children to be in the great outdoors.
Our 8 day break was so relaxing and enjoyable on this marvellous site we will be back soon!
Thank you

Stamford Site
We have been to this site many times but I think it’s going down hill one thing that lets it down is that the seasonal pitches are very untidy as the grass gets long and does not look like the club sites used to be on this visit we spoke to the warden about the grass as it was long and in the morning your feet get very wet and he said the grass could not be cut shorter than 3 inches as stones might get flicked up and hit the units what rubbish when Pete and Sue where the wardens the grass was always short and I must say the site was very tidy the bin area was smelly and could have done with awash down we go to other sites and the grass is fine

Lovely
Excellent site, good variety of hard or soft pitches. The bird life is varied. Nice dog walk through the woods attached, close to local supermarkets and fuel stations, definitely a great stopover when using the A1 north or southbound.

Location was the key
My wife and I needed to book a site in the East Midlands in order to visit someone. I looked at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site and found one near Stamford which fitted our requirements perfectly. I knew that the site had no facilities but what I had not realised was that this site is so far from civilisation that there was no 3G or 4G reception (although there is Club wi-fi available) and that TV reception requires a digital box or satellite. The ground was wet, very wet but the wardens were very friendly and helpful too ringing the day before to warn of resurfacing on the approach lane. Despite the aforementioned this is a gem of a site with great wildlife and the only noise breaking the peace was a rich and tuneful dawn chorus early in the morning. We only stayed for two nights but it looked even better when the sun came out on our last morning. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking a for a quiet break away in the Northants/Lincs area.
Relaxed site
Stayed for 4 days on this very relaxed and peaceful site. The wardens were welcoming and had the right attitude for this site. Excellent dog walking areas together with plenty tracks in the adjoining woods. Plenty of places to visit in the area inc Stamford with its individual shops and good restraints abd coffee shops. Good market too.
No reflection on the site but why do so many members feel the need to drive round the sites at speeds far in excess of the 5 mph limit.
Will definitely return
Wonderful Wardens
We have just returned from another relaxing stay at the Stamford site. We love coming back to the site & so does our 6 year old daughter. We can't rave about the site enough, but on this occasion, we wanted to say what a fantastic job the wardens did, in particular last night when there was a constant stream of guests arriving for the Easter bank holiday. Now I know this is nothing out of the ordinary, but take into account that it was lashing down with rain, & had been doing so for several hours. The wardens were there on hand to guide each arrival to a pitch that wasn't resembling a swimming pool. They also helped several guests to park up their caravans onto the pitches as the motor movers were struggling with the conditions. With a little help from some of the other guests, a couple of caravans needed a push to get them onto the pitch. This was all in the rain & diminishing light. I think u all deserve a hearty thank u.
Bonfire Weekend Safe Haven and Forest Ranger Rescue
We stayed at Stamford site for the first time over bonfire weekend hoping its peaceful location would mean our firework-phobic dog might escape her certain terror, and it worked a treat. We heard hardly any big bangs over three nights, but also discovered this beautiful tranquil site adjacent to Fineshade Woods with wonderful varied walking routes through Forestry Commission land. No need to venture to New England with brilliant autumn colour like this in the U.K., and red kites overhead. Sadly, I fell over the rather ungrateful dog whilst walking and sprained my ankle but a panic phone call to the very calm and helpful site warden saved me when she contacted the Forest Ranger at the nearby Visitor Centre who came out in his jeep to rescue me. So many thanks to Lynne, a terrific warden who even provided a bag of frozen veg to help my ankle. We'll return to this site when it reopens in the Spring and definitely for bonfire night next year.

Stamford
We stayed here for two days in October, amazed at the amount of fellow campers at this time of the year! A really lovely positioned site, surrounded by woodlands and wildlie, red kites patrolling the skies. The weather was not brilliant, but did not dampen our spirits, a visit to nearby Stamford is a must. We parked our motorhome at Burley House, a lovely walk through the deer park from here into the town, the house is closed on Fridays, but the Stamford market is worth a visit. An enjoyable stay.
Don't keep the children away just because of no toilet block, they will benefit no end from this environment.

A favourite
Forget the whinges about no toilet block - almost every modern van has fitted facilities so why the fuss? Lack of a toilet block reduces use by families so fewer children. The site is almost perfect and great for walking, cycling and dogs and within easy walk of local village and pubs. Well kept by Neil and Lynne and good value. Just one issue - access gate to woods from pitch 15 could do with being modified to allow wheelchair and mobility scooter use. Otherwise nowt to complain about - a quiet peaceful site in lovely surroundings.
