our recent visit

We had a lovely stay again at this site But booked a serviced pitch this time and ours was one f a few overlooking the toilet/shower block which was quite noisy and not at all private Shame as service pitches are a real convenience but would seriously not bother if you want peace and quiet Overheard the wardens cleaning the toilets be quite sharp with a few caravaners little surprised re this But would definatly return to this site

7 days of sunshine and fun

The site was perfect for us but would have been great to have been on a nearer pitch to our friends who we came away with us especially when my dog escaped from the caravan window (He would have gone straight to them as he knows them) but luckley he was found by the wardens who I am very grateful to. The walk into Southport Town centre is about a 15 min walk but is very flat plenty to do for one and all. There two lovely parks a funfair for the kids , splash world, boating lakes etc. Plenty of shopping for the ladies and perhaps the men and plenty of places to eat and drink The site is kept very clean and tidy and so are the facilities, we were lucky we had 7 days of sunshine so that made a load of difference to us first class. Will defo be returning again.

The best site in this area

I have been on all parts of this site, enjoy.  Try the pub the Fishermans rest 5 min walk away and the Chinese resteraunt which is next to the site. Morrisons 10min walk. Park and ride is 1 min drive and then the bus will take you into town for £1.50 return for the car full of you.

Best caravan site we have stayed on

We have stayed on this site twice now, it's certainly our favourite. The toilets and showers are immaculate, we have never seen facilities so clean. It's a big credit to the wardens, who work hard to keep this site so perfect. Thank you one and all.

September 2015stay

This was a very clean and well run site although quite a walk to service points.do not turn up early as people are still leaving up to 12am and they will not let you in until after 12am.the new section is very open and needs to mature.you could walk into town within 10 mins.

Our piece of Heaven

Mum and I love this site. My Mum is 85 and disabled, the wardens do their best to put us as close the the facilities as possible. Facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean a credit to the wardens. The site is close enough to entertainment, shopping and food but far away enough to be tranquil with rabbits grazing on the grassy areas. We think its perfect and cant wait for our next visit :-). Thanks Southport see you soon.

Serviced Pitches-lack of.

This is a C.C. Site we will NOT be visiting again ever. The major complaint is the inadequate number of serviced pitches for the number of normal pitches especially since all of them where taken up by 'weekenders' and we did book very very early. The other gripe concerns kids congregating around the toilet block and ignoring requests to leave. Being disabled we need a pitch as close as possible to the facilities.

Southport Sept 15

This site is well maintained, clean and a credit to the wardens. A short walk to town, handy for supermarket, playground, Victoria park. A very busy site, but quiet. The only problem we had with the site wasn't the site itself or the staff but with other site users especially the ones who allowed their dog to defecate on the site road outside our caravan which I removed and in a separate incident our granddaughter stood in dog mess and walked it into the awning. Most dog owners are responsible and clean up after their pets. A minority obviously don't. There is no dog walk at Southport but there is the park and the approach road for dogs to exercise themselves. The wardens are aware of the problem and had words with the suspected owners. If anyone sees a dog fouling on site and no attempt to the mess can I please encourage everyone to report these incidents to the wardens.

Very good site

Our 4th  visit to this site but first visit since refurbishment. Although site has virtually doubled in size since our last visit it didn't feel too big and was generally quiet and peaceful until the bank holiday weekend when it became a lot noisier . Loved the fact that one of the toilet blocks didn't close for cleaning til well into the afternoon which meant there was no rush for the showers - not once did we have to queue and the site was full. Have to agree that wardens were generally only visible on site at cleaning times. Site beautifully maintained. A great site for families though we did find some of the nearby attractions a bit expensive compared to similar facilities at home. Can definitely recommend the Fisherman's Rest pub/restaurant only a ten minute walk from the site.  Good dog walking facilities. The enforcement of no arrivals before 12 noon meant that on busy changeover days there was a bit of a rush to find the best pitch as you had quite a few caravans etc coming onto site in a short space of time. Wifi quality was poor but we had no trouble with TV reception.
