Great site

Stayed on this site for one night on our way to Lake District on business. Site lovely and clean, plenty of toilets and showers and pitches large and well laid out. It was great for our dogs, we walked them in the nature reserve across the road. We did not get to walk into town but we were given directions to a local pub a 5 minute walk away that did lovely food. Will definitely return here for a longer stay.

Best shower and toilet facilties

This site is perfect for everything as it is right next to a lovely beach, the fairground, lakes, massive new playground and the town centre shops. The newest amenity block is fantastic and so clean. It has everything for everyone, although doesn`t have an on site playground if you have children. A new one though has been erected along the front in between the lakes and the beach and well worth a visit. The only area for perhaps avoiding when siting your van is to the left of the office as it is a long straight stretch and if full it is difficult to turn around. Plus on one side you have to pitch sideways with your awning in front and there is not as much room. PS, Although most sites advise you cannot arrive until a particular time, but do allow early entrance, this site most definitely does not. If you arrive before 12.00 you must wait on the service road outside. It is not a problem as there is no traffic there but there is not much point to getting there early. I have no idea why this one enforces the rule when most others don`t. Otherwise, a fantastic site.

Great Site for Children

Our 3rd visit to this site, not the type of site we would usually visit on our own, but it's great when we have the grandchildren, they love it there. Also just an hours drive from home. So handy for the the attractions of Southport for them. Great for bike riding on the prom.  I must admit the site seemed pretty full of grandparents with children, and I suppose if you haven't kids with you it may seem a bit overrun with children riding bikes around the site etc. Although I must say we didn't find it noisey at all, very quiet in the evenings.  We always go on the new part of the site which is very open but we like it. Everything on site is spotless, friendly wardens, never had to queue for facilities even though site full.  I just wish we could get into the park when we visit, it's been closed the three times we have been, this time it was the dismantling of the flower show, but CC can't help that.  Will we visit again I am sure we will as I know two small people who will want to return.

Trial run with Grandaughter

We tend to avoid sites similar to this in school holidays but we needed to try 5 year old granddaughter in the caravan for the first time.  Only two nights here but the facilities were one of the best we have encountered anywhere.   Granddaughter had lots to entertainer her and once she had made friends with the other children on site our lives were a lot easier ha ha.  Most children were with their grandparents and there was a lot of wizzing around on bikes and scooters but I guess this is what you get in school holidays.   Hubby happy once he found the Fishermans Rest pub ten minutes walk away.   To sum things up it worked well for what we wanted but if we visit again, just us two old fogies, will do midweek in term time.

Visit for the Flower Show

Was pleasantly surprised by this site. The photo shows a long line of pitches but we stayed on the new area which is less regimented. Open and sunny (when it shone)! And felt spacious, more so than a fair few other CC sites we have visited. New block was clean. Wifi In general was good, apart from one morning in seven. TV reception was good. The new area does not have so many tall trees. We had wanted a serviced pitch but there are quite a few tall trees and bushes round them and I wonder if TV reception would not be as good. Enjoyed our stay. Heartily agree that the walk from the site down Rotten Row was wonderful. As good as visiting a stately home with super herbaceous borders!

A pleasant stay

This was our first visit. The toilet block refurbishment was very good, clean and spacious, one of the best we have seen. We were able to walk into Southport, particularly Lord Street in under 25 minutes, passing Morrisons on the way.  The journey at the end of the M58 was slow because of major road works. All in all though the site was convenient for the town, the sea front and the childrens play area.
