Great Location

Stayed for a weekend in early March with our 2 little grand-daughters in our motorhome. A nice experience right from our arrival with a nice cheery welcome and helpful choice of pitches. Surprised as to how busy it was at this time of year but there was no problems other than some traffic noise from the coastal road nearby. The location was perfect for us as we were cycling during the day on the numerous routes and walking into town for a meal in the evening. It was our 2nd time at this site and will not be our last ! The facilities were first class and the cleanliness was second to none.

Excellent site for stroll to Southport

Stopped at this site just for the weekend. Very friendly welcome from wardens, it is immaculately kept, toilets have recently been refurbished and are very clean, never had to que for a shower.  Pitches are all spacious and level. Sand dunes are just across the road from the site, excellent for wearing the dog out, although Southport doesn't appear to be very dog friendly, which you sort of expect in a seaside town. There is no childrens play area on site, but there is one in the park behind, which is accessible via a gate half way down the site.  Turn left and the path takes you to Southport Centre in about 10-15 mins, a much better walk than down the Road. Love this site couldnt be better placed for Southport and its amenities.

We made another visit to this site. This is one of our favourite sites. It is well located for both the shops/ cafes and beach. The site is kelp very clean and the facilities are excellent. The only down sound is the current state of the Esplanade. No one seems to bother about the increasing amounts of litter and the lack of street lighting on the road. I have raised this as a complaint with Sefton Council and would encourage other users of the site to also raise a complaint with the Council.

Nice site

Nice site with good location for town and local attactions. Hardstanding pitches difficult for pegging awning.  TV reception poor near tress. Barking dog left in a caravan annoying but fault of owners.  Will be back again but in different area if site.

Winter Charmer

We spent a week here in February, very cold but with lovely sunny days. The site is within easy walking distance of Southport town with all the shops you may need and the shortest route is 20 mins across the park from the small gate on the site. We found an excellent value pub with great meals, the Fisherman's Rest, just 10 mins walk from the site. The wardens are the most friendly on the network and nothing is too much trouble. Having railcards we were able to travel to Liverpool for £4 return and Central Station is just 5 mins walk from Albert Dock and the museums. A great day out. Its 30 miles by car to Lytham, which is a lovely seaside town with cafes and shops. We found 'Berties' to be very good value and excellent quality. Don't go to Blackpool it's the pits, on street parking is non existent and the whole town is tatty and run down. There is a retail park on the edge of Southport with B&Q etc. for those bits you may need and Morrisons supermarket is just the other side of the park, a 5 mins walk from the site, if you don't want much. All in all a great week.

First Time

This was our first time using a club site and was not disappointed. On arrival site staff were really friendly and helpful. The site was spotless and the toilet and shower block were excellent. Booked again for May

nit picker

usual excellent club facilities, short walk to southport made uncomfortable by the last 500 yards in total darkness in a very remote area, road not supported with lights by council, shame there were,nt ant lights on club site for some overspill lighting on to  the road

lovely stay

This is the second time we have been here in 2 months. We were greated each time by a very charming gentlman who was new to the site. He gave us information on Southport and eateries which one we sampled to his recommendation and we werent disapointed. The site is a  short walk from the town centre and sea front, fairground and supermarkets and there is a lovely park just next to the campsite which in summer would be nice for a picnic. The campsite was spotlessly clean and the grounds are very well kept. The toilet block again were spotless and the disabled facilities were the best i have used being disabled. The only down fall was the cleaning times of the facilities were the block was closed for showers etc between 10.15 and 12. Made your lie in abit short, but there is a toilet open but no shower. There is alot to do in Southport so pick a information leaflet in reception, but being cold  alot of the attractions were just starting to come to life. I can imagine this site being exceptionally busy in summer so book early. Very well recommended

Southport

The site is excellent, very well maintained with spacious defined pitches adjacent to a huge area of parkland. Southpor is a walk away & a lovely town to visit. Worth a much longer stay than our three nights at the end of fFebruary.
