Great location for dogs

Southport is well presented and great if you’re a dog owner, with great shower area, friendly staff, and a good layout, the site is superbly positioned for walks along the dunes and the park next door. It's also handy for the town centre, I had my 2nd stay recently and will be coming back soon.

Great weekend again!

This is a regular retreat for us, as we live about an hour's drive away. Although the weather was cold last weekend, the warm and friendly welcome from the wardens more than made up for the chilly start. Recent renovations have given members more pitches and new toilet blocks which are very clean and modern. Lots to do for a winter break, with the main centre at Lord Street being a short walk across the park. An abundance of great shops and places to eat and drink which is useful in winter when the weather may not be fit to BBQ. Walk along the promenade and you will see lots of sea birds on the estuary and in the adjacent reserve. Will definitely be back later in the season!

As good as ever

Just had a weekend at Southport. This was our 4th visit here. It is perfectly placed for Southport centre, shops, parks and the promenade. Super beach at Ainsdale a couple miles away for the dog. No doubt we will be back again. The wardens are very friendly too!

Winter Stay

My wife spent 3 weeks at this site in January 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It is a long time since we have visited here ( approximately 8 years ), since which time a refurbishment program has been completed and the site increased in size. The refurbishment has made a tremendous difference and the facilities are excellent. The shower block was spotlessly clean, and diligently cared for by the wardens on a daily basis, making sure the standard was maintained. During the week the site was very quiet which we enjoyed, but busier at weekends. The site in general was very clean and tidy, the only comment I would make is that putting a few hedges between some of the pitches would have made the overall view a little more varied. Having said that the position of the site is so convenient for all local amenities, and is adjacent to a spacious park. The wardens are so friendly and helpful which made our stay all the more enjoyable. We shall no doubt return here in the future.

Early Start

Spent 3 days here great site very well kept .Helpful and friendly Wardens only thing to say is that the Toilet blocks are closed for cleaning to early 10:15am till 12.This is ok if you are here all day but if you are leaving on the day it means you have to have a really early start to use the facilities before packing up. Some people like to shower after packing up before they vacate the site.Great site for walking into the park and Southport.

Brilliant location for Southport

This is a typical Caravan Club Site, very well maintained with immaculate Facilities (the site was extended in 2014 so half is brand new) It is situated just a 10 minute walk from Southport town centre and there is a large Morrisons Supermarket 5 minutes away. There is a very large park area adjacent to the site with a large outdoor model railway alongside ! all in all its a great site in a very convenient location ! we will return

Problem with the electricity supply

Stayed for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. The only thing that spoilt our break was the electricity going off. 3 times in all. We know you only get 16 amps and we were very careful how much we used. The last time it went off we had turned off everything including the heating, put the kettle on and it blew again. The warden was very helpful and plugged us into another pitch which seemed to do the trick but this was our last day. To be honest it has put us off going away in the winter again, especially to Southport as we spent a lot of time and effort trying to sort the problem out.

Southport....first visit.

This site is fine if you like camping on a car park. Nothing to look at from most pitches except other caravans, or empty pitches. The site is easily accessed, but it's proximity to Marine Drive means that there is a fair bit of road noise. The site is situated within walking distance of the town, or a park & ride if one's not fit enough to do the 15 min walk to the town. The toilets are up the usual CC's high standard, although the cleaning regime of mid afternoon of one of the blocks might be of an inconvenience to some. The park adjacent to the site is excellent for walking ones dog(s), but we did not like the public assessed footpaths through the site. We found plenty to do in the area but probably would not use this site again.

Hello Again

Arrived here less than an hour after picking up a new caravan and not having been Club members or having caravanned for decades. Delighted to see same high standards as before and very helpful, welcoming staff. All highly recommended.
