To expensive

Visited over Easter 2017 Great site easy walk to town and good pub (Fishermans Rest) best to book as very popular, only downsides where the cost of pitch and Toilet / washroom closures 10-15 for mens , not everyone is up at the crack of dawn. I know they have to be cleaned but can they not make it later . apart from that a great site.

Southport again

The usual expected Caravan and Motorhome club standards. Facilities and grounds are well maintained. Southport in easy walking distance. Supermarket with fuel is even nearer. Pub with good beers and reasonable food is a 10 minute walk (Fishermans Rest). No play area on site but the park next door has a good play area. Miniature Railway next to the site, usually rides on Sunday. The atmosphere this year is so much better, the wardens this year have good interpersonal skills which for the past few years were sadly lacking. Not a cheap site but you pay for what you get. The newer side to the site isn't well protected from the winds it can be difficult erecting awnings. I have bent many a peg on the hardstandings of the new area, this year I had no problems at all.

Lovely Site, shame about the cost.

HI, We stayed from 14th until 18th April this year and thoroughly enjoyed our visit in every way. The only disappointing thing was the cost of the standard pitch with awning at £32.50 per night. This seems very expensive, even for Easter. No complaints about anything to do with the site though, and all the wardens were friendly and professional. We will return sometime soon. Thank you.

Disappointing

We have visited this site numerous times in the years we have been caravanning. Lovely site now extended but still has a nice feel about it. Facilities are spotless !! No complaints there. Apart from booking in and returning keys I couldn't tell you who the wardens were. On 2 days 2 men drove past on a tractor type vehicle . We saw 1 lady. For the first time ever We saw dog dirt on the grass verges. That of course is not the fault of the wardens but it was still there 5 days later. There were signs advising about the use of bykes skates skateboards etc but no one seemed to bother, I wouldn't have surprised if there had been a nasty accident. The mark up on bread and milk on the site was way too high. A white loaf which cost £1 in the supermarket was labelled as £1.60.2 pints of milk was £2.40.

OK, I suppose

Spent 4 nights at Southport from 2nd to 6th April. Site location very convenient for town itself but close to a busy, noisy coast road. Even though we were there mid-week, frequent "boy-racers" (cars and motor-bikes) were flying up and down the adjacent road. No fault can be attached to the club but members should be aware of this potential disturbance. The site is clean and well-kept and it was a pleasure to find plenty of coat hooks in toilets, showers and privacy cubicles - a big plus which all sites should have. A minus point was the water supply in toilet block 2 which was barely warm in the morning hours. Whilst notices were posted on the doors about water supply problems, in the 4 days we were there, we saw no evidence of anyone trying to do anything to cure the problem. These shortcomings mneed to be sorted out before the Easter weekend.

A superb site in a very convenient location

Have not stopped on this site for a good number of years, but we have already booked to go back again in September 2017, as we enjoyed the area and the site so much, we found both the wardens and assistants to be very helpful, the site was very clean and the toilets brilliant

Always feels like home

Re-located to Scotland and used this site to visit family. As usual, the site is spotless, staff cheerful, helpful and friendly. Facilities excellent. The site is ideally located to leave your vehicle at the site for the whole stay and walk into Southport itself.
