Good clean site

This is a site review only and no reflection of IoW! The site has excellent wardens who keep the grass and hedges very well maintained and very clean facilities. Has good selection of mostly grass pitches, many with hedges or trees and unless you are fussy do not need levelling blocks. The new part of the site is usual club formula layout of pitches. Reasonably convenient for most tourist hot spots, must follow site directions (ignore at your peril). Would we return? Unlikely, it is too club formula and like many club sites lacking character.

BEST SITE WE HAVE STAYED ON SINCE JOINING THE CLUB

We have just come home from a 15 night stay at Southland Site, its our 3rd visit to the site although we have been coming to the IOW for over 30 years and I feel it is one of the best if not THE best site on the island. It is friendly, clean well run by very organised friendly wardens. They are always there to help where necessary but not interfering in your enjoyment of this lovely island. They keep the site looking beautiful but always have time to talk to you and recommend any places that may be of interest to you when asking for help. I will definitely come back to this site either later in the year or next June. From Carole and Stan and the Corgi's

Great place to stay for all the family including dogs

Just had 7days at this site using it for the first time although have visited I of W 3times previously. Had a great grass pitch in a quiet corner with plenty of space. Very helpful wardens although this was their first season. Very impressed with the high maintenance all round the site but especially with the hedge trimming. Three nights a week a couple of cheerful young ladies arrived with a converted caravan which when they dropped the front of the enlarged side window hey presto a mobile bar called appropriately " The Thirsty Camper". Only downside to the site was there was nowhere outside the site gate to just enjoy a short evening stroll as no footpath and narrow roads. Great play area with views and a very good dog walk.

Never fails to impress

I have stayed on this site several times and have never been disappointed. The four wardens here never stop working and take such pride in looking after the site. I think this is probably the best kept site on the network. Almost all the caravan club sites are beautifully kept, which is why we use them, this one is a bit special though. The only tiny thing I missed was that there was not any hand sanitiser by the dog bin outside the dog walk which most sites seem to have, but that is being very nit picky on my part!! Go, stay there and enjoy!!!!!

PERFECT STAY

We stayed here for 6 nights on a grass pitch with generous space and high hedges which were great for privacy. However, it was very hot and some people had their windows wide open with televisions on loud - a tad annoying if you're enjoying the evening sitting outside. The site is kept immaculate and the wardens are commended for their hard work. We explored the island by bus and we found them to be very reliable. The bus stop is about a 15 min walk from the site. Osborne House is a really good day out. We walked down to the beach and swam, so take your costumes - you can change in the toilets. Recommended places close to the site - we loved Pedallers cafe and also recommend a visit to Ager Farm Nursery (right out of site and then first right) with wonderful pots, hanging baskets and plants. Really friendly people.

.......so far so good!

Mid way through a fortnight stay at Southlands CAMC site. I prefer to use club sites to CL’s etc., our choice I know, and am prepared to pay for it. All the sites are different but are also very similar in many respects. I have to say the staff team at Southlands never seem to stop and the site reflects this!! I’m not normally one for posting reviews but their constant hard work needs appreciation as far as I’m concerned. When we pitched for a fortnight we were taking our dog for a decent walk prior to the awning erection, as I passed a staff member I asked if they had mower out could they cut our grass (that wasn’t really long) when we came out of the loo the grass cutting was underway, all with a smile too! On a wider point, the site is generally a drive away to places but take the positives out of that in that it’s well positioned and not far from many places. We like grass pitching but the hard standing areas are spacious and look nice too. Thank you to the Southlands staff team for all you do!

Absolutely beautiful site.

This was our first visit to this site. We were so impressed with how friendly and hard working the wardens were! Every single one, took the time to say hello, they work incredibly hard all day. The site is spotlessly clean, generous size pitches, especially the hard standing pitches. There is a lovely dog walk, around the site, were the dogs can walk off lead, amazing views over the island. We are definitely coming back next June2022, if not beforehand. Well done to the wardens and the club with this fantastic site x

Well kept site

3rd time at this site, always impressed at the way it is run and maintained. Lovely pitches and clean and modern toilet blocks. Well positioned for travelling to attractions. Two negative comments which are down to people and not the site, people not following the COVID restricted numbers into the toilet blocks and also the amount of unsupervised barking dogs.
