We came back

Just returned from our second visit to Seacroft with our three granddaughters. The first was three years ago. Both visits were loved by the girls who had a ball. Every day was full of fun and dawn to dusk sunshine, needless to say the pool was used extensively, lots of friends were made, the fair next door was a bonus and reasonably priced, it also closed at 10pm, so no late noise. Just by the gate were the bus stops to Cromer (across the road) and east and west Runton through to Sherringham just left out of the gate, both served by regular bus services. This is a good site for families and you don't need to use the car. Lovely walks to Cromer and east Runton, both beaches are dog friendly, though Cromer does have no go areas either side of the pier.

Another return trip

Another return visit to Seacroft. A warm welcome from the duty warden even though it was after 6pm when we arrived. A service pitch on the upper level awaited us, which is always good. A couple of negative points this time though. The toilet block drains were blocked both days. I asked if it was possible to leave later on Sunday and was firmly refuted.....only to find new arrivals being let in early and blocking my exit. We will return later in the autumn though.

Gem of a site

Just back from our second visit to this site. We were there at the same time last year. Still a fab site. This time we were pitched in the newer area up the back. Lovely level pitches with fantastic views with the sea in the distance. Disadvantage of these is the distance to the toilet block and showers, but much quieter and more spacious than the main area. So nice to have the added bonus of the bar, restaurant and of course the swimming pool which the children love. We will be back again next year!

Best site of Caravan club Sites (in my opinion)

Stayed 27/08/2016 only for 2 nights but what a great site, everything you could want on tap, up to now this is the best caravan club site I have been to.

Great to return to

This site was great to return to - previously stayed here 10 years ago when the Caravan Club first acquired this site. Good location with flat walk into Cromer (20 mins) and, in opposite direction, a 10 min walk to East Runton beach (dog friendly, lifeguards, clean toilets & chargeable parking by the hour or 24 hours). Basic shops and cafes here. We also like West Runton a short drive away and enjoyed a lovely meal at the Village Inn - gorgeous large walled garden area for eating outside and buckets of water supplied for dogs. Small selection of shops here, including a very well stocked caravan and camping shop. Morrisons supermarket offer free parking for 2 hours in Cromer. Site details: Large central grass area has enough space for each pitch but these can lack privacy as there are caravans in the middle as well as around the edge. The more traditional hard standing pitches are around the edge and also adjacent to the dog walk. The new serviced pitches are to one side of the main part of the site. Generous pitches here and some have a modest sea view. The cliff-top field across the road from the site is great for dog walks and there are carnival events here for a week during August, mostly free of charge. Club house entertainment very family orientated. Noise from this can be heard if pitched near the site entrance but all is quiet by 11pm. Some noise in evening from carnival field during carnival week. Food in club house was lovely and served hot. Nice decked area for eating outside. Club house is child and dog friendly. Pool great for children to splash in but not really for adults to do length swimming - too small and popular! Lots of children and dogs around on site in school Summer holidays, but we still managed to enjoy some peace & quiet outside the caravan in the lovely sunshine. More pricey than other sites and you have to book very early. Just a few concerns: there are no changing rooms for the pool - use club house toilets (not ideal) or your caravan! Poolside shower not working either when we stayed - potential hygiene issue? Toilets in toilet block didn't always flush well. Office was closed when toilets were being cleaned.

Just returned!

Just returned from a weeks break here. We had a service pitch which was on the new part which was very good. Other pitches may require some levelling. The site is in a fantastic location and the wardens work hard to keep the facilities clean. The beach is 10 mins walk and Cromer around 15/20. The site could do with more than one loo block due to the constant high number of visitors. The club house entertainment for adults was poor. The club should either invest in better entertainment or just sack the adult side off. The children's entertainment was well attended by families. This is a gem of a site with a great location

Sea-side Gem!

We enjoyed a 4 night stay in July at this lovely site. We were fortunate to have a pitch in the newer part of the site and had a lovely spacious pitch with a sea view. This part of the site was peaceful and felt very spacious. The main grassy part of the site felt very crowded and units seemed to be pitched very close together so we felt very fortunate to be in the upper part of the site. The staff were very friendly and helpful from our arrival to departure. They kept the site and facilities very clean and tidy. The swimming pool on site was a real bonus in the warm weather and although the site was busy this facility was never overly crowded. The bar/restaurant was another bonus on a club site and we enjoyed a lovely meal and a drink sitting in the sun on the decked area. The site is a short stroll from Cromer and a slightly longer walk along the beach to the delightful West Runton. Parts of the beach are dog friendly and both Cromer and West Runton were extremely dog friendly places. Look forward to a return trip at some point!

Great site Shame about the Wardens.

re-posted after accidentally being removed.  Just to confirm this is an observation of my stay.  We have been to this site for the past 8 years and have always found the wardens to be very friendly and most helpful with a lovely clean kept site.  This year was all change.  We arrived at 1150 to check in at 1200.  The wardens arrived 1205 checked mail box opened doors at 1215 (not a great start).  We drove around the site found our pitch however the drive around to find the pitch was concerning as didn't look well kept with all the stones normally swept back on ow over the road.  Popped to the toilets which had just been cleaned  apparently.  They didn't smell clean like bleach etc..  In the past they have always smelt cleaned when you walk in.  So pitched up on a hot day walked down to reception 1705 to get Ice-cream for the office to be closed and this was the same every day 1700 on the dot.  Waited for ice cream van to arrive, nothing.  Apparently after speaking with him further along the coast he has been banned from the site.  Bins emptied at 3-330 every day which then caused them to overflow.  Warden arrives next day throwing the bags around and moaning.  This was only done so they could put their feet up early.    Cars going the wrong way down a one way and cars over the 5mph limit.  The wardens not bothered as they were speeding on his tractor not a care at all about safety of the children on site.   The bin on the play area was overflowing. Site full when one day only a few tents and a walk around confirmed at least 7 pitches free on main site. Toilets never felt clean on one day closed 1030 opened 1130 how can that be cleaned well.  The showers had empty tubes left for a couple of days.  The complex was kept still at a high standard and feel the wardens have this year let the site down with cleanliness.  Normally you see the wardens on site walking around in the evening this year only the assistant wardens I seen in the evening from time to time never actual main wardens.  Great training they are giving.  However all this aside I hope to visit again next year and have the site back to normal.  Such a shame this year.  As I started I will finish it with it was my observation on 8 years visiting.  It's an honest review.

Message from The Club:

Great Position

Cromer and North Norfolk are some of our favourite places and this site is in a perfect position for both. Very clean, with really friendly and helpful wardens and the facilities of the pool and bar/restaurant are great. We did have two issues, the first that the toilets were often not flushed and on more than one occasion saw a warden unblocking them, we then realised that this is because the flushing mechanism didn't work well - in fact a hard flush meant the handle rotated in a full circle and prevented flushing - this needs sorting. Our second issue is that Seacroft is a very popular site and difficult to find vacancies, so why isn't it members only instead of being available to anyone?

7th Consecutive Annual Visit

Our Grandkids (boy 12, girl 10) love this site. This was their seventh consecutive annual holiday at Seacroft and they're already planning, with friends they've made at the site, to meet next year! Although there are wonderful beaches nearby, they never want to leave the site, very happily playing at the park, clubhouse  or swimming pool.  They entertain themselves with friends all day, as well as entering the talent show and karaoke in the evenings. This year we booked a service pitch which was a boon particularly with the delightful neighbours on both sides.  We even enjoyed a couple of parents & kids 'Street BBQs' (3 other vans joined in) and that is not a natural for us. The cliff top walk of just over a mile into Cromer is spectacular.  We are committed fans of this site!
