What have they done

We first visited this site four years ago, there was plenty of grassed areas. We were some what shocked at the changes, gone were the grass pitches and areas, in there place were hard standings, which consisted of black hardcore, these stones were quite sharp, causing the dog problems with it's  paws. Moan over, the wardens as always were very good the toilets were kept very clean, even though they are starting to look tired. We had a really good time, but because of my earlier moan, I don't think we will be back.

One of the best

Stayed four days to try out new caravan. Found the site to be one of the best we have used in more years than I care to remember.A real credit to the hard working friendly wardens. The site is very well laid out,not just lines of caravans in a field, plenty of room round each pitch. The dog walk and playing area set a standard for all sites to aim for.As near perfect a site as one could hope for (the caravan did well also)

A surprise turn up

Booked a short 3 night stay essentially to babysit our grandchildren while our kids went to their friends wedding. Turned out we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back for more. Superb facilities and surprisingly good walks direct from the site. Even Scarborough in the beautiful October sunshine turned up trumps and ideal for the little ones. Top marks to the friendly staff!!

West Ayton close to Scarborough

What a beautiful site. Everything was perfect for us and the collie dogs. This was the best dog walk in a caravan site that we've ever been to and on through the gate, you had a choice of walks into the countryside. Lovely hot showers, cubicles, toilets everywhere was very clean. Very good fish restaurant in West Ayton with huge plateful of food!! First time to Scarborough and Whitby where we took the steam train to Grosmont where you can visit the engine sheds. Lots of history, brilliant.

chill time.

Have just come back after spending  8  great days there ,weather was a bounce.  A credit to the wardens who keep this site to a fantastic  standard, well kept and the service  points well cleaned and the facilities, my only  negative  point is wish some club members should remember  to treat it as they treat it like they do at home Dog walk great, nice and clean, good dog owners picking up.  Good pub and nice food at the old forge  dog friendly  great atmosphere  lovley bar staff, couldn't  be more helpful. Will be back.

Restful visit

We stayed over the late Sept/early Oct period and the site was not too busy, so we had a wonderful pitch overlooking some (closed at that time) grass pitches and woodland. It was very quiet and peaceful. The site is well located for the Scarborough/Whitby/Filey coastline and the beautiful North Yorks Moors countryside. Very well maintained by the wardens. The lower shower block is starting to show its age, having smaller shower cubicles with no built in seat and wash cubicles with a curtain rather than a door. But the showers have old fashioned shower heads which deliver a wonderful blast of water which is now considered inappropriately wasteful of resources! One of our favourite sites.

Amazing site with first class wardens

We stayed here in April and returned again in October. It was immaculate on both occasions. The wardens were busy all the time and always had a friendly greeting both around the site and in reception. The facilities were extremely clean and well maintained. We will certainly be back again next year.

A beautifully kept and well situated site.

We have visited West Ayton previously and will certainly do so again. A well manicured site, the level of pride taken in it by the hard working wardens is clearly evident. The only minor criticism is the shower block at 'the bottom' of the site is looking a little ragged around the edges and could do with some tlc.

Great Site, Great Place

Had a lovely 3 day Autumn long weekend break here. Site was immaculate and the facilities very good. Liked the location being close to the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire coastline. Marred only by someone with TV on loud with their windows open till midnight but that's not the fault of the site. Will return again. Thanks Wardens it's a great site.
