Great Site but let down by toilets/ showers

The site is fantastic but seriously let down by the toilet/ shower facilities (Please Caravan Club invest some money into these facilities because it has potential to be one of the best sites in the UK) The staff were brilliant and really helpful. The 2 parks for the children were great! including the games room. The dog field was great as well as having a dog shower on site (great idea and first one i've noticed at a club site) The location was great for access to Scarborough, Whitby, Dalby Forest etc.. and the walks around the site for the Forest Park were excellent. The shower and toilet facilities were the worst i've seen for The Caravan Club. They were all old/ dated and generally felt dirty. Before I came to this site i thought all CC sites had the standard toilet/ shower facilities but obviously not. I would come back as the family really enjoyed the stay but just think a bit of investment is needed.

Lovely Site

We love going to this site every year The present wardens are extremely helpful and friendly. The only downside which I would say about the Club is that during the winter a lot of trees have been cut down, which is great as it opens the site up,but when we were there the road to the dog walk ought to have been swept as it was covered in dried sludge.Thankfully it didn't rain or our dog would have been in a mess.Don't get me wrong this is only minor.I noticed that there was a road sweeping depot just up the lane with their lorries driving past in the morning.May be one of these could have been diverted around the site.

Love this site

We have been to this site so many times and will keep going has its our fave site. The wardens we know from this site in the past and are very good at keeping it clean and tidy, excellent job. We found the only problem was other guests and their dogs. When your out walking your dog and someone else's dog comes bounding over to your dog around the site, that can be a problem. One of my dogs can be funny with large adult male dogs so we keep him on a lead, like the rule states for around the site. Some people insist that doesn't apply to them and let their dogs off lead and not tied up, so their dog can roam out their awning and away from their caravan. Not fun. Also people not picking up after their dogs. I had the honour of walking someone else's dog mess into our caravan, thank you to all those that refuse to pick up. People need to understand that it's not the wardens job to pick up after the quest's dogs, if you going to bring a dog, clean up after it and keep it under control or don't bring it. The wardens keep that site very clean and did awesome job.

Great site

Stayed at this site in March of this year. It is just what you would expect of a Caravan Club site. It was very clean, well set out and in a lovely setting. I read earlier reviews regarding modernising the toilets/washrooms.although a little dated they are very clean and well maintained. I , however have two little-very little downs, firstly the yellow marker post around the site. This would make it very awkward to reverse a caravan into some of the pitches , especially longer units.I understand there is a need to keep vehicles off certain areas of grass but right by the pitch I don't think is necessary. Secondly the hard standing pitches are HARD STANDING ,I bent half a dozen good solid six inch nail type pegs and broke a mallet trying to erect my awning. The Joy's of caravaning. On the whole a wonderful site . 5*

Fantastic Site

As a "born again caravaner" and new to the caravan club this is only the second site I have been on and I have to say I am most impressed with this site. The staff were from the moment we arrived very friendly and helpful and remained so for the 3 days we were there. Some reviews talked of "dated" washroom/toilet blocks but we found these to be more than adequate, always kept immaculately and spotlessly clean (in fact, you could set your watch by the arrival of the cleaners). We would have no issues in recommending this site to anyone wanting a peaceful, out-of-the-way place to stay within easy reach of several seaside towns. Many thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again later on in the year. John Mold

Fantastic quick break

A thoroughly enjoyable short overnight stay in a beautiful setting not far from Scarborough. Everyone on site was friendly and helpful, with great facilities. We are looking forward to visit again soon.

Very nice site.

Very quiet and very clean, it was early November 2nd to the 5th to be fair. Well situated for our requirements. Staff were very friendly and helpful. would certainly go back there again. Only one thing I would like to see changed is the addition of a water stand pipe by the pitch instead of having to refill the water but so frequently.

Lovely week

Just spent a week at this site really enjoyed it. First site we've been in that caters for dogs by providing shower space, fabulous idea. Good walks all around site. The only down side is the shower blocks need updating. If you are going, try Walkers fish restaurant in the village (great).

Showers Need an Upgrade

Just spent a lovely week at this site with the dogs - great site for dogs and met lots of really nice people. Wardens very helpful and friendly. Only down side is the showers are too few and too small - it's irritating each morning having to queue for one of the only three showers when six out of the seven privacy cubicles are not in use, could easily be sorted by reducing the number of unused privacy cubicles in favour of more showers. Wouldn't stop us coming back but they do need an upgrade.
