Beauty and tranquility

A fantastic peaceful site, set along side the river beamish. If it is peace and quite you want set in beautiful surroundings this is the site for you.As per usual pristine clean. It is a pity you never really have much contact with the wardens, things are so well organised when you arrive the only time we needed them we forgot what nights the fish and chip van came.10 out of 10.

Ten out of Ten

Booked for four nights but wish we stayed longer. Beautiful site with access to cheviot hills. Although weather was poor ,still enjoyed our break. The site wardens were very helpful and assisted me with my connection to wifi. Toilet block and washing facilities were exceptionally well cleaned and one of the best facilities we have been in. No little stool in showers that take up room as fitted bench gave more room to shower in comfort. Squeeze for each cubicle ensures dry floors after showering . Pity some other sites do not do this instead of a dirty mop in a bucket. Lovely meal in tankerville arms and worth the short drive to a nearby village . Local pub I could not comment on for a meal . We will be returning to this site as its now on my favourite list.

Look Forward to Returning

What a great site for nature watchers/birdwatchers. The walk around the lakes is superb. Lovely clean site. Toilet block always clean. The site is within easy reach of many attractions, such as Cragside House, Alnwick Castle, to name two. Looking forward to returning next year.

Peace and quiet - mostly

Very nice site, very clean and tidy, in a superb location for all the reasons previously stated. The beaches are big and quiet. National Trust properties close by and well worth a visit. The garage at the end of the road has a shop within. It's fairly well stocked and handy (don't expect large supermarket prices but the convenience is well worth it). The site has a large play area away from the c'vans, but there is no play equipment.

What a breathe of fresh air

Our first visit to this site and what a treasure we loved it, so peaceful and well laid out. The facilities were very good though l did think the top loading washer was not too efficient.  The bird life was in abundance and the Branton Lakes Nature Reserve could be found to the right from the site, and look for the gravel car park on the right - not sign posted. We hope to return again.

Superb site

We really enjoyed our stay here, the facilities & cleanliness were top rate. You are within easy reach of many castles, grand houses & beaches so no chance to be bored. The hill walking is superb - magnificent views & so quiet & peaceful, walked all day & only saw 2 people, a bit different from the Lake District! Would certainly recommend this site.

exceptional site

This was the first site we have ever stayed on and our first trip in our new motor home.  The site was brilliant, the staff were friendly and the facilities were excellent  plus great dog walks.   Other sites will have a lot to live up to!  Will definitley be back soon.

exceptional site

The situation and layout of this site is very good. Easily accessed, very quiet with incredible dog walks. Due to the river and other areas of water I would not be keen to take youngsters to this site. The site facilities are very good and the wardens Alwyn and Tony are "simply the best"
