Security concern

While as always I could not fault the site as described. My only concern was we had no security gate or bar and on more than one occasion I watched as vehicles both cars and vans drove around the site. Maybe looking for easy pickings or do I just have a suspicious nature.

Clean Peaceful Site

Cheerful freindly welcome from warden Karen. Site very clean, toilet and facilities block excellent. Very quiet, only sound at night was tawny owls calling. Excellent nature reserve easily walkable from site. We caught a local bus from the petrol station in Powburn to Alnwick for the day for £5.00 return.  Will definately be back.

Bank Holiday Break

We have just returned from a five night stay at River Breamish. We will certainly return. The site is immaculate. The walks around the site are excellent and the staff are great. Due to a minor mishap en route we needed the help of the local caravan repair man. He was also very helpful. We have, over the years stayed at many club sites and this ranks with the best of them. Just a shame the local pub, which is within walking distance has closed down. Now looking forward to our next short break

Superb site

I've just written a long and detailed review of our incredibly lovely stay last week, then it disappeared in front of my eyes, which is terribly frustrating. As I can't repeat everything again, I'll just say 1) The Wardens are incredibly patient, professional and always stop to chat if you accost them about their business , yet they manage to get everything pristine and lovely 2) The site is beautifully situated by the River, which bubbles charmingly across cobbles and stones, and there's a wee beach which water loving doggies adore 3) Lots of wildlife, especially birds. The reclaimed gravel works just yards from the site's gates gives the longest, most gorgeous walk along the edges of huge lakes ,full of birdlife. 4) I echo the comments of others re the coast , Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell Bay etc We'll be back later this year. Thank you CC and thank you Wardens for a truly exceptional site and great service

Excellent Northumberland site for all

I was loathe to review this site as it's so good everybody will want to go and then we won't get in again later this year. There is absolutely nothing to fault and it was truly a professional but warm welcome. The facilities are outstanding the best I have seen from the CC and I have seen many. Pitches are flat and easy to get into. It's a great location for walking, cycling and wildlife watching if you cycle you will need a good map for the tracks and minor roads. There are loads of easy walks from the site and fantastic access to all kinds of wildlife especially with the small lakes nearby. There was a pub in Powburn but closed at the moment and due to reopen shortly so take your own beer and wine just in case. There is however a small shop and garage in Powburn. We stayed for four nights and would have stayed longer but we had commitments at home. Best CC I have stayed on and great value for money for the location. Thanks to the wardens.

A Northumbrian Jewel

We normally stay on CLs for the peace and quiet and price. This year we went to Scotland to stop on a CL but found our water heater had died. We quickly checked out and into the Blair Drummond Affiliated Site, where the site was busy but where showers would save us from 2 weeks of ripeness! The site was good, but nothing special. Eventually we decided to return to East Sussex, breaking the journey at Northumberland. What a great decision! An early start saw us arrive at River Breamish by 1pm. The staff were just so welcoming, both on the phone and in person. We quickly took the pitch of our choice and enjoyed visiting nearby Alnwick and Alnmouth. What a superb area! A forgotten place, since Mr Google sends most people north to Scotland via the M6. Go via the A1 and stop over in Northumberland at River Breamish for a few days. The site is beautifully set out and the showers are to die for. Wonderful clean facilities on a site surrounded by a nature reserve. Next day we visited Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle but in the evening couldn't find a suitable chippy. Low and behold, when we returned to River Breamish there was a chippy van on site (Mondays). No disappointments at all. Next time we will stay for a week or two, walking in the nearby Cheviots and along the fabulous coast. Thanks especially to the wardens who make this a site for the club to be proud of.

Staying at Breamish

We had a super week at this site in April this year. The site managers are fabulous and couldn't help us enough when we had  problem with our caravan. This is a brilliant site for both access to mountains ad the coast. We love it.

Fabulous Site

We visit this site every year at the beginning and end of the season and are never disappointed. The facilities are excellent and the new wardens this year are very friendly and are doing an excellent job. As others have said its a pity the local pub has closed but the locals who now use the pub at Glanton tell us it will reopen later this year. As we had no local this time we had to explore further afield. The Tankerville Arms at Eglingham has real ale and good food and there is a very good Italian Restaurant (Milan) in Wooler.
