Love Love Love this site for the Peace & Quiet & Views

This is one our most favourite sites for the beautiful scenery, the peace and quiet, the swans flying over the site to the lake nearby, the sounds of nature all around. The fact that everything you need is nearby within half hour drive you are on the coast. Just the most relaxing places to be, sitting early in the morning with coffee in hand just listening to nature. Wonderful clean and friendly especially for dogs :o)

Great site

We have visited this site several times and it never fails to delight us. The toilet block is the best We have seen. The pitches are broken up by trees and hedges and are reasonably flat. There is a good dog walk on site and an excellent one nearby I.e. about 400 meters from the entrance. There are no shops nearby and the pub is about 1000 meters as is the petrol station.Great reception. We use the site mainly as a stopover but handy for Alnwick and National Trust property Cragside.

Heading South

Site very nice, wardens especially friendly. Toilets usual high club standard. You definitely need transport at this site. There is not a pub close by, but there is a service station on the main road, which has a good shop attached. This is a good site for staying put, but If like us you were sightseeing, its too far out. Alnwick Castle is worth a visit, but beware the carpark is £3, the town parking which is adjacent to the castle is free. The castle grounds are amazing, and the "Poison Garden" is a real eye opener. Unless you are a "Harry Potter" fan save your self some money, and just stick with the gardens.

Still Fantastic

On our second visit to River Breamish it was as good as we remembered. A fantastic site, wardens, surrounding area. I think this is our favourite site!

Another fab weekend.

Here for another three nights, very peaceful, lovely walks for dogs. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Easy run into Alnwick and all the little seaside villages.

Lovely weeks holiday at River Breamish

We visited the site for the last week in September. The staff were very friendly from the word go and our pitch was superb. Close to the facilities, although none are very far away. The shower/toilet/washing block was immaculate, even at 10.30 just before cleaning. A fish and chip van visits twice a week and were delicious but pricey.  The site is well placed to visit Alnwick gardens and castle, Bamburgh and Holy Island and Craigside NT, and many others beside. We even had a day out in Edinburgh, about an hour and a half away. All in all a lovely trip and a lovely site.

Good location

Nicely placed to visit Northumberland National Park, the coast etc. Nice jog round the adjacent lake footpath/dogwalk. There were some quarry lorries on the move but not until afetr 07.30, but they weren't intrusive. Friendly wardens - good site.

A gem

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this site. The wardens where amazingly friendly and helpful above and beyond the call of duty. We too were there when the sewage problem was being dealt with but can't say it was a problem and it was dealt with efficiently and as quickly as possible. We found the site well placed for visiting the many sites of interest and will be using it again.

Very nice site.

We really like this site, not so rigid in appearance as some with very helpful, pleasant, hard working wardens. Excellent information on the regional flora & fauna. We were there when the sewerage problem was on but didn't have the problems some have mentioned nor heard anybody complain. As to arriving early, as a warden said to me at our previous site, they are estimated times of arrival, not Germany's trains! At this site the wardens seem to deal with the problem, if it is a problem, very well with no stress. Some pitches are in the shade & damp in the latter part of the year, so take a bearing if that's an issue. Facilities were clean and plentiful. Wonderful easy walks a few miles away (but damp when we were there) good beaches, Nth Berwick is good. We have visited a number of times, and so have other family members, a site to go back to.

At the start a very expensive CL - tongue in cheek

As previously stated there was a major fault with the wash block drainage pump. Got to ask, "why 2 drainage systems on one site?" The wardens did their very best and deserve thanks. However, I did not see any mention of the problem in "Important information" on the Club website during our eleven nights and new bookings were still being taken (fellow visitor extended his stay via the website), Also the Club's mixed earliest arrival times for sites caused a lot of discussion. I didn't get involved as it's my pet hate and once started.... It is a great site but some pitches are in permanent shade. I'm getting on me soap box now so cheerio and you will enjoy a visit. Those arriving more than an hour early should be charged another nights fee with appropriate penalties for lesser times where early arrivals can not be accommodated. Ticking off some people has no effect whatsoever. Do not blame the wardens. The club makes the rules and should enforce them accordingly. The reason I think so many people mentioned the subject at Breamish was the fact some folk arrived well before 12noon at a 1pm earliest arrival site. Apologies for going on and we will be returning.
