just returned from this site loved our stay there but all to short. I booked just to see the British fireworks championship. so just four days . I wish I had booked for longer but had to be home for appointments. the site has great views over Plymouth sound and all the surrounding area. The wardens could not be more helpful when arrive assisting you with which pitch you might have. and keeping the site very clean an tidy. nice dog walk on site. and a play area for children but no swings slides etc. so I think better for adult's. no toilet block but we use our caravan shower etc any way. there will be a next time and a longer stay. the wardens do a brilliant job thank you Dave & Sue smith
Amazing Wardens.
We were so pleased to see Wardens Kevin and Anita at the Plymouth Sound Site again and we knew we were in for a good untroubled relaxing 10 day break away at this Site.
This site is a little tight on the last 1/2 mile to get to, no problem to for the more traveled caravaner and a good experience for the more novice and anxious driver.well worth the journey.
You will enjoy your stay. Ronnie and Rosie.

Quiet, peaceful and Beautiful views
Lovely quiet small site with a view over Plymouth Sound. This is our second visit and this year we saw the first four Fastnet boats finish. Friendly and helpful warden and a very well kept site.

Lovely site
This site was more lovely than our expectations, as it doesn't have a toilet block, It has a lovely friendly atmosphere and helpful wardens and is probably one of the best sites we have visited.
Our dog loved the dog walk and it is easily accessible and safe for dogs to run in.. Great views of Plymouth sound, country side and Bovisand beach.
My favourite stay of all sites I've visited
Having spent 7 months on CL sites and main club sites, this site bas been my favourite - Great views over Plymouth Sound/estuary, coastal path walks are only a mile away, ferry rides to the Barbican and other destinations are only a few miles away with free parking available. The Wardens, Kevin and Anita, are very helpful and keep the place looking pristine! Loved it!

Fantastic Site
What a great site - views are fabulous from most pitches even the top ones which are best for motorhome! Wardens only too happy help and suggest things to do. Access roads a little narrow but once there you are rewarded with those views and peace! Walked into Plymouth along the coastal path which is steep in places but not too bad. You can catch a regular bus from the other side of Bovieland in the car park but that is a fair walk down hill (obviously uphill on way back!) and then across the bay. That one runs every hour or so and I think goes into Plymouth? Bus in village (easy walk) runs only once a day into Plymouth returning about 15.00.

A Sound Place to Stay
A Site with great views over Plymouth Sound, some pitches require blocks for levelling, the tiop pitches are quite level. The beach at Bovisand is about 30minutes walk downhill there is an alternative walk down from Down Thomas which is less steep and has less traffic. The food at the local pub is good and fairly priced. One note of caution, do not leave the site with your Motorhome or Caravan if the local bus is due, we were held up for about 30 minutes to allow a caravan to reverse to a passing place, the local buses will not reverse under any circumstances. A great site to visit for the views alone.
Great views
Stayed here 10th June 2019, great views over The Sound, very helpful wardens. Facilities are clean. It was a wet day but we walked down to the beach, to a cafe overlooking the bay, in which we took shelter to dry off over a mug of hot chocolate while watching the ships in the distance. The cafe would be especially nice on a bright day and staff are friendly. Access to the camp is quite narrow, but ok. Use the website directions rather than sat nav.
Plymouth sound
The site is basically a big open field with EHU bollards. It's reasonably flat near the top but more sloping as you go further down, so if you head for the lower pitches (with the better views) you'll need some of the many blocks stored near the wardens office.
The on!y grey waste disposal point is at the top of the field, so it's a good idea to empty it regularly. There is no shower block.
The dog walk is good, and there's a sandy beach at Bovisand bay (turn right out of the gate and follow the narrow road) to give muttly a good run - it's about 10 minutes down hill and 15 back up.
Locally the Mussel Inn is welcoming, dog friendly and the food is very good. If heading for Plymouth you can park at Mount Batten for free and catch the ferry across to see the sites
Little Gem
Absolutely lovely peaceful place. Out of the way of everything which is what we wanted but close to Plymouth for shops etc.
Fantastic views out across Plymouth sound, loved watching the ships and boats coming in and out of harbour. We were very lucky to HMS Queen Elizabeth just outside the harbour on manoeuvres.
Kevin and Anita are lovely and know all about the surrounding area, places to go and visit.
No toilets block, but hey you don't pay all that money out for a caravan to not use your own shower and toilet, and a couple of trips for water.
This place is a little gem of a site, we have been to Tintagel site a few times, but this site is just a good. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.
