perfect in every way.

I've been to a few sites in my time but this one was the best out of them all. Prices are great, nice and quiet, lovely wardens and very helpful. I would also like to highly recommend the pasties they make on site, wow!

Glad we found this one

Great welcome from the warden, apart from discussing pitches for good views and access to the Dog Walk they gave a brief review of what's what in the area, in particular where to park for FREE to catch the Ferry that takes you across the Sound straight to the heart of Plymouth (every half hour and till late 10pm in the summer). The site is grass and sloping but we had one of the flat pitches. It is a very smart site the team keep it looking well. I have already mentioned the Dog Walk...well it is a dog exercise are, large and fenced with the grass mown in an imaginative pattern providing a network of crisscross tracks between the long grass. There is also a playing field for children though only one family were there during our week long stay. I am told the site is rarely full, perhaps that is because there are no facilities but that is not one of our priorities. The location and views make it a cert that we will be back. In fact we would have stayed longer but our visit was at the end of over 4 weeks away and like many older caravaners hospital clinic appointments called. Yep... no complaints a re great site and staff the Club should be proud of.

A gem of a site

This is our second 'no facilities' C&MC site and is just as good as The Howard. The location is stunning, views across Plymouth Sound, great pub, useful shop, bus stop outside, friendly wardens. What more could one want!

Plymouth Sound

Approach Road tight. Good greeting by the relief Wardens. Had a problem with our electrics and the Wardens gave some good helpful advice.Granted the site is sloping but levelling blocks are worthwhile for the outstanding view. Very peaceful site and relaxing. Good for an overnight stop or a long stay

Peaceful and relaxing break

A great little site with far reaching views over Plymouth Sound. Even though there is no toilet block it is not a problem. Take care on the approach to the site as the roads are narrow with passing places especially in the village. We received a very warm welcome from the friendly Wardens who assisted us pitching our large motorhome and offered useful information about the local area and places for us to visit on our motorbike. The site was kept spotless and very well maintained by the two wardens. Lots of walks from the site and plenty of places to visit within 30 to 45 minutes drive. We will be back soon.

Campervan Visit May 2018

Welcoming helpful wardens who advised us on a suitable pitch with wonderful view over the Sound - many are quite sloping and would be difficult to get level with a bigger motorhome and could be difficult to access if very wet. Well kept and supervised site giving access to Coast Path, but necessitating walk down multi-use road/footpath. Plenty of other footpaths around. Pleasant walk along CP to Mount Batten Ferry to access Plymouth with all it's attractions. We cycled from site through Plymstock to the Plym Cycle Trail without great difficulty - probably not suitable for young children but helped by excellent cycle trail map available from Tourist Information at the Barbican in Plymouth and also online. We would recommend the Mussell Inn in Down Thomas - not cheap but high quality food & beer.

Wonderful break.

We had a fantastic break here last weekend. We have a 7 metre motorhome and tow a small car. The narrow lanes were no problem to navigate. When we arrived we had such a lovely welcome by the wardens who went out of their way to advise on the best spot to set up. Having no toilet block was not a problem for us and the price reflects this making for a very economical stay. The views are amazing. Can’t wait to visit again!

Site cancelled booking at very late notice!

Well it would have been nice to be able to leave a review but unfortunately we were phoned late this evening and told that our booking from tomorrow was no longer available. The gentleman who called said that a motorhome of 9m would not be suitable at this time of the year because the ground would be too wet! Perhaps? I'm wondering why our booking was taken in the first place and why we weren't informed earlier. I now have to find an alternative site at very short notice to continue out holiday walking the Coast Path. Thanks Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Too far out of the way.

I say too far out of the way because you have to travel through lanes and houses for 10 to 15 minutes to get anywhere, and for us there was not much to do when there. Wardens and site were excellent, wi fi or 4g were good, views yes great, dog walk good, to get to the beach you have to walk down a narrow busy road, not pleasant, small and not worth the walk either. Summary, good site but not much to do while there so be prepared to travel a bit for your entertainment.
