A little disappointed

This was probably our worse experience with the caravan club. There were far to many dogs per caravan. We do have a dog but there were far to many allowed. The toilet facilities werent the cleanest to date plus queing for showers was a first for us. More showers needed. The near by country park has nice grassy areas but the attractions were shabby. The beach was very disappointing. No facilities there whatsoever. Rubbish litterd around  and at low tide you can forget going for a swim. We will not be returning to this site

Nice

Good location for lots of activities. Hard to track down when some in the Country Park are actually available but hardly the CC's fault. Nicely laid out site with decent facilities. Love the mailman and baker vans. The kids loved the ice cream van. Enough said!

COULD BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER

We have just spent an enjoyable week at Pembrey; this was our first visit. Everything was as expected at a well-run Caravan Club Site with all the facilities in place and working well. However I was a little disappointed to find barking dogs (i.e useless owners) on a Caravan Club Site and would ask that in future, where "the rules" state something like "dogs should be kept under control" that this should include stopping their dogs from barking. I don't see why I should have to put up with this (again) when I just want to spend a peaceful time away with my wife. Once again it seems that dogs and their owners take precedence over non-dog owners. Please do something about it; its about time for a noisy dogs' owner to be shown the gate of the site. They'd soon do something about it!!

Lovely Stay Despite the Weather

Sadly we didn't get the best of the weather but the site was very clean and tidy and our pitch was in a good location.  Couldn't fault the site just had a slight problem in that I have arthritis and didn't actually get to the beach.  Paid twice, but couldn't find a car park near enough to be able to walk the distance and there did not seem to be any disabled access points or any directions that we could find. Saying that, if you are fit and able and have kids and/or a dog it's a brilliant place to visit.

Pembrey weekend away.

Great site in a lovely area. The site itself is well organised, has large pitches, nice clean facilities, and a good amount of service points around the park. The wardens were friendly and helpful. The location for us with two dogs was excellent, right next to the club site was Pembrey country park which was the best dog walk ever with miles of forest and beach walks. We parked the car up for the weekend and had a peaceful and relaxing time away.

Great site in excellent location

Spent two nights at this site recently during a tour of South Wales. The site is in a lovely location - immediately next to Pembrey Country Park where there are lots of fabulous walks to be enjoyed. The site is well laid out and, despite its size, feels small and private due to the various pitching areas there. There are grass pitches in secluded wooded sections and hard standings in the usual row type pattern - take your choice! The Wardens are welcoming and knowledgable about the area. The site is visited regularly by a bakers van, a milkman and an ice cream man! Lots of lovely dog walks on the doorstep and the beach is a 15 minute walk away. Very impressed with this site and we will look to stay there again in future.

Fantastic site

We stayed for three nights, beautiful location, although the country park itself seems to be having problems with its facilities which is a shame, however the beach was stunning, showers and toilets very clean and the wardens were so helpful with regard to local knowledge and good walks to try.   Great site for families.

Lovely site, loads to see and do

We have just returned from Pembrey caravan park which was our first real outing in our caravan. Firstly the trip to the site was easy going no windy roads and very accessible. We found the site absolutely fantastic. Tiolet and showers were clean, quite modern and the toddler / baby change bathroom made showering easier with my toddler, the pitches were nicely spaced so your not ontop of anyone else, lots of service points around the park. There is also a visit from a man in van who drives the park selling bread cakes pop etc another van sells milk and orange juice this is Monday to Friday service. Staff on the park are very polite and helpful, with 2 teenagers and a toddler there was plenty to do and see. The park has many things such as tabbogganing, skiing horse riding, golf, walking, cycles paths, etc The cycle paths are a lovely walk which takes u 20 min to walk to the beach. Beach is absolutely lovely, we were lucky to have good weather so had a picnic on the beach. We will definitely be returning to Pembrey caravan park as we were very pleased with our visit. My only gripe for the park is the playground could do with updating, there wasn't really much for my toddler and probably a games room for the older kids as things to do were limited when it rained the last 2days. Apart from that we had a great time.

Quite with plenty to do.

Great site, wonderful location, walks (mostly flat) in all directions. About 10 to 15 minutes to the beach, take care the tide comes in very quickly. If you want to take the car into the park there is a fee, £5 i think, walking in or cycling is free, plenty to do in park, visit website to check it out, or visit the information centre inside the park, There used to be a pub and restaurant in the park, this has now closed, so now there is only the cafe that is part of the ski slope complex, so take provisions with you.

the country and sea in one

arrived to a warm welcome, and pointed towards the pitches. They are quite big, and level. We were on a grass one, and it weathered very heavily all night, but moving off the following day was no problem, no sinking at all. Pembrey is great, lots to look at, from WW2 gun emplacements to skiing, and miles of woodland walks to a 5 mile beach, all within a nice easy stroll. There is nothing much in the way of shop/bar or food on site but locally there is what you need, not far away.
