Happy Campers.

Stayed in early July and although the weather wasn't good, we had a very enjoyable stay. The wardens were refreshingly friendly and very helpful.. The pitches are generally very spacious in a nice partly wooded area. The toilet block was spotless. We would return and can recommend this site as being convenient for seeing Carmarthenshire. Thank you to all the staff for a great Welsh welcome to one of her sons now living in Devon.

Minor niggles

The site and wardens are fine. Water was hot, keys a pain in the (you know where), and some pitches a bit rough and on a slope. I note some members think the showers need replacing - WHY? I found them fine and I won't see 75 again! I am not impressed by the music but I suppose some people like it. My wife found it too soft for her to hear and this annoyed her. For me any volume would be too loud, I caravan to get away from things like that. -------The site plan could do with the wicket gate being labelled as one member didn't find it. It is a pity the country park is a bit run down at present but it is still a super place to go.

Good holiday

Very pleased with this site and thought the layout was very good. The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly. We did notice that some dog owners did let their dogs off the lead and although they seemed well behaved, they could have caused some problems. The continual noise from the ranges nearby was a shame (not the area to buy a house). Overall a well run site.

Very disappointed

After reading a lot of the reviews it was an easy decision to make this the 2nd part of our 2 site holiday. My I wish so much we had stayed at the first site at Brecon. Firstly I will applaud the wardens, they took some beating , brilliant all of them, helpful, friendly, fun, knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble and they kept the site immaculate, however that's where it ends. Firstly took us 3 pitches to find one that even resembled level, a lot are tucked under trees and are pretty dark, ended up on grass which was at least well draining and pretty firm but was a cut through for everyone to get to the gate to the park and therefore a late night dog toilet yuk.  The toilet block was so dated it was like stepping back 10 years, small shower cubicles with a bench so high it was impossible,to put your leg up to dry your feet if you are of the older generation or just not agile it was an impossibility and I went back to our van with wet feet each time, the water pressure is appalling You nearly have to stand in the back drain to get under the shower head, 6 showers each for men and women without any service pitches is just totally unacceptable for such a large site. By the way don't forget your key to get into the shower block as we did afew times it's a right pain having to go back to get one, why not a keypad if we must keep them locked at all times. The beach is as said a mile through the park but please note if you do have dogs you have to walk a further long distance to get to the dog section and you seem to share this with speeding sand kites and buggies. The park if you have kids is fine but for adults forget it there is only so much walking through faceless trees you can do. Boring was not the word we are great walkers but it lacks variety and everywhere else is a good car journey away. We hoped for peace and quiet and seemed to pick a time when there was obviously something going on a Pembrey race track and had to listen to the constant drone of bikes, along with what was probably bird. Scarers going off all the time and yes you can hear the trains.  Yes it probably sounds like a rant but we were so disappointed we will not return nor would we recommend it at all. Come on Caravan Club invest some money here it so badly needs it.

Great site, great location

This is such a nice place to visit.  The site is excellent, with little peaceful nooks to park even in a busy season.  Facilities are very good but the best bit is the access to Pembrey Country Park with its miles of forest and beach walks.  Once arrived you don't have to move the van again until you leave - that is real bliss!  We will visit again!

Near Heaven

Just returned from our first visit to Pembrey C.C.Site. Very warm and cheerful welcome from wardens - toilet block and facilities spotless and in excellent order. Numerous waste disposal points conveniently located around the site. Site roads almost motorway standard asphalt and curbing and generously wide - first class. This delightful site is located at the entrance to the Pembrey Country Park with easy access to Park and beach. One of the C.C.Site's top sites. Well done all.

Excellent Couple of days

Lovely site with excellent facilities and very helpful wardens. Took our 2 dogs and found the surrounding walks 1st Class as well as the dog friendly part of the beach. We will visit again soon but this time leave our dogs behind so that we can make good use of the excellent cycling layouts.

Excellent weeks stay - one of the best sites weve been to

Just back from a 7 night stay here and it is one of the best sites we've been to and certainly the best CC site. The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly on arrival and always waved throughout the stay. There werent many pitches available when we arrived but there was loads of room in between pitches - def one of the largest pitches weve had.  The site was very peaceful and quiet and even when busiest at the weekends, had a very pleasant ambience. Toilets etc always spotless and only had to wait once during the cleaning time and only for a couple of minutes so no problem. Pembrey Park is fantastic for walking and our dogs loved it. I went horse riding in the park during the stay, which was also lovely. Only downside to the Country park is the people who leave their rubbish, particularly on the beach, but not at all a reflection on the Club site. You need to watch the entrance fee to the Park as sometimes its free but other times they charge - sometimes £2 and sometimes £5 - and doesnt seem to be any logic or system as to when and why but again not a Caravan Club issue. Would definitely come here again :0)
