One of the cleanest and well maintained sites I have visited.Toilets spotless,At last water really hot enough to get a good wet shave. Country park next door a delight.great walks, lovely beach.
Spent five nights here in June, weather was gorgeous. Site is immaculate, wardens friendly, helpful and approachable. Very relaxing stay. Close to country park for long walks with the dog. Would recommend highly.
A good suit next to a park you can walk down to the beach and the other good walks you have to pay £5 to take your vehicle into the park the toilets were clean and pleasant wardens
What a beautiful place!
We arrived at the end of May half term. It was nearly full. Although there were lots of children the atmosphere was great - families and couples enjoying life!
The wardens were friendly and very helpful. Toilet block immaculate, despite the site being so busy. V
Site colourful and very neat and tidy too!
The country park and beach were great too and only a short drive to the Gower Peninsula.
What more can you want?
This is an excellent facility set in a remarkable area of South West Wales. It is located next to Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire. It boasts one of the best beaches in the United Kingdom some 7 miles long. You will also have access to the Park which has good facilities for Adults and Children to explore. Great for Dog's as well the Park has numerous forest walks. The caravan site is well laid out with the usual Club Standard facilities staffed by excellent Wardens who maintain the site to a good standard. You may also like to explore the many attractions within the area, a visit to The Botanical Gardens is a must.
We were looking forward to visit this site and there is no doubt that with Pembrey Park next door with the walks it contains this a truly wonderful place. However as mentioned by others there is a huge difference between school holidays and other times. Perhaps the toilet block area should be a no cycling/scooters area as we both suffered near misses and the same should apply between pitches. The toilet block itself kept spotless by the wardens was indeed under severe pressure during our visit with queues at times. On the Sunday at the end of the school holiday it was a totally different site. Peace and tranquillity prevailed and will visit the sit again avoiding school holidays.
Spent last weekend at the site. Excellent facilities and park as a whole. If you want peace and quiet, i'd possibly suggest somewhere else as the kids are really enjoying themselves everywhere on the park. Ours sure were anyway! Set in the wonderful country park, it was just a short 20 minute strole to the beach and the kids loved the bike ride down. As some of the park is set amongst trees i'd suggest taking some mozzy spray as they like to bite!! Great time had. Will return!
My wife and I have been trying for some time to visit the site. We have just returned from a weekend at the site after booking by telephoning directly, as once again it was showing fully booked on the club's website.
All I can say is what a fantastic location within the Pembrey Country Park. We were blessed with good weather which was a bonus.
We arrived at the end of the Whitsun school break and the site was full of young children riding their bikes and scooters.
The facilities at the site were in my opinion were stretched, due to the site being full and the wardens were doing a fantastic job keeping everything just right. Another pair of assistant wardens should be considered.
On Sunday, the end of the school holidays, what a transformation. Peace and tranquillity returned. It was noticeable that the new arrivals were mature couples looking for peace and quiet.
In summary, a fantastic location which we cannot wait to visit again, but not during a school holiday. For young families this is utopia with everything a child could wish for on hand.
Well done the wardens for doing a fantastic job.
Just returned from a 4 night stay, 2 adults and 2 children 14 and 11. Lovely, welcoming, and clean site. The sun shone every day which gave us the opportunity to explore the park and beach. The milkman, breadman, and the expensive ice cream van visited the site daily. Much fun was had on the toboggan ride. Remember to show your caravan club card for an extra ride.
We visited Pembrey Country Park site for the first time last week and consider it to have been probably one of the best to which we have been. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The facilities were very well maintained, as were the pitches generally, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The location is good, with a relatively short walk (approx. 0.5 mile), into the village, for limited provisions, a v.g. Bistro Pub, and frequent buses to Carmarthen and Llanelli, although the site has its own limited mini-shop, and a bakery van visits daily. Access to the country park, which is adjacent is easy, but my only criticism is that there were no facilities open on the park during our visit, which was a disappointment. Apparently the contract for management of these services has changed recently, but if they plan to be open for the summer, then much work would appear to be needed. This however, in no way reflects on the caravan club site, which we will definitely try to visit again.
