We stayed here for 4 nights, its located next to the country park and the site has a back gate for easy walking access. Its a lovely site and very friendly wardens who keep the place looking immaculate. You have a choice of grass and hard standing and there is plenty of room on the pitches.
We had numerous walks around the park either through the woods or direct to the beach or a mix of both. The park has apparently been taken over my a new management team, who havent quite got to grips with the upkeep, so we found the park nice but a little run down. Many of the pathways need resigning and they should take a lead from the national trust paths so red, yellow, green, blue routes as most of the footpath signs are old and unmarked so its easy to get lost in there.
There are a number of cafes and toilets around the park at the ski slope and the beach
Its also a nice walk into burry port along the coastal path, and we made it a circular coming back along the canal bank a disused railway line.
Walking and cycling heaven with beach and park included.
We love this site, The wardens as ever were friendly and helpful. The walking and cycling is great. Nearby beaches and country park are within easy walking distance. Managed not to use the car just bikes (except when it rained) which is exactly what we wanted. It can be very busy at weekends and there are often events in the nearby park and also the race track just further up the coast. Loads to do either exploring on foot on your bike or in the car. Or simply just relaxing on site is pleasant. Be back soon!!

Outstanding Warden help
New van ..... water leak. Without the outstanding help and spare pipe from the Gentleman Warden I would have had a 22 mile round trip to B&Q (and a few quid lighter). To you and all the staff at Pembrey many many thanks for a beautiful site and always a warm welcome. See you again in November.
Phil.

Pembrey, great site
Great site, but we don't come here for long breaks as it's so expensive. The site is great CC standards, I wont say that the shower block looks tired , but it was take your life in your hands when using the ladies loos as the seats moved all over the place. The shelf in the showers are too high and too narrow, but plenty of hot water. The country park is great, we managed to get down to the beach with the dogs, but only once as the sand dune that you have to climb over seems to be higher this year. We were lucky with the weather, the other campers, dogs and children all made for a great few days.
Staying local
The great thing about this site is being able to stay local. We travelled a long way for this holiday so it was nice to be able to enjoy the site and the country park next door. We shopped for provisions at Burry Port - just a couple of miles away which has a big Co-op, a traditional butcher and baker along with several little shops and takeaway outlets. A wander round the harbour is nice too. The local folk are really friendly and helpful. It's a lovely part of Wales to visit! The only reason I have marked this site down for peace and quiet is having a couple of nights disturbed by cars racing on the road nearby.
