Walking and cycling heaven with beach and park included.

We love this site, The wardens as ever were friendly and helpful. The walking and cycling is great. Nearby beaches and country park are within easy walking distance. Managed not to use the car just bikes (except when it rained) which is exactly what we wanted. It can be very busy at weekends and there are often events in the nearby park and also the race track just further up the coast. Loads to do either exploring on foot on your bike or in the car. Or simply just relaxing on site is pleasant. Be back soon!!

Outstanding Warden help

New van ..... water leak. Without the outstanding help and spare pipe from the Gentleman Warden I would have had a 22 mile round trip to B&Q (and a few quid lighter). To you and all the staff at Pembrey many many thanks for a beautiful site and always a warm welcome. See you again in November. Phil.

Pembrey, great site

Great site, but we don't come here for long breaks as it's so expensive. The site is great CC standards, I wont say that the shower block looks tired , but it was take your life in your hands when using the ladies loos as the seats moved all over the place. The shelf in the showers are too high and too narrow, but plenty of hot water. The country park is great, we managed to get down to the beach with the dogs, but only once as the sand dune that you have to climb over seems to be higher this year. We were lucky with the weather, the other campers, dogs and children all made for a great few days.

Staying local

The great thing about this site is being able to stay local. We travelled a long way for this holiday so it was nice to be able to enjoy the site and the country park next door. We shopped for provisions at Burry Port - just a couple of miles away which has a big Co-op, a traditional butcher and baker along with several little shops and takeaway outlets. A wander round the harbour is nice too. The local folk are really friendly and helpful. It's a lovely part of Wales to visit! The only reason I have marked this site down for peace and quiet is having a couple of nights disturbed by cars racing on the road nearby.

Pembrey Park Access

For any caravanner who has taken advantage of a previously available concessionairy CAR access to the park through the clubs reception you might like to note the Council have withdrawn this and a daily charge per car of £5 applies. Also new cafe facility down on right hand side half way between CC site and beach. Great for a short stop over break with pleasant views of the park. Refreshment facilities at beach access point very limited currently to drinks and ices. Brilliant beach especially when tide is out? Weather a bit off this past week but still a great place to be. Great site

My wife and I are regular visitors to Pembrey Park. Facilities are great as are the wardens. Recent addition is the paper/milk man, he comes regularly 7 days a week around 9am week days, 10am Sundays. There is also a bread man with a good selection of bread and cakes. Ideal for walking and cycling and great for children and dogs. The only minus point, if you can call it that, is usually once a week the RAF have a training day but this in itself provides a spectacle. In short, no reservations in highly recommending this site.

Pembrey Caravan & Motorhome Club Site - First time.

First time at Pembrey Caravan & Motorhome Club Site, stayed for 7 nights. (Got home today). The site is lovely and the pitches seem a good size, toilet blocks clean. It was about 15 minutes walk to Cefn Sidan Beach, which is a lovely walk through the country park and if you wish to drive through the country park instead there is a entry charge. There are parts of the beach that have restrictions for dogs from May to September. The Welsh coastal path is nice. Will return.

So much to do

We had never been to Pembrey Country Park site before and we absolutely loved it. The diversity of the surrounding area was great to explore. Our two dogs adored it as did we. Great beach, huge and great dunes and pine woodland surroundings made it interesting walking terrain. Although we usually never go away at bank holidays we found ourselves in the midst of May Day weekend which was an eye opener for us. The caravans just kept on coming but it was not a problem. Louder than we re used to but that's because as retired we cusually choose quieter times. Loved it and the weather was good to us mostly. Great wardens, spotless facilities and lots of space to roam. We found Burry Port good for shopping and Morrisons near Swansea. Would definately return.
