Lovely Holiday

Had a fantastic break over Easter at Pembrey. Wardens are brilliant and extremely helpful and hardworking. The site is very close to the park and not far to get to the long sandy beach. Great for cycling and walking the dogs. A lovely part of Wales with lots to see and looking forward to our return visit in just over a month.

Pembrey - No Thanks!

If you are in need of a relaxing break away from it all – look elsewhere! Of all the years I have been touring this has to be my least favourite site, even to the point of I think the club should re-evaluate if its worth keeping on the books. The site is overcrowded during school holidays with only one facilities block in the middle of the park, with 4 showers in each. Meaning unless you like to be up and showered before 07:15 you will have to either suffer the queues or resort to showering in your own van if you wish – on several occasions the facilities blocks were left filthy be previous users – not the wardens fault as they were cleaned daily, but probably just more to do with the frequent use. Then there is the noise!. Everyday a bakers van and a milk and paper man come to the site to sell their products – sounds like a great idea doesn’t it.. But instead of coming to the site entrance where people can go and get their paper and milk if they would like, the wardens think it’s a great idea to let them on the site, they drive around every morning at about 9 am blasting their horns to get your attention – Warden should make them wait in the visitors car park and put a board up that says to everyone coming to the park – that they are there at 09:00 – till 09:30 if you want them – don’t let them on the park driving well above the 5 MPH limit blasting horns as this isn’t conducive to a good holiday for anyone. Combine this with the noise coming out of the country park with motorbikes, cars, horse rally’s, steam fairs etc. and I’ve needed to come home for a rest! Combine all the above with the very lacklustre welcome from wardens who honestly appear to be cheesed off with being there - and it has to be honestly the worst site I have ever stayed at, I won’t be returning!

Lovely Site in a great area

We only had a weekend here but the weather was fine and the walks in the Country Park were really enjoyable. The beach is huge and there was plenty of room if you wanted a bit of peace. The facilities on site were excellent and very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

You won't be disappointed

Excellent and well run site with very easy access to country park, ideal for cycling either around park or into Bury Port. Site quite during weekdays but can be a bit noisy from adjacent park do to cycle racing at weekends but don't let that put you off, you won't be disappointed.

Good for Cycling

we chose this site to try out my wife's new electric bike, the cycling path was so easy to access no hills and plenty to view on route. We headed off east towards Burry Port, the cycle path was interesting with the Pavilion cafe to stop for coffee. Although plenty of walkers out as it was a really sunny day there was still plenty of room. The week-end (1st & 2nd April) we chose was the British Cycling MTB competition in the park, so really entertaining watching the experts ride the rough terrain course. And a great park to just stroll around, we also had coffee watching the youngsters on the ski slope. Club site was you would expect, very clean and helpful wardens. We will return

Excellent site

Excellent site with walking access to both beach and countryside. There was no need to take our motorhome off site.

First time tourers

What a treat to have such a great experience on our first trip with the caravan. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who helped by carefully explaining how to set up and about the facilities on site. We have been going to the Pembrey park for many years to enjoy the sand dune beaches but had never camped. We chose a grass pitch which was level and had plenty of space between pitches. The facilities were very clean, the loo block was heated and the showers very nice. Happy to recommend this site.

Excellent Site

Stayed here in mid-December. An excellent site with very good facilities located in a very attractive part of Wales. Pembrey Country Park next doors which offers miles of walking/cycling, excellent beaches and wildlife 'spotting' as takes your fancy and I can appreciate why site is very popular in the summer! Wardens are very helpful and friendly and the services are spotless and beautifully maintained. I can fully recommend the site for quiet winter breaks as we had and we will certainly return.
