easy to find, a quiet spot on the moors , not too far from a supermarket.
Friendly staff....and friendly neighbours.
Easter break at Whitby.
We had a safe but quite hair raising journey as there are a few challenging hills and corners to negotiate en route to the site.
The site is sufficiently set back from the main road (the site is adjacent to small road) for it to be peaceful.
The area is beautiful and has long been a favourite of ours. As well as Whitby there is Robin Hood's Bay and further north Staithes, both are very picturesque but very steep.
Whitby is very dog friendly with most eateries allowing them in. Best of all was the Rusty Shears which even brought our pooches a treat of their own, "dogaccinos" warmed frosted milk served in China bowls!
We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic
After a ride round one sunny summers day we was very impressed. We stopped to talk to the warden, he told us about the goth weekend and suggested we booked as it get full quickly. Not being a goth and knowing very little about them we decided to give it a go. And glad we did. So thank you to the warden. The site itself was great. Very clean and well looked after. We will be back.
Little gem
Lovely quiet, friendly site, close to our favourite place to visit, robin hoods bay, good value for money.
Much improved.
This always used to be one of our favourite sites but when we went two years ago it appeared run down and the wardens were not the most friendly. Suffering from withdrawals symptoms we decided to give it another try last week and we wish we hadn't left it so long. The hard standing pitches had been weeded, the service points were spotless and the current wardens very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next season.
Great, shame about members driving skills
All great. Clean, good friendly wardens and excellent location. Despite wardens starting on arrival to stay in 1st gear it was soon apparent that many members must drive automatics. Otherwise there is no explanation for many, perhaps most driving far too fast. Why!? Slow down, you are on holiday.
fantastic site
First time at this site (21/10 to 30/10) apart from the amount of falling leaves not a problem. The lack of facilities does not bother us, we have all we need in the van, just a pity its not open all year. Very quiet and ideally laid out, the wardens were very helpful and always busy, plus 2 super dog walks from the site. Close enough to Whitby and a number of other coastal towns and villages. Definitely on the list of revisits.
Another Favourite Site to add to our list
First time at this site 23/10-26/10 and it has gone straight onto our list of favourite sites.
When we want a short week-end it's just down the road an hour FAB. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, the site nice and clean, the facilities near to hand. I like the fact that it's all hardstanding, a really lovely site, peaceful and quiet with lots of trees, the dogs thought they were in seventh heaven. I am not bothered by the lack of toilet and shower blocks, in fact I prefer the sites without them. There is lots to do and see near by and I can certainly recommend the Falling Foss Cafe at the bottom of the hill. Pity the site is not open all year I would have thought that with it all being hard standing that would not have been a problem but we will be back again. Janice and Phil.
Another Gem of a site
Even with no loo block there aren't any negatives that i can think of. Serenely peaceful and a very warm welcome from the wardens await you. Despite the seasonal leaf drop nicely looked after witha great show of assorted fungi. Only possible criticism is it isn't open all year. Plenty to see in the area and autumn is a beautiful time to be here. We'll be back.
